“Nice, peaceful location and a convenient base for exploring the local area. Very pleasant staff and good size rooms in the hotel - excellent value. I was worried it might feel a bit like a holiday camp but not at all, even over the Easter period. Lots of families staying but really not an issue. Will probably return again sometime and hire a boat.”

“Beautiful setting and a lovely clean and tidy site. Showers were great, loo roll could do with topping up more often though. Pool was very clean and child friendly with a good viewing area and coffee machine. The shop was quite poorly stocked and very expensive but all in all a great site with loads to do for the kids. Will be going back for sure.”

“Love it here. Only issue I found during this stay, was on Easter Sunday the toilets were dirty and some had run out of paper! One toilet had a broken hairdryer with pieces on the floor! Would have given a very good score if the toilets had been cleaned!”

“This is our 3rd time at Waveney but this we stayed in the Oulton which needs a little maintenance. Fridge had no shelf for milk/drinks. Main bed, dripped on the right side. Pub menu very limited compared to before. But the site is lovely as ever.”

“Great location and quiet. Food in Waveney Inn was very good. Reception helpful and ferry was easy to arrange. Hot tub was a hit!”

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Wavney river centre in a yurt. Clean showers and toilets. Great washing up area. Children enjoyed the swimming pool and playground. We would definitely return.”

“Positives: Friendly staff, problems fixed quickly, everything close by, great play area for the kids Negatives: Kettle cut out electricity unless everything else was turned off, pool and shop not open longer, had to pay extra for short ferry, not much space in the pod to move around”

“We had a lovely stay for a couple of nights, food is great, staff are friendly, pool is lovely and warm too... Only thing I'd say is could do with more lockers for swimming which isn't major just a bit awkward when busy. Will definitely come and stay again.”

“Had a great time thanks. Bedrooms a bit cramp and dusty. Living room great space. Overall the break Could be improved with better infor pack like a map and places to cycle etc. Also kitchen utensils some missing and short of glasses, staff responded quickly and supplied. Thanks”

“Good stay perfect for large groups we stayed in the Burgh Straith. Could of been a little cleaner but otherwise perfect. Swimming pool was great although the spa pool wasn’t working. Great facilities service was friendly and resolved problems quickly. Would stay again”

“We had a lovely time, everywhere was very clean and staff were friendly. Little of a shame that the jacuzzi wasn’t open and not much entertainment. Overall, a very relaxing trip! I would recommend to stay in a yurt.”

“Our second stay at Waveney, first in the Hannaford, and recently in Bungay. Both very different but clean and tidy and comfortable. Nice and quiet and always relaxing. Only disappointment was on the Thursday night we couldn’t have an early meal and were refused dinner at 17:00, and told to come back for 18:00. Maybe there’s a valid reason? Was just a shame as quite a few family’s were turned away who with small children 17:00 is a nice time to eat. However, another lovely week, and see you again soon. Kindest,”

“Facilities were very clean. Our Yurt was cosy, however there were cobwebs in the drawers and the underneath of the beds were not clean. The mini wildlife area was very shabby. There was no information regarding the pool bar opening times. Would be nice if dogs were not allowed to be left in caravans all day barking!”

“Lovely place to stay. The yurts were really comfy and cosy. The facilities were so clean. The only thing that I was disappointed with was the mini wildlife area, it looked really shabby. Would be interesting to know if the pool bar ever opens?”

“Lovely room, lovely view. Staff very helpful and friendly. Only minor complaint was that I didn't get my cereal for breakfast and my husband didn't get his wholemeal toast, they gave him white. Both minor complaints and would definitely stay here again.”

“We really enjoyed our stay this weekend, even though it threw it down this morning, but we can't account for the weather! The Waveney Inn was great last night, the pool made for a very enjoyable afternoon. The only issue we found was that the secret garden has a fence against the bank edge that has fallen down and left exposed nails and screws sticking up close to where the kids were playing and this clearly needs attention. We'll be back!”

“Really loved the cosyness of the Escspe Pod and the way it looked over the playground so we can keep an eye on our kids while they play. Loved using the swimming pool and that it was included in the price. It is the reason we chose to stay here. Pool was good except there were some broken lockers in the pool area and the floor really needed mopping, spa pool was not working. Could not get a coffee before 9am though.. It should open earlier!”
