Disappointing Experience with Thomas Cook Forex Services I was given misleading commitments while purchasing the forex card from Thomas Cook. I was promised an international SIM card with 6GB of data, but after the card was sold, there was no further response either from the SIM provider or the Thomas Cook representative. Additionally, during my trip, I faced a currency shortage and despite multiple requests, there was no timely support for reloading the card. I had to rely on my credit card to manage expenses. Given this experience, I would not recommend Thomas Cook for forex services. It’s better to go with reliable, known vendors who actually deliver on service and support during international travel.

I will advise everyone to go through the review before going with Thomas cook. They misguides people with standards of hotels. I am having a bitter experience with Thomas cook and will never take its services anymore. I am suffering every single day of my stay. Thomas cook mislead me. Once they take money they forget everything. They lie like anything. I wish I would have go with the Google reviews and could spend a better holiday.

Firstly i will say that if i had known that Thomas Cook was no longer a tour operator but instead just a travel agent, then i would never had booked this holiday with them. I should have been more inquisitive when i got my final documents through a few days before departure to find that the airline was a company that i had never heard of (Corendon) but i know sometimes planes are in for service and therefore maybe this flight was chartered.....I was wrong. The plane was not clean and the crew didnt seem that bothered. on the way out there was no hot food available but what was available did not represent what was shown on the menu. When we arrived to Antalya airport, I followed all instructions on my confirmation paperwork to find someone holding a card with my name on it. no one could be found. i then proceeded to one of the many "organised" taxi booths for my provider and they said they had no booking in my name and suggested i tried another, they also had no booking in my name so went to the third and yet again no booking in my name, at this time it was the early hours of the morning and no one (including the emergency number i called from my booking) was willing to help so was forced to pay for a taxi. which in fairness has been submitted for a refund) We arrived at the hotel to be given a room which did not represent at all the room that i had booked and i was then made to pay an upgrade fee of 50 euros if i didnt like my room. the holiday itself was brilliant, my son and I had a great time and made some lovely memories......until.... The day before our return flight home, i went online to check in at around 0600, once i had submitted all passport and security information i showed our flights....the flight time was supposed to be around 1430 but the flight once checked in was showing 1110. this again threw us into a panic as the transfer (i assumed would be booked for around 0900) would not get us to the airport in time. so i phone Thomas Cook (24hr line) to be told that the airline had changed the flight time but not told anyway but they can confirm i was on the flight....not a great help but hey ho. i then asked about the transfer and was advised that my booking was ok and i just had to contact the supplier and confirm the pick up time. I called a number who informed me that i need to phone back at 1200, i waited those hours and then called back and spoke to someone who just said "send me reference numbers and name on WhatsApp" i did this and was told, i had no booking and that they were unable to find anything with my name or reference number. I called back Thomas Cook who said they would sort and that everything SHOULD be fine. 1500 i finally received a message saying i would be picked up at 0535. Having an autistic child who relishes in knowing exactly what the plan is made the remainder of the day incredibly hard. The plan had gone from having a nice relaxing last morning with breakfast and saying goodbye to the stray animals that he had befriended to waking up and leaving immediately at short notice. I will never book with Thomas Cook again. as stated at the beginning, if i had known that they were now just a broker, i would not have booked with them but for the sheer lack of organisation and stress this put on the trip for me, let alone what my phone bill is going to be for all of the international calls i had to make. I will not make this mistake again.

Rupa here Did travel to Japan from 19th march to 28th march 2025 through Thomas cook mangalore . Would like to inform that the food for all the days were pathetic . Bad . It was like charity food given to us . No proper seating arrangements while having food. Many had to stand and eat . The restaurants were so small, cramped and dingy and food was horrible . Even though we paid a good amount , I felt that we were treated like we are eating for free. Our your manager Mr Anurag jhalani was a waste. He was not at all involved with the group in any way . He was of no help to us. Thomas cook should hire a younger tour manager . If not for our Japan guide shyam sharma the trip also would have been not worth remembering .

Worst travel company in India. Once you pay the advance booking amount, prices keep on going up and the customer service courtesy starts going down. The standard of facilities and services provided during the trip is not what is being advertised. Brij Bansal

I had an extremely disappointing experience with Thomas Cook during my Vietnam tour (4D/5N). The planning was thoughtless, with three out of five days wasted at airports. Key activities were missed due to poor scheduling, and my visa was issued just hours before departure, causing unnecessary stress. Logistical issues were rampant—at Halong Bay, we were stranded without support, and at Danang, we had to carry luggage from the 7th floor due to no electricity. The hotels were subpar, and flights were poorly chosen, with one route offering no meal option. Overall, it was evident that profit margins were prioritized over client satisfaction. I will not be using Thomas Cook again and cannot recommend their services to anyone seeking a well-organized and stress-free trip.

