Stayed a lodge with a hot tub. Hot tub was lovely. The lodge was lovely and warm. We had everything we needed. Tried the on site swimming pool which was nice and warm. Nice for a couple of days but kids would get bored for any longer.

Great campsite... everything was what I would expect of somewhere so we’ll revered... However... A push button water tap with no hose attachment - that just sprays everywhere - to fill a 50 litre caravan water container.... really? Come on guys... I know it’s eco, but I wasted double what I actually used with the over spray, and I was soaked!! Everything else really great - but this needs addressing!!

Great place spoiled by having to pay for decent internet and that it is part of a marketing company that now has my details for sending sales information which I don’t want.

Great centre - attractive lodge (Spa 3) with big lounge-dining-kitchen area. Lovely view of the marshes. Good to have free ferry to Carlton Marsh walk. Let-downs - not enough chlorine in hot tub, so it went smelly and murkey after 2 days, which I’ve never seen before. Beds uncomfortabe and creaky/wobbly.

We had a very nice stay as usual, it was peaceful, the site was tidy, the pitch very nice and we enjoyed using the swimming pool and visiting the waveney Inn too. The only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is that the jacuzzi was out of order (which looked quite long term) and more than half of the shower rooms were out of order which meant there were not enough for my family to have a shower at the same time, even when it wasn't busy.

Friendly staff and the hot tub facility was good. Bath robes and slippers were a lovely touch. Pillows were hard and uncomfortable. Not the cleanest, lots of dust around curtains and black mould in shower area. Shower did got get very warm unless you ran a tap in the sink, which was rather strange! Shutter on bathroom door/window was filthy. Decor was modern and pretty, I especially liked the stone/bricked effect on the wall. Overall, a good stay, just wished the cleaning was of better standard.

Lovely place but you will need a car as it’s a bit remote.

Thanks for the review, Sharon. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do about our remote location, but sometimes you need to be prepared to go off the beaten track if you wish to find a hidden gem :)

Lovely place, our second time staying in the burgh staithe lodge. Very clean generally however it is starting to look very tired. The sofas and arm chairs all need replacing ASAP as all the springs have gone in all of them and they are extremely uncomfortable. Curtains and cushions need a good wash as full of dust and are dirty. Suggestion.... need hooks on back of bedroom doors for dressing gowns etc. Above all an excellent stay and already booked it for next year. Abby and Lauren at the Waveney pub were excellent help and cheerful and polite.

We had a lovely stay. The lodge was very spacious & clean. Could do with some pegs and a light by the hot tub. Also an electric kettle!! Apart from that it was a great experience.

We had a lovely welcome when we arrived, The lodge was clean and well prepared for us the hot tub was nice and hot,, Lovely welcome goodies and really crispy clean bedding and wonderful fluffy white towels,,, We weren’t keen on the one wall being purple in the dining area, 2 sacks and 3 dishwasher tablets not enough if you don’t take it with you, you need to buy from shop, The pool was great, pub nice very quiet though and meals expensive we thought, This place is great for a family to have a great relaxing weekend, no one bothers you, the heating system is fantastic so warm and cosy,,

Very nice weekend away. However could do with more lights at the hot tub to use when it get dark (winter time), an electric kettle and late check out time, or state these are not available when booking. Hot tub also too open, everyone was looking at you when walking and driving past. Only used once by some of our party due to this reason. As driving 2 and half hours away then to be told and see did put a little downer on the weekend.

Thank you for your comments. We've taken them on board, and hope to do something about the night time lighting soon, however, we have to be careful as we are right next to a nature reserve, so we cannot do too much that would disturb or distract from the view from the marshes. Still, we look to do what we can to improve visibility in the dark. We hope you had a nice time regardless :)

Stayed with my husband and two year old, nice lodge with clean comfortable rooms. My only criticism is that in January the walk across the deck to the hot tub was a bit cold, I couldn’t understand why the sliding door wasn’t next to the hot tub but that’s all I could find that bothered me a little and there isn’t much that can be done about that

We had such a lovely and peaceful weekend, just what we needed to relax. The lodge had everything we needed plus extras and the hot tub was brilliant. The boat that took you to the other side of the river was a lovely little touch too. The only slight disappointment was with the Waveney inn pub, on the morning we left we arrived for breakfast just before 10 am but they had stopped doing breakfasts so had to go elsewhere. However the food at dinner was excellent and reasonably priced and staff were very helpful.

Excellent midweek break. Lodges clean, well equipped and warm. On site restaurant and pub serving good food. Lovely quiet location for relaxation. Lots of good walks for your dog mine was made very welcome too. Would certainly recommend and I will return.

The lodge was beautiful, couldn’t fault it. :) The pool was great to have on site but was dissapointed the jacuzzi didn’t work. We had lunch in the Waverney Inn after your description of it being so positive and was sorely horrified. We spent £170 on a meal we barely touched due to it being terribly cooked and freezing cold when it got to us. I wouldn’t recommend that as a restaurant to any customers. Overall a great time as the lodge and hot tub was all we were after.

Hi Toni, sorry to hear about the issues you had regarding the food at The Waveney Inn, and we're doing our best to get the jacuzzi up and running as soon as possible. We're glad you had a nice time, though, and hope to see you again soon :)

Lovely lodge and great for a weekend away. Pool was a little smaller than expected. Was excited to take our 6 month old puppy but disappointed on arrival to find he was not allowed past the entrance to the bedrooms. Would of liked clearer information regarding this prior to booking as would not of taken him knowing this. As he is only a puppy whilst he is very good he does not like to be on his own which resulted in one of us sleeping on the sofa throughout the weekend

Hi Joanne, thanks for your review, and for highlighting the issue about the level of available information regarding bringing dogs into our pet-friendly lodges. It's something we'll take a look at as we strive to improve! We're pleased that you had a nice time, and hope to see you again soon :)

A lovely place to stay ; friendly staff . We only stayed here as it is 3 min away from granddad's house and we had a family event and there wasn't space there. Lovely room. Easy access and clean. Awesome food at the pub. Great service. Happy to accommodate if we were late in or late out due to children. A lovely stay.
