“Initial quality is good, ordered 305 lb set bumper plates with 28.5 standard olympic bar & oso bar clamps, the bumper plates have very low bounce. Worth it.”

“Very good setup. 305 lb with econo bar, very pleased with the low bounce when dropped from overhead. The bar is a little stiff and not much spin but it is a very good bar for the price for your garage gym. Only drawback are the stickers inside the plates where it slides on the bar. It would've been better if they were on the plate and not inside the metal collar, for lack of a better word. Definitely recommend to someone else.”

Hi Mindy, Thanks for your review. A new bar should be tight and bushing bars do not spin as much as bearing bars. After the bar is used some it will spin better. If a bushing bar spins really well out of the box it is a result of loose tolerances. That can have a negative impact over time. The inspection stickers do not adhere to rubber that well. You should be able to peel the small stickers off by hand. Please let us know how the bar spins after it has been used a bit.

“Partial order shipped without any notification that some items were backordered,, so I was surprised to find a box with only some of the things I ordered. Regarding a different order, not very communicative regarding estimated ship times on a pretty expensive order for a set of Vulcan Alpha plates. Just some better customer service/communication would be greatly appreciated.”

“I like the Swiss specialty bar I got, but I do have a couple complaints. After just a couple times of use the area where you slide the weights on is already showing signs of wear and I'm not some guy that lifts TONS of weight. This isn't a big deal as I didn't buy it to be pretty, but it is a little disheartening. Also, one of the plastic pieces on the end of the bar was destroyed apparently during shipping. Again, it isn't a big deal as the bar doesn't need the plastic piece, but maybe the bar should be packed a little better. These are the reasons I am giving 4 stars and not 5. The bar is rack-able and I am enjoying benching with it as I am able to use a neutral grip and the price was decent. So overall I am pleased and would recommend buying it. The rack-able component was the reason I bought the Swiss bar from you guys, so thank you for making it rack-able.”

Hi, Thanks for your review. Powder coat is plastic based coating that is baked onto the steel. It will come off with metal to metal contact. This is normal for this product.

“I ordered the Vulcan Standard 28.5 mm Olympic Bar and all I can say is that this bar is anything but standard. The bar has a very nice finish and the sleeves spin like butter. The knurling feels really good in my hands and isn't overly aggressive. The shipping was very fast and the packaging was very secure. In fact, the only negative I have is that it took me a bit of time to get it out of the package.”

“I have purchased several items from Vulcan Strength for my home gym. I ordered this 3 X 3 flat bench and the bench was delivered in less than 36 hrs. I'm 2 states away. The bench is definitely over built and super strong and very stable with the wide stance. The bench pad is 47.5" long (not 44" like the pict), 12" wide, 17.5" off the floor and the legs are 21.5' wide. Everything aligned perfectly and assembly took 15 minutes. This bench is built like a tank. I would absolutely buy this bench again. $199 with free shipping, DO IT”

“Vulcan Strength Training Systems continually impresses me. They have been my go-to fitness equipment source for close to 3 years now and I haven't ever been disappointed with any of their products. I'm especially happy with their Olympic barbells and bumper plates. Vulcan's ever-expanding barbell line is evidence that the company takes customer feedback very seriously. With each new bar, Vulcan provides new specifications and improved designs to their customers to suit everyone's needs. Quality is never sacrificed with Vulcan's innovation. I absolutely love lifting with my Vulcan V3 Elite and although I have zero complaints about my Vulcan Professional Bearing Barbell, I know that more recent versions of this model boasts fine-tuned design improvements. Smooth spin, the right texture of knurling, an appreciable balance of shaft whip and rigidity, and top-notch quality overall. I have trained and competed with a number of Vulcan bumper plates. The Vulcan color kilogram training plates are of excellent quality and can really take a beating and hardly bouce when dropped. Myself and other weightlifters are especially pleased with the quality of the 10kg training bumper plate. The Vulcan Absolute Competition Bumper Plates are truly an impressive looking set. They load/unload with ease, and fit together tightly on the bar. The complete competiton set doesn't budge when loaded and tightened correctly. I have yet to see any physical breakdown of these plates after extensive use. My favorite set of bumper plates is most definitely the Vulcan Alpha Bumper Plates. This particular product is a fine example of true innovation. The unique and original rubber composition addresses both the noise and bouce problem many weightlifters/athletes encounter while training. The Alphas are everything Vulcan says they are. They will not disappoint. The other items I use reguarly from Vulcan - such as strength bands, sandbags, slam balls, muscle floss to name a few - are also of excellent quality. I honestly would recommend every product Vulcan offers! I also want to mention Vulcan's great customer service. They are easily reachable and make sure customer needs are met. I don't think a single question I directed at their personnell ever went unanswered which really is a positive reflection of Vulcan Strength. They remain relevant in the weightlifting/cross fit/fitness world even though they are a small business (which is no small feat). Vulcan truly owns what they do.”

“I purchased the Vulcan Standard 28.5 mm olympic bar and a set of black bumpers for my garage gym. I had explored several alternatives and couldn't be happier with my decision to go with Vulcan. The bar and plates are extremely high quality and Vulcan's customer service was great in quickly responding to the questions I had prior to buying. My items arrived well-packaged and were delivered less than 24 hours after placing my order - I live in NC but still! Do yourself a favor and consider Vulcan next time you are in the market for strength training equipment, you will not be disappointed.”
