Following a bad experience with an online trader, I left a poor review for them on Trustpilot. I then got a message from Trustpilot indicating the trader was asking for evidence of my correspondence with them but there was no obligation for me to comply with the request, so I didn't. Soon after, I got an email from Trustpilot saying they were pulling my review because the trader had suggested I was not a genuine customer of theirs, and asked me to provide supporting evidence if I wanted to reinstate my review! What I want to know is whether they ask similar things from those leaving positive reviews for companies? By doing this, they are making it more difficult for people to see the negative reviews of the companies on their website, because I am sure many people cannot be bothered to respond to these messages asking for "evidence", and as such, their reviews would eventually be deleted by Trustpilot. Now that I know this, I will stop paying attention to Trustpilot ratings for companies I purchase goods from!

I posted a review that was negative about Castlewater. Because Castlewater complained, trustpilot took it down. This might explain why trustpilot reviews rate them so highly.

Trustpilot? They need to remove the "trust" part as they are untrustworthy. They are the only review site that will remove your posts to protect a PAYING customer. The worse part is that they remove your post but don't tell you right away. They removed a few posts of mine well over a month before telling me about it. They know your post is perfectly fine but they constantly change the rules to protect their clients. Furthermore, by having your post put aside, it gives the time to fake posters from the company you gave bad reviews to bring up many 5 stars reviews to bury yours behind the list. Trustpilot? More like Nevertrustpilot unless you are a paying company to protect them from bad reviews.

It is so obvious they can not be trusted. Firstly just follow the names of some of those giving glorious reviews. their names and soon it becomes evident that some people are simply fake and are probably fake reviewers, paid to do so. Using different names of course. 2, many of the glowing reviews are simply too over the top and often using terms a customer would never use. People do not use terminology when complimenting a company as though it were an old trusted friend. The whole thing stinks and I think there is a case here for fraud. Big time fraud.

DONT TRUST TRUSTPILOT. This is the worst sort of company. I don’t know how they are still operational. They are a company who uses extortion to force companies to buy into their corruption. They post inappropriate and inaccurate signs on businesses who use their free “service”. THINGS LIKE ITS COME TO OUR ATTENTION THIS COMPANY MAYBE POSTING FAKE REVIEWS. Bombard them with emails telling them that they will help them to improve their ratings which they have caused in the first place. They say that their system is automatic and detects false reviews using algorithms. You can’t pick up the types of review scams use by algorithms. Cant believe people falling for this one. The types of scams that companies use on trust pilot include brushing. This is when a scam company picks an address to send product to that hasn’t purchased that product. The recipient is puzzled but can’t find a way to return etc. There appears to be a purchase made so the company can leave positive reviews with “proof” of purchase. Over and over again on numerous sites. There is no algorithm that can pick this up. Another scam is buying positive reviews. Lots of sites online. Trustpilot gets around these ones by making it almost impossible for a consumer to question the authenticity of a review however Trustpilot removes hundreds of thousands of legit consumer reviews with a click of a button at the scam businesses say so. The company’s response is that the company cant remove them. But they can and do to such a degree that this skews ratings all on its own. That is Trustpilot’s model. No algorithms at work here just straight up corrupt business practices. Another technique scamming companies use is to offer a refund if the customer leaves a positive review. There are reviews on Trustpilot that even admit to this. No algorithm is gunna pick that up. Another technique that Trustpilot uses is the rules are set by them. They change the goal posts to suit the narrative they are spinning at the time. There were multiple media reports about the corrupt practices of Trustpilot they then had a massive media push to say “we are the good guys, we are open and honest” but they continue to use all the same techniques to skew the ratings. Trustpilot works diligently to protect the scam companies that use their site as its their main income earner. They use a similar technique on their site and teach their scam business customers as well. When a negative review is placed they send out a request to their registered uses to rate these are usually just a few words about good to leave reviews and 5 stars. This pushes the negative reviews way down the list and off the front page again it also skews ratings. Want another corrupt practice that trustnpilot uses. There are so many it’s just impossible to list them all. There is lots on the net. But hard to find as Trustpilot manipulates the net by inundating the net with positive Trustpilot posts. Trustpilot protects scammers. Just put in a well known scamming company say one of the Chinese clothing company scams and see if they are a paying company or not. If they pay their scores will be in the 4+* if not 2* or less. Just on this point one would think that red flags would fly. Also why don’t Trustpilot use the same review conventions as all other legit review sites and let you select negative reviews, positive reviews and most helpful reviews. Again this would not fit with their protection of scam companies. The world is losing billions of dollars to scam companies Trustpilot allows this to happen and everyone is turning a blind eye. Why?

Trust pilot removed my negative review of an estate agent because I had "no proof" that I had an interaction with that company. I explained my negative interactions were entirely phone based which only the company under review had proof of (if they record their calls). Trust Pilot said that isnt enough and took my review down. What an utter waste of time.

A individual has a vendetta again my company and you have allowed multiple incoherent rants about my business. You say you will verify his comments but he has never been to my company but you still allow his post. His posts don’t make much sense and are riddled with spelling and grammatical error yet you allow them. Disappointed too say the least

Genuine reviews with backup get removed It's just a platform mainly for those who need to vent there anger instead of managing their grievances in a constructive manner to the source of there anger ! Most companies don't even monitor or respond which says it all.

I was recently scammed by a company called Modomobi. I subsequently posted a negative review on Trustpilot. Modomobi objected and my review was taken down for review. I then found that this company routinely objects to every review and Trustpilot duly takes them down! These negative reviews are still not reinstated months later. I then pointed v this out to Trustpilot in a negative review which they have also removed! Don't trust Trustpilot!
