“TrustPilot is one of those companies that will take reviews for business both positive and negative, at least on the surface. Companies I presume create a relationship with Trustpilot to have negative reviews removed from the website. The reviewer is notified of this and prompted to provide additional information including sending personally information insecurely over the Internet with personally identifiable information to prove that they are who they say they are and that the review is legitimate. For obvious reasons this is a horrible practice through the means they are enforcing it since you would be sending information which can be used to open accounts in your name. Sending invoices and other stuff through unencrypted email is one of the worst decisions one can make with their person information, especially sending it to a service that may or may not be using this information and passing it onto the companies. There are a lot of companies that will go out of their way to make things worse for companies that dare to speak out against them, therefore by providing this information to these companies, they are enabling reviewers to be hassled by companies that have stolen their money or have failed to provide a product or service. While there are certainly issues with reviews online, Trustpilot's strategy is one of neglect and seems to serve as a means to help companies market themselves online rather than allowing reviewers to share their experiences online.”

“I'm a very unsatisfied business customer of Trustpilot. Trustpilot works (I assume) only for those business that: 1) Don't rely on third parties to fulfill their services and We often are dinged for something our third parties do, although customer loves us. We may have a 5 star service but get 3 stars because the bus was 5 minutes late. Yes, it is still our responsibility at the end of the day, but the point here is that this rating system does not work for us or for you if you depend on third parties. 2) Have high volume of reviewers so on or two bad reviews do not completely ruin your score. It is ultra difficult to have people leave reviews so for a not high volume of customer business, you'll be luck if you end the year with 10 reviews. In essence you pay hundreds of dollars per yer per review 3) Truspilot algorithm sucks. You can have 20 5 star reviews but your score is not perfect. And if you get a 3 star it'll take over 200 reviews to get near perfection. To achieve that, in a "not high volume" of customers type of business it takes years, and you'll never get there. 4) Contesting reviews Trustpilot system of contesting a review is horrendous. If someone does not like your business, even if they do no buy from you can leave a negative review. Does not matter if the review is blatantly wrong. The reviewer is right until proven wrong, and we have to actually dispute the claim in the open for all to see. There is no easy way for businesses to address fake or false reviews. It is a great nightmare that takes hours of your time. And of course you sign a contract of one year with no escape clause for the shortcomings of Trustpilot. In summary look at other ways to get your reviews integrated on your site. Trustpilot is just not a good solution.”

“Post a genuine review or a car company who tried to pressure sell me 7k of extras. after walking away i posted a review which they had removed by trust pilot because I wasn't a customer. So I need to get ripped of for a valid review... what a joke of a company.”

“crazy review website. You want to write a review to help others to not be scammed, but they keep asking for a bunch of private questions before they allow you post an actual complaint. even private information that I didn't wanted to share. anyway after they asked me for the second information I gave up. They are more lean to companies that actual customers. at least now I know I shouldn't trust their site when I check for other companies review.”

“I received an unsolicited email from TrustPilot (TP) inviting me to review - lets say - Company X. I did so, with two stars only. A few weeks later I received a mail from TP saying that X did not recognise me and that I wasn't a customer. And that I should forward all my purchase documentation to TP for verification. I chose not to do so as there is private info (eg my card, address, phone etc) which I don't wish to share. I said in my reply that I surely wasn't fake, since X had alerted TP about me in the first place! However TP will be taking down my negative review, as it is "unverifiable". Now someone is paying TP for its services, and it's not me. So their business model must be to charge a fee to Company X. Hence they will inevitably be tempted to suppress poor reviews that shade their clients. Which means of course that TrustPilot can never be 'honest' in its reviews.”

“I had wrote three perfectly great reviews about shearings coaches for all of them to be removed i had no explanation why these reviews are honest and geniune all i got from trust pilot is they have removed my reviews someone is investigating me for putting up fake reviews which is false and ive also wrote by email to support team on trust pilot saying my reviews where genuine and honest they are now going to inquire why my reviews where taken down i shall find out in a few days time by them by email. It does annoy me that they can and do take genuine reviews down. I have never wrote a fake review on any site ive always been honest with my reviews.”

“I put a honest reveiw of my experience of a company,because they did not like the reveiw,they got trust pilot to remove it,I thought this was a honest customers review site,it seems if the company don't like it,it gets removed,They let the false reveiws by the company employees stay.THis practice does not help the consumer to choose a reptiputable company.”

“I had a similar experience to many of the others leaving reviews. I reviewed a company negatively for some particularly dirty practices, but the company was able to just remove the review, and there was nothing I could do about it. There is absolutely no point to reviews if the company being reviewed gets to remove the ones they don't like.”

“First of all it's a very clear website and you have pleasure to deal with it. From my own experience: I have left 2 bad reviews about edreams and guess what? My problem was solved thanks to the responsiveness of edreams agents. Without trustpilot I wouldn't have been able to receive my money back :) I hope this site will stay long with us!”

“They published our complaint for several months and we received an email from them advising that they have removed the review because of lack of evidence and could I supply copies of order forms and confirmations etc. of the service that I was complaining about in accordance with TrustPilot terms and conditions. Which I did. After several more weeks, I received another e-mail asking for additional evidence which I supplied yet again and in full compliance with their terms and conditions. They now have everything that I received from the company that I am complaining about. I have now received another email from TrustPilot advising that I have not sent them sufficient evidence to support my complaint and my complaint will be cancelled? The moral to this is don't bother. Your wasting your time.”

“According to Trustpilot Guidelines no review may be written by a third party. I had reviews removed when I tried to write them for a relative who had received bad service from a company. However, I notice that third party reviews, when good, do appear and Trustpilot do not take into account their own guidelines. I have e mailed Trustpilot compliance team to ask about this but received no response. I have also tried contacting a member of the team direct but he too is ignoring me!”

“Tried to post a negative review about a company. It got denied for 3 times because of "according to our guidelines". If it was a positive review no questions were asked. The reality is TP gets paid by the companies that need a review on their website and is not interested in delivering a genuine review for the Internet community..”

“I left a honest and totally unbiased review on a company that had given very poor service and wasted a lot of my time and indeed its own assessor's time. The company complained to Trustpilot disagreeing and the review was instantly removed. I provided trust pilot with a copy of the information to 100% back up my review but it's still removed it. Also the same company has had mkst if not all negative comments removed on Trustpilot.I have now removed my account and reviews as I feel it is biased and reviews are not 100% genuine”
