“This is the worst company I have ever dealt with, no answer to emails sent, the tracking does not work, they did not deliver my order, I had to get Paypal to get my money back. I can not emphasise enough how bad they are.”
“I agree with all the previous comments. I made a substantial order in March and out of the 5 items ordered, I’ve only received 2. The last one (5 geranium plugs) received today Are small, yellowed and broken in places. Very poor quality. The pair of viola baskets were wilted but with a bit of TLC from me they are lovely now. That aside I’ve sent 5 emails about my order which haven’t even been acknowledged let alone answered. I have tried to ring on about 8-10 occasions only to get an answer service to say they are not taking calls as they are trying deal with emails! 😳 This is along with trying to work from home! I know Covid has had an impact on businesses but I’ve ordered plants from other suppliers without any difficulties. I am extremely disappointed and would like my money back. I’ve shared this experience with my gardening club and would not recommend this company to anyone!”
“Awful customer service, no phone lines to talk to anyone, no reply to emails, you have to voice your complaint on their Facebook page which is ridiculous. I would NOT advise anyone to ever use Thompson and morgan for plants. Rotten to the core.”
“If I could give no stars I would! I ordered in March prior to lockdown, plants came in dribs and drabs over the months, shockingly packed and at least half didn't survive. Finally my plugs came this week and more than half were already dead, those left don't look great and unlikely to survive. I emailed customer services and got a bog standard email, advising not to contact them again and i would hear from someone within 14 days. I will never use T&M again, dire plants and shocking customer service.”
“They deducted my money straight away in March. Still waiting for half the order. Everything I have ordered has been absolutely awful. The plug plants died within 24 hours the trees were so bad I would not even buy them in a bargain basement. The tomato plant is the wrong one and yellow and half dead. Wrong variety I'm not even going to bother to plant it. I can hardly wait for the geraniums they will probably arrive by Christmas ! This used to be a good company!”
“I echo all your previous reviews with my experience. What terrible customer service! or lack of it! Trying to get a refund for my sweet pea seeds and having written twice, still no signs of a reply! Will certainly not use their company again! Very cross and disappointed.”
“Half of plants were dead on arrival, still waiting for remaining order which should have been delivered in may, sent emails but no reply, go to a garden centre don't waste your money.”
“Two months ago I ordered petunia and begonia plug punts. After a long wait with no updates, petunias arrived, poorly packaged and damaged beyond salvage. Emailed the company to explain, still waiting for a response and begonias! Plenty of emails offering other plants! Will never use them again!”
“Terrible quality, appalling service….
Seven weeks after I ordered my flowers they arrived, completely crushed in a damaged box. No excuse had been given for the enormous delay in delivery.
A little note informed me that the variety I had ordered was not available but that they were confident that ‘I would be pleased with the alternative’. However, instead of the Jumbo plants I paid for I was presented with some miserable looking small growths of unknown provenance. I will never know what they were supposed to be, or rather become, because they have all died after three days.
To add insult to injury the note mentioned that ‘as a gesture of goodwill’ a 5 pound voucher would be enclosed. As it happened, no voucher was enclosed at all.
When you ring this company you get the answering phone, when you write them an email, you can expect a reaction within 10-14 (!!!) days. What more can I say….”
“Do not buy from this company. This is caused by greed! Plants forced, dead on arrival and 6-8 weeks late. Far to late for summer bedding plants to grow on from the tiny dead shoots they have sent! As others have said you can not contact them to complain or to cancel your order. Shameful service.”
“I received an email telling me that my order for live plants had been dispatched. That was 3 - 4 weeks ago. I'm still waiting. I've emailed twice, enquiring no answer, nothing, so if they actually did send them, and I have my doubts they'll be compost by now. I had problems with them last year too, I accepted their excuse of having a new computer system installed then but that was a year ago. Some sort of scam going on with T&M these days taking your money for nothing. Avoid!! use the smaller companies who actually care about their customers and are not in the habit of ripping them off.”
“This link may be of help to others who like me can not get any response from Thompson and Morgan, other than an automated e mail. Gardeners World

“order a number of plants which took weeks to arrive and arrived in one at a time as there was approximately 6 items which i accepted with lock down however other than the boxes of feed the plants were dead on arrival out of ten french bean plugs that when they arrived were a pot of slime i managed to salvage 3
6 bizzie lizzies were dead and was promised a replacement sent pictures
weeks later still nothing .3 Tomato plants were also half dead which i managed to salvage 2 .
Not a great experience wouldn't use again”
“I have had a couple of orders from Thompson and Morgan. On the first the plugs were much smaller than I anticipated and the seeds took ages to arrive. My most recent order came 8 days after it was despatched, the plugs were damaged and unusable. I contacted the customer services. I prompted a response twice and eventually was told they sent it when they said and so it wasn't their problem.”
“Ordered 3 shirley toms in march
Not received by may so e mailed to cancel, got e mail last week they had dispatched them 7 days later still not arrived, will refuse them if they do arrive”
“I echo so many other (probably) ex-customers. I have used T&M for years and occasionally had a bad delivery but I’ve yet to have a viable one this year. Initially I received a response to my emails and replacements were promised. These arrived in even worse condition, and cannot be blamed on packaging or delays between despatch and delivery. Now I’m getting no response, and no refund although this is offered on their website, in case of customer dissatisfaction.
I doubt this company will survive somehow. I won’t use them again, anyway.”
“Finally got my pear tree delivered after chasing carrier pot dry leaves wilted stem full of unpruned side shoots 15" or more long
Not be pruned this sprig new growth cut back and in worthless package which offer no protection to the tree 2 cardboard boxes one containing the pot and base of tree the pther stuck upside down on top not even taped together. I recently bought a tree from Pippins trees came in well designed strong container made for the job with the tree in very good condition and well looked after delivered in 24 hours not 10 days Will not be using this company again 10 days to travel less than 10 miles, to quote Victor Meldrew I don't believe it. shocking service and poor quality”
“First and last time using this company! My money was taken out of my account on 28th April ,nothing came up on my e,mail,no order number, nothing!phones are off ,replies to e.mails take 10-14days I won,t hold my breath I get anything from them at all let alone my plants.I wish I had read the reviews before I ordered ,how does this company have the audacity to carry on taking peoples money is beyond me.I know these are difficult times but evidently they were just as bad last year.Be warned !”