Thomas Cook is really bad service provider. They had booked 2 single bedroom for the honeymoon package. When asked for replacement they said that it's for 2 pax and they don't guarantee double bed. If you cannot provide honeymoon package, or if you don't take responsibility of this, please don't provide this service. Very unprofessional and irresponsible people. They even took wedding invitation as a proof of honeymoon package, what's the point if can't give the minimum required double bed for the honeymoon. They denied to book another equivalent hotel.

We booked Bali trip with Thomas cook agent, even though I gave him list of visiting places in Bali, he confirmed all those places are covered. Once we landed in Bali we came to know none of the places were covered, the driver was not willing to cover what we requested for, ended up paying to another service to visit places which cost us a lot. The agent didn’t inform us to convert Indian Rs into Indonesian Rs in India as Bali airport do not accept Indian Rs. Two women traveling facing all these difficulties, not worth to book it through Thomas cook. We are very disappointed, never book it through this travels.

Horrible service . They will keep calling you when you make an enquiry. But when you tell them the amount of forex required and if they see it is small then they won't bother to call you back. When you raise a complaint, they lie by saying customers number was unreachable. They will lie that email was sent stating that the number was not reachable. They only want to deal in large transactions. They already have a very poor reputation. Pls avoid. Connect with a local travel agency , they are faster and more efficient

I am writing to formally lodge a complaint against Mr. Vaibhav Mistry, the tour guide assigned to the Swiss French Magic tour (19-27 September, 2024), specifically regarding his conduct and the service provided on the Disneyland Paris tour day. I believe it is crucial to bring this matter to your attention to prevent other travelers from experiencing similar distress. On the day of the Disneyland Paris tour, Mr. Mistry informed us that there would be only one gate for exiting the park and then left us to enjoy our day. However, when it was time to leave, we discovered that there were actually three exits, which he had not explained. This caused significant confusion among us. Mr. Mistry sent us his live location, but due to poor network connectivity, we were unable to locate him. Unlike other travel guides from Kesari and Veena World, who were present near the exits, Mr. Mistry was outside somewhere and only communicated via location sharing. He instructed us to meet him at a specific location by 6:30 PM, but despite our efforts to find the location and multiple attempts to call him, he was unresponsive and unable to provide clear directions. By 7 PM, Mr. Mistry had left without providing further instructions on how we could return to the hotel. As four women stranded at Disneyland, we felt extremely unsafe and vulnerable. When we finally managed to contact him, he made sarcastic comments instead of offering assistance. He sent us train numbers but failed to provide exact navigation details. We struggled to purchase train tickets as the machines did not accept our cards, leaving us completely lost until 7:45 PM. Desperate, we requested Mr. Mistry to arrange an Uber for us, which he refused, asking us to manage on our own. We eventually had to take a cab, spending our 135 Euros, and reached the hotel, fearing for our safety the entire time. Upon arrival, we attempted to inform Mr. Mistry that we had reached safely, but he did not answer our calls. When he finally did, he dismissively stated that he was having dinner and abruptly ended the call. Throughout the entire trip, Mr. Mistry was consistently passing sarcastic comments. He had earlier mentioned that he would surely leave us (four ladies) behind, which he ultimately did. This experience was horrifying and put our lives and safety at risk. Mr. Mistry's behavior was unprofessional and unacceptable.

Avoid Thomas Cook – Misleading Advertising and Horrible Experience We booked a holiday with Thomas Cook that was advertised as “luxury,” but it was anything but! The conditions at the destination were awful. The hygiene was extremely poor, the place was infested with insects, and my legs were severely swollen from insect bites. The experience was so bad it felt like we were in a nightmare rather than on a relaxing holiday. Despite this, Thomas Cook only offered us £50 compensation, which is a complete insult given the horrible conditions we endured. Beware of what Thomas Cook advertises. What they sell as “luxury” could turn into a holiday from hell, like it did for us. I will never book with them again.

Absolutely pathetic service! Reached out to them for a 7 night 8 days, 5 star hotel package of Rajastan for family of 4 adults. Package cost would be around 7 to 8 lak. Idiots can't even do basic things like call a customer back. Follow up with the itinary in a timely manner. This is clear reflection of the CEO and Senior Managent. Dumb as door knobs.
