Took a trip to phoenix Arizona and was in constant contact with Trevor since I had a plane delay. I was promised repeatedly that it would be a smooth transition and the car would be waiting on arrival. I messaged him as soon as I landed no response. I followed all the steps in the process with sending a pic of license and one with me holding it. Proceeded with several messages with no response. Called Trevor’s number no response. Also called the main number to Turo which the attempted to contact him several times with no luck. I had a hour and 1/2 delay with them and in the end they would not let me get the car and then they canceled it and reimbursed my money. I had a 2 1/2 hour drive ahead of me to get to my destination. This is the worst rental experience in all my travels. This is how they treat veterans not cool. I can’t stress this enough do not use them if you want a rental. Highly recommend using hopper and finding a rental right at the airport they were the best price and the service was on point.

Absolutely ridiculous it even says on their policy that you cannot add a gift card unless you get approved I signed up gave me the status of being approved so since thinking that I was approved to rent a car I went and bought a $250 gift card Added it to my account which it allowed me to and when I went to check out to rent the car it gave me the air code saying that I was unable to rent from them and I said OK that’s fine but what can I do about the $250 gift card that I put on there is it gonna go to waste they did not give me good answers if anything I got a rude comment from customer service saying for the thousand time. Wait for a review team to look over your account through email waited for the email three times asking them about the gift card and all they cared about was why cannot use their car rental app I explained to them over and over that all I cared about was the $250 gift card on there customer service I have ever experience I’ve never had any problems before until this and I guess I’m wasting $250 because they’re not going to reimburse me on a gift card that I cannot even use if it was up to me I would give them zero stars why would you even let anybody add $250 to their account and give them an approval status just to take their money it even says on your policy that you cannot even add gift cards until you are approved which I was and then I don’t know where they locked me out completely I also have screenshots from the customer service conversation that I had and clearly you can see on there where the girl is saying for the thousand time. What kind of customer service is that to a customer that doesn’t seem to understand what’s going on unprofessional if you ask me.

Waste of time, host can cancel at anytime. Completely unreliable. I booked 4 months in advance and the host was still able to cancel with short notice. No responses or way to speak to anyone in customer service.

Their insurance claim is nothing! Hosts beware from this scam company! They don’t pay for the damage! Whomever you call they are not responsible or don’t know anything! My car had an accident and accident was confirmed! After confirmation the repair shop give an estimate for 6900$ and they paid only 2800 and now not answering emails or phones! Completely scam company! Beware for any cost!

Horrible horrible company. Far better places to rent cars from. Aside from the fact you can only communicate via chat and email, they screw you left and right and find ways to make it look like it's the Customer and keep your money at whatever it takes. They are bait and switch and filled with BS. Never use this company!!!!

Bait and switch pricing. They show you one price then you log in and they add admin fees, airport fees which was supposed to be free - over $200 more. Imagine having the price of jeans be $50 then you try them on and go to buy them only to have the cashier say the jeans are now $65. Terribly deceptive practice.

My 2023 Mercedes Benz was totaled by a Turo driver September 2023. After 3 months of them promising to fix my car ($40k worth of damages) they told me they will no longer fix it and it’s a total loss. That was November 2023 it’s now May 2024 and they have yet to pay or fix my car. My sales rep Cori Moler, have hung up the phone on me, has blocked my number, ignored 3 weeks of emails, and now she yet again out of the office until May 20th. (It’s currently May 9th 2024) and we are all still waiting for them to release the funds. If you are looking to become a host thoroughly consider the risks along with the customer service you’ll receive from this company.

I tried Turo when I was in Orlando. Cannot recommend using them. I paid cash each time I went thru a highway toll house. 2 weeks later, they charged my credit card on file for tolls without my permission after I told them I did not owe them any money. I’m not using them again.

I rented a Jeep Rubicon in Salt Lake for a ski trip and to travel to a cabin near Park City. The road was muddy and as a result the Jeep got mud on it too. When I returned the Jeep I informed the owner that there was a fare amount of mud on the vehicle. I assumed that he would know how to wash a muddy vehicle. He did not and ended up scratching the paint. I had purchased basic coverage on the car through Turo. They contacted me and billed me for an addition $995. and said that the coverage was cancelled because "I drove off road". This was false and arbitrary on their part. I will stick to renting cars through Enterprise from now on. I got SCAMED.

I was just a little late due to the plane waiting for available gate open. I was in touch with the host. I informed him that was running little late. But the host canceled my trip !!! He wouldn’t reply to my texts and phone call. I called Turo and they didn’t resolve or offer and resolution. I would never ever again use Turo.

Turo canceled my husband's reservation and refunded only our deposit when the host called for a car swap due to the car my husband reserved being damaged. We were given a emergency car for 24 hours we picked it up at 3:30 they wanted back at 1 we kept it an extra day cause we felt robbed of our time. We said we'd pay the difference. Now they hit us with all kind of fees. Improper return fee after we were advised by their security where to leave the car and keys. Pic are attached

The worst website and app considering they are digital middlemen. They are also deceptive and don't clearly articulate their terms. I had to call and ask them the cost of I returned my car late. I asked the car owner and he deferred me to Turo to answer questions. I tried to rent from them twice.... Never again.

