Awful. The online banking is comical. They can’t even manage to mail me a new debit card, attempted 4+ times. This bank is an absolute joke, I’ve been a member for 30+ years and can’t believe how bad it is now

The team in my bio was reliable, professional, and got real results. They helped me recover funds I lost to a scam. I highly recommend their help.

It’s absolutely crazy that you have to spend your entire Saturday in line trying to get your own funds from the bank. The usage of personnel is crazy, instead of using all personnel to help expedite transactions, this organization use individuals to hold the door instead of assisting others. I was at the drive thru for of 30 minutes waiting to be served. This is too much!!

My husband and I have been with VyStar for about 15 years. We've had two auto loans, a line of credit, a HELOC, credit cards, and our last mortgage with them, all paid in full. We've had our business accounts with them in the past and on average we had about 6 different accounts open at one time, including our retirement accounts. We've never had a late payment, and used them for all our banking and loan needs over the years. To say the least we were very loyal members. We used to love VyStar for their outstanding customer service. They made you feel valued as a member. But with the new changes they've made (and the fact they are growing too quickly in my opinion) they have become more like a bank in recent years and we've had nothing but issues. I understand growth and progress is important for a company, but they've gotten away from what matters with their members and care more about making money. One of the biggest issues we've had is with terrible customer service. The banks stopped doing a lot of transactions in branches so now that you have to call the call center, the wait times had increased significantly. The biggest customer service issues I've had though has been with their loan officers while trying to secure a loan for a new build. These loan officers are "working from home" but never are actually home when you call during normal business hours. We were given incorrect information on multiple occasions, or they were not communicating vital information at all, which affected our loan process in a negative way. They were always forgetting to return emails and phone calls to questions we had and we were having to resend emails and texts with the same information over and over because they would forget or misplaced information. There were inconsistencies with information given by different loan officers all together. They were also making us jump through ridiculous hoops with property we own out right, when no other bank or credit union we spoke to required us to do the same. In fact, the property appraiser and land surveyor had never heard of the things VyStar was requesting in their 30 years of business. We've had them do things like fail to send out expired debit card replacements, and then not allow us to get a replacement printed inside a branch so we had to wait another 10 business days to receive a new card. We've had issues with wire transfers while trying to purchase land (being given confirmation letter that the transfer took place in a branch, but it was never actually initiated). They reported to the credit bureaus that we were a year late paying off our last mortgage when we sold our house. I had to provide documentation that they originally sent me proving we paid our mortgage off as soon as we closed on the sale of our home. We've had ongoing issues with their online banking system after they made changes. The list goes on and on. After much consideration, we were so discouraged by the constant mistakes and lack of customer service, especially trying to to secure a new construction loan with them, my husband and I decided to pull all our accounts and money and go to another credit union. Sadly, VyStar is no longer a member oriented credit union.

Vystar is horrible, always issues with online or mobile banking. Needed to transfer money today and did not get done. You can't count on conducting business that way. If you call them it takes forever to get someone on the phone, they are impossible!

On March 21st, I visited the VyStar branch in St. Augustine (Ponce De Leon Blvd). While there, I canceled my business savings-secured credit card, applied for a new card, and opened a business checking account. I had a 750+ credit score based on a personal VyStar credit card I held for over four years. That card was canceled last year, and after doing so, my credit score dropped to zero. When I asked VyStar, they told me they don’t report a credit score once a card is inactive or canceled. However, according to every other bank and credit bureau I’ve spoken to, that’s not how credit reporting works. If I had years of credit history, that data should remain on my report for up to 10 years, even after the card is closed. A score might drop, but it shouldn’t become “unscorable” in less than a year. Because of this zero score, VyStar denied my new credit card application. They opened the checking account but did not cancel the secured credit card—which still has $5,000 tied to it. I’ve called multiple times (April 2nd, 6th, 11th, and 14th) to have the card closed and the funds returned. Each time, I was told it would be handled, but the card is still active and the money hasn't been moved. No one has followed up, and I’ve received no explanation for the delay or when it will actually be resolved. They still have my $5,000 and have yet to transfer it to my savings.

I had the most insensitive, lack of any compassion, and morally corrupt experience with this credit union…and I have never been late on a payment! It was an insurance issue. They weren’t willing to work with us at all. They told me they don’t send out emails, only physical mail. The amount of money we have to pay to keep our RV (again, of which we’ve never been late paying on), is obscene and a reminder of the greed that permeates the air. I will never work with this bank again and will never recommend them to anyone!

After years of banking , two mortgages, and car loans, I am closing all my accounts, even my small business accounts. NO CUSTOMER service any more 30 to 40 minutes to do simple transaction. Both Normandy and chaffe rd locations.. we don't need a door greater. We need tellers and speedy knowledgeable staff

I withdrew $10,000 of my own money and they marked it as fraud and locked my account out. Subsequently, two of my social security payments did not go through costing me $5,600

NO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I left voicemail with no return call from VyStar although the voicemail claimed I would receive a call by end of business day. My account was locked although I submitted all requested documentation. I had to go to branch and threatened to close account if not resolved on the spot. Everyone I spoke with was very polite while NOT being helpful until the threatened to close account.

I have been a member for almost two years. I was at the grocery store and went over a $1 and was charged a $29 fee. I tried calling customer service and spoke to “ Rachel “ and all she could say is that I have asked in the past 12 months for a credit. If the bank would deposit and credit in a timely manner. I would have not had to ask. But for a $1…

I had a car loan from Vystar and paid it off earlier than the actual date. They gave me the payoff amount and so I gave them exactly that amount thinking my car will be paid off. After a month, I received a bill saying I need to pay my monthly payment. I called them because I know I already paid it off. I learned that they did not pay off my car but put the money in my savings account which has an initial deposit of $5. They finally paid off my car and I thought that was it. Later, I received a statement saying that I owe them $14.02. I called and asked why. It took several calls before they could figure it out. It was because I get charged a finance fee every time I have to pay. Now instead of me paying that fee once when I first called, I have to pay it for the second time when they finally paid off the car loan. I disputed that because why would I pay for someone else's mistake. Despite many calls, respectful ones, they said they cannot change it so I have to pay for it. I said okay i will pay for it because I don't want to continue with outstanding debts always receiving statements that I owe them. I will pay it off but I will have to warn people this can happen to them and that I am not happy about this.

Vystar banking services continue to disappoint. Once again walked in the local Ortega branch of 35 years, understaffed and only two tellers helping 20 customers. Sent multiple emails with no reply. They don't even deserve one star. What is going on? Where is their leadership? They don't care about their customers. Time to find a new bank.

The web functionality is the worst of any credit union I've been a member of. I used to be able to transfer money to my HSA with no problem. That's gone now. Also, I was able to transfer money from my HELOC with no problem. That functionality is gone as well. Looking for a better CU at this point. Plus it is impossible to leave a message. Their chat feature has a long wait period. Dumb.

They outsourced their loan department. I made several large principal payments in December. One day they all showed up as misapplied payment. The funds were never returned to me or applied to my loan. I called once last week and they said they would get back to me. It has been 5 business days. Their mortgage department is too busy to accept phone calls.
