About Virgin Experience Days:

Virgin Experience Days was launched in March 2001 under the name of Virgin Experience. Originally offering experiences to corporate clients as a way of incentivising staff and customers, the company rapidly expanded to bring the Virgin values of quality, innovation, value for money and fun to the consumer experience gift market.
The summer of 2003 was a real milestone for Virgin Experience. In our continual quest to bring the best experiences and unrivalled service, we joined forces with Acorne Sports. Founded in 1988, Acorne Sports is the original experience company and it’s their stamp of approval that confirms our pedigree and ability to deliver unforgettable experiences. Acorne ’s unrivalled reputation, knowledge and relationship with all of the featured centres made them the perfect partners for Virgin Experience, a company dedicated to making sure customers have the very best time. By teaming up, we are able to challenge the way every experience is provided and offer once-in-a-lifetime gifts backed up by friendly service staff with first-hand knowledge.

Warning to any potential customers. Booked tripple whammy as Christmas present for my sons, website recommends to book 6weeks in advance so tried to book 9 weeks before voucher expiry, nothing available until a month after they expire. Company not interested offered to extend vouchers for £60 even though not my fault I can't use the vouchers before they expire. Obviously not enough planned events to cover demand. What a con, don't waste your money.

I’m writing an email of disappointment, I treated my mother in law for a Virgin Experience Spa Day at Bannytynes Mansfield. My thoughts were that due to the brand it must be to a high standard. I will be emailing Virgin Experience Days about my experience as to begin with the promotion was not clear, it stated ‘Choice of two mini treatments lasting approx. 25 minutes’ this does not state whether it was altogether or each, myself thinking 12.5 minute a treatment is not long I assumed it would be each. The day and treatments we were very disappointment from start to finish, the food we paid for the afternoon tea, the sandwiches were dry, large and seemed that no care had been taken with them. The cakes were nice and there was variety, we ordered it for half 2 which we didn’t receive it until 2:50 when our treatments started at 3. So we had to rush them down. There was only 6 beds which the spar got busier and people were sleeping on them so there was no where to sit. When we arrived at the spa treatment room, they firstly put us in the same room even though when booking it I had asked for separate rooms and when I queried this apparently you had over booked so we had to share, which is not my problem that you have over booked. Then my mother in law had booked a 25 minutes of just a bamboo massage on her back, the therapist did half the time on her legs which wasn’t asked for nor did she want. My mother in law informed me after she was in pain the whole way through. Both therapists throughout our treatment did not ask if we were ok, how we like it or how we were enjoying it throughout. Both therapist made us feel unwelcome, rushed and like they couldn’t get us out quick enough. Which is the complete opposite feeling you should feel after a spa day.

Booked a hot air balloon flight which was cancelled six times. Virgin then sent a gift voucher to use instead . We couldn't book anything on the times we had off work which would be in our local area . The gift voucher then expired so we were left with nothing. Please don't waste your money.

Seems like a scam to me. Other vouchers we had received at the same time had long dates on them but Virgin Voucher went out of date a few months after receiving. No extension, no money back possible. Venues still open so just extra money for Virgin. Yes, I know we could have checked dates but why should we have? If your given money you don't check when that money expires.

I was bought a Triple Car Blast experience voucher for my 50th birthday in December. When I went to book the day in May there were only 3 days available before the voucher expired in August. I went to the venue and it was the wrong place. My main complaint is there is no reminder before the event of the venue, time, place, or a map. I've had a Segway voucher which was a much cheaper experience and received 2 reminders in the week before the experience, including all of the above! When I returned home my girlfriend tried to sort this out by speaking to Virgin experience/Acorne and nobody would help. I have terminal cancer so stressful situations are not good for me. We will not be booking any further experiences or dealing with Virgin in the future!!!

It was cancelled because the local company which operates the experience went into liquidation and those people who sold me the experience had not noticed anything was wrong.

Could not contact the racing company to arrange. Website down. Called Virgin and they explained that the company had gone into administration. Virgin agreed to refund but then sent vouchers. I have paid for a service Virgin could not provide. Not acceptable to send me a voucher. Will continue to ask for money back.

Upon arriving at the 2x supercar expierance and high speed passenger ride and photo. The event was poorly organised people were calling out random names repeatedly to take there turn to race for over 30 minutes even though were people ready drive right in front of them. Also the cars I drove were badly damaged Nissan had a windscreen smashed and Ferrari handbrake was broken and wing Mirrors cable tied on. When driving the instructors wouldn't even let me go fast. It is suppose to be a supercar expierance day and I didn't even get above 90 mph. I feel it was a waste of money.

It wasn't a track it was a simple straight road - you drive up and then you drive down . You are in each car for about 3 minutes absolute maximum - and that doing the 3 laps. You then have to wait around for the next car. The Extra lap with passenger deal is just in a rubbish car-you can't choose! my son was v disappointed after thinking he'd get to go as passenger with his dad in a Lamborghini. I paid over £200 and was driving for maximum of 15 minutes. Thought virgin would be better!

Sundowner cruise was late starting and early getting back, about a 1 1/2 hour trip not 2 hours as claimed. Everybody was crammed on the top deck with tables that weren't needed, my legs were crushed by a chair in front of me, couldn't see the views. Escaped to bar, maybe that was the idea, so they could make more money?

Purchased vouchers £89 for Beatles Exhibition & 3 course meal with wine at The Richmond Hotel, Liverpool. Very disappointed to find out that we could have got this for £85 if we had bought tickets, dinner & wine at the venues themselves. Poor value for money and after waiting for over 10 minutes, on phone at premium rate, to speak to customer services at Virgin Experience was told, "We have to make a profit."
