Turo is a scam! I was in an accident where the other driver was 100% at fault. Turo charged me $4000 without getting an accident report, without getting the other parties insurance or mine! I called every day for a month and asked for a supervisor each time. I was told that there were no supervisors and it would take two to three months for them to get this settled. I got the same scripted answers for a month straight! I have yet to hear anything from them and now have had to pay a lawyer.

The care was not where the app said it should be, I spent 20 minutes looking for the car and the host implied I was stupid. The car stank of old sweaty unwashed human, and the offer was misleading in it's copy. I chose Turo over Zipcar for my 65 round trip journey since Turo offered a higher mileage limit which I was misled into believing that this included petrol. At the final stage of the booking process I was charged an additional fee, making the whole trip unaffordable and unsustainable. Complaints to Turo have been ignored and host has since sent fraudulent invoices for petrol and threatened me with debt recovery. Not paying a penny more to these unpleasant, unprofessional scammers.

I rented a minivan on turo. The vehicle was given to us dirty and unsafe. The vehicle had actual garbage in the vehicle and old underwear. It couldn't have been dirtier. I've attached pictures of the vehicle to show the trash in the beginning of the trip that shows how unclean the vehicle was and the underwear under the seat. We removed the trash so we could continue on our trip. The owner provided us an unsafe vehicle that had wipers that didn't work, a rear light turn signal that was broken, a side door that didn't lock, a window that wouldn't close properly, and a windshield that was so scratched from not replacing the wipers we couldn't see properly through it at night. I brought all of this up to the renter and they told me to fix it and they would reimburse me. I fixed the wipers and the turn signal so it was at least drive able. The wind shield being scratched makes this vehicle very unsafe. I cleaned the vehicle so we wouldn't be late for our vacation, otherwise I would have returned the vehicle. I didn't know about the vehicle safety issues until after I was on the road and it was too late to turn back and return the vehicle.

I was a host for Turo. The third party that rented my car returned my car after 3 weeks and 2 days with a broken driver side door, cracked mirror housing and dent in my bumper. When I reported the damage to Turo they denied my claim. So I had someone dive my car for 3 weeks and 2 days put over$1,500 dollars worth of damage on it and I made about $700. THIS BUSINESS SUCKS DON'T LIST YOUR CAR ON TURO

As a car owner, I would NOT recommend listing your car on TURO nor renting through them.  I had a horrible experience with a renter who scammed me and they refused to help me and allowed him to rip me off.  Any company allowing that to happen, can't be trusted.  I would assume they also won't help a renter who is scammed.  Their customer service is appalling.     Stay away

If I could’ve given it, no stars, I would have. This was way more of a pain in the ass than I ever expected. After I wandered the parking lot to find the car, I found out that the USB port was not working and could not charge my phone. They were good at communicating via messages until I told them it wasn’t working…crickets. drop off at Orlando airport is extremely confusing and look out for extra fees!

The support is VERY poor. When booking it round up the amount to the next full 24 hours but does not inform you ahead of time (maybe I should have known that - but I didn't.) I assumed that it would be easy to extend since I paid for it - that's my experience with real life car rental services - but I checked with the person offering the car. He said it would be fine to delay return until the full 24 hrs were up but that I would need to "extend" on the app. But Turo only allowed me an additional 3 hours. I called support expecting that it was a glitch - but it was intentional (an effort to get higher rates?). Something smells fishy with them.

What an awful experience. I rented a Suburban to take me and my family to my son's graduation. The Suburban was OK, not great, but good enough. We were driving home Sunday afternoon when it suddenly started overheating. We pulled into a restaurant and called Turo customer support who told me to wait for the two truck and then he would call me a Lyft to get me home. After the two truck left I called customer support back and they stated that the policy was to provide a Lyft voucher for $75. Unfortunately, the Lyft was $180 + tax and there were no drivers available. When I spoke to customer support again, they had no options. No replacement car, nothing but apologies. And there we were, stuck in a restaurant that was closing soon, with 5 family members, including my 80-year-old mother-in-law, and no way home. Turo left us completely stranded with no options to get home. We eventually called some friends to come get us and we ended up finally getting home at midnight. I believe that other auto rental organizations, Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, etc. offer a replacement car if yours breaks down. We'll be using some organization other than Turo in the future after this experience.

Unsafe service! Following numerous security checks and booking online, the host owner requested my driver's licence outside of the Turo checks, unfortunately I shared this but when I asked the host to share some identity so I could confirm who I was meeting, asTuro did not provide ample identification of the host, I had no picture or verifying details to allow me to safely meet and identify the host. The host outright refused to share any form of ID and so did Turo, and cancelled the trip after. I felt very unsafe as Turo through their process and policy allow host to obtain sensitive information about the guest but do not protect the guest by insisting that policy also allows the guest to request the same information or restrict requesting sensitive information by either host or guest being Turo collect this information as part of the registration process. This service is not safe and should not be used by anyone especially women as you don't know who you are meeting and cannot verify this.

This company is a scam I paid upfront for a car and the assumed host would not reply to my messages asking for the address so I could pick up the car. I have filed fraud charges with my bank to get my money back. Don’t use Turo.

I was recently charged $125 for a car I was unable to drive, due to broken seatbelts. I never moved the car, but then the host changed their mind about a refund. It’s a sham of a company.

I listed my vehicle on their platform. While the vehicle was out with one client, someone else booked it. The vehicle needed to be serviced when it came back from the first trip so I could not accommodate the second client at the time he requested and he could not wait for a later checkout. He canceled and because it was canceled I was penalized by turn. The payment for the first trip was 93.00. Turo penalized me 100.00. Needless to say I have de-listed my vehicle with them and will not be giving them a favorable review. Zero stars. Do not recommend. Will not use again. Horrible scammers. They do not protect the people who are actually doing the work and taking all the risks.

I was a big Turo fan until and had recommended 3 friends and they used Turo. But my last trip I asked if it would be a problem if I went over the 24 hours by 1 hour on my 4th day. I was told no problem with no mention of extra costs. Well my 24th hour would have ended at 10am on Saturday and I was able to get it in by 10am not 11am like I said I may need. I got my receipt and they added $125 charge for an additional day. I went thru the chats and got a case number then I got an email from ERICA on the Local Turo Support Team that said you requested past the 24 hour period so you get the full charge regardless of when you turned it in and nothing would be done. I didnt get a phone call or a response to my response to her message. Terrible customer service and I wont rent with Turo again and you should not either. If there is going to be an additional costs that should be mentioned up fron. TURO went from hero to zero quickly for me.

I booked a car Oakland airport. I left out of Seattle at on 20 November two hour flight from Seattle to Oakland. The host had my time I arrived in Oakland he had all my information what time the flight got in at 10 o’clock so that means I’ll get there in Oakland at 12 maybe a little after 12 so that’s considered the next day, the host drops the car off a day early so I get charged cancellation fee and I’m still waiting on the rest of my money. I ended up staying in the airport for seven hours got in at 12:05 had to wait for the renter car place to open up I got charged for something I didn’t do and they did not care. They still haven’t paid me my money yet. Please do not rent from these people. Every chance they get they will rob you and try to make it seem like it’s illegal. It was cheaper to go to enterprise at Oakland airport in Rent-A-Car , I save 200 and something dollars which I would’ve been paying almost $500 for a car from the 20th to the 24th. Be careful.