As a host on Turo, I was initially excited about the prospect of earning extra income by renting out my car. However, my experience with the company quickly turned into a nightmare that I wouldn't wish upon anyone. The problems began when one of my vehicles was involved in a total loss incident while being rented out through Turo. Naturally, I expected the company to provide support and guidance during this challenging time, but instead, I was met with nothing but frustration and incompetence. First and foremost, Turo's insurance process was an absolute disaster. Despite providing all the necessary documentation and information promptly, the claims process dragged on for weeks with little to no communication from Turo's end. It was as if they were intentionally delaying the process in the hopes that I would simply give up and go away. But the lack of communication was just the tip of the iceberg. Turo's customer service was shockingly inadequate, with representatives displaying a complete lack of empathy and understanding towards my situation. Instead of offering support and guidance, they seemed more interested in passing the buck and deflecting responsibility. To add insult to injury, Turo's reimbursement for the total loss of my vehicle was laughably inadequate. Despite the car being well-maintained and in excellent condition, they offered a paltry sum that didn't even come close to covering the vehicle's value. It felt like a slap in the face after everything I had been through. In the end, I was left feeling disillusioned and betrayed by Turo. What was supposed to be a simple way to earn extra income turned into a nightmare of epic proportions. I would strongly advise any potential hosts to think twice before partnering with Turo. The company's lackluster support and incompetence make them more trouble than they're worth.

I had my car on turo for a few months and everything was great. The last person must have smoked a pound of marijuana in the car as it smelled like it when he returned it. I sold my car after that due to the foul smell. Sad one person can ruin a car with no repercussions.

Terrible, 2 hours of my life wasted that I can't get back! They must pay to come up on top of Google search, should put the money elsewhere! Found a car, entered all my details, registered, blah blah... The notice my return time is wrong, there's no option to change or edit it so I hit the "back button". This takes me all the way back to log in page! So I do it all again, find the same car, try to book, says I'm not verified, take selfies and then photos licence, front and back. The camera clicks automatically when it sees the licence, before I have time to fit it in the box! I can't control this. Wait 5+ mins and it says the photo wasn't good enough. Try again. Wait 15 minutes, no updates, the little spinny car spinning away! Chat to a bot, absolutely no help, around in circles, like the little spinny waiting car. Bot puts me on to "human" Hannah. She's possibly worse! In the end she ths is me for the advice I give on how to improve customer service and asks if she can assist further. But the only assistance was the bit I gave! For free! While she was getting paid! Wtf is happening to this world?!

After 30 days could not get phone verified. the support was NO help. I get verification codes from all types of companies, so it works. They suggested I get a new phone number. I had same number for 30 yrs was not going to do that. ALL chat support NO phone support. chat support would tell me things to do and when they couldn't figure it out they would say try in 24 hrs. same thing over n over. No one in charge you could talk to. Going to stick with rental car companies.

I rented a car from Maurice Jackson out in Destin Florida we rented the vehicle for 2 days we drove down to Louisiana during the trip my sister's purse falls out of her lap and all of the contents fall out she was able to get all of the contents back off the floor and into her purse except for her Vuse pen which we looked all over the car for and could not find so she assumed that she left it at home. Once we parked the vehicle we don't get back in the vehicle until it's time to come back and return the vehicle. Upon turning the vehicle back into its owner he greeted us and thanked us for using the service offered us another vehicle that he has the next time we want to rent and that was that. The very next day I'm out on the beach and I noticed that someone's trying to charge my credit card for $165 so I get on to the turo app to see what the problem was to find that the host has now taken our good review that he initially gave us and turned it into a bad review stating that there was a strong odor of smoke in the car which was a complete and utter lie. I barely allowed my passengers to have chips in a drink let alone smoke or vape in this guy's vehicle. Since he sees the pen he decides to lie on the app and say that he could smell a strong odor of smoke but if you know anyone who uses one of those devices they don't create a smell that's number one but number two this person sat next to me in the passenger seat as I was the driver and she never put that thing to her mouth or used it which is why she thought she left it at home when she couldn't find it. Fast forward I called the owner to clear that up he lies and tells me he's going to reach out to customer service which he never does so I reach out to customer service the next day and they tell me well he put a picture of a pen online so that's solidifies his lie that the car smells like smoke and from there you cannot get another answer from turo they constantly try to charge my card $165 every single day I reported them to my credit card company and now I'm going to report them to the Better Business Bureau if you can please do not use this company just go with a regular rental car company that won't scam you out of your money and then not allow you to talk to anybody while they're doing it. Lastly that $165 that they are trying to charge me for will be sent to collections which is going to kind of mess with my credit but won't really do any damage and then I have to dispute it from there because going through the app or calling is a complete and utter waste of your time they don't care to hear what you have to say they don't care if there's any proof they just don't care they want the money.
