“We had an enjoyable 1 week stay at Waveney River Centre. The weather was really good so that helped a lot. The lodge we hired namely the Retreat Spa 2 was ideal although the three of us are all tall people and the beds were a little on the short side due to the configurations of the bedrooms. We thought that the Waveney Inn was a tad expensive as were the groceries in the nearby shop. There was a feeling of isolation in that access to the centre was via narrow lanes and the nearest shopping area was Beccles which would have been difficult to get to without a car. The heated indoor pool was good and the location (with boating facilities) was very nice. If we lived nearer to the centre we would probably re-book another stay but as it is we had a minimum 7 hour drive by car both ways so that would rule it out.”

“We really enjoyed our relaxing stay here. The weather was beautiful and the site was very quiet. We went on a walk across the reserve after being ferried across the river and staff were helpful with suggestions for where to go. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the little extras in our lodge were a pleasant surprise. We loved our hot tub, the only disappointment was that it did not reach the correct temperature until the day after we checked in and a man came and turned it off and drained it about 8:20am on our last day- we weren't due to check out until 9:30am and were about to go in it!”

“The site is lovely in a beautiful setting. Although we did not use the swimming pool or public house facilities the rest were very good. Disappointed that a £100.00 deposit per pitch is payable and not returned until ONE WEEK after departure if the site is satisfied with our behavior. We find this quite extreme and appreciate if certain parties may cause damage to property or disturbance that you feel this is necessary and distinguishing such parties is difficult but we feel the majority of your clients would be respectable people. A better approach maybe an agreement to hold details in the case of a dispute. So, Although we loved the site we will not be returning due to this policy.”

“We had a really nice holiday as always, but it was let down by one thing, and that is one of the ladies in the restaurant I didn’t get her name but her and her friend were new there and it was the larger light haired one she was quite rude and not very helpful where as everybody else was excellent. Other than that it was great, and it wont stop us from coming again.”

“Nice site and good facilities, ideal base to explore the countryside from weather on foot on bike or by car. On site swimming pool and jacuzzi to relax in. The only downside is poor maintenance, locks missing off toilet and shower doors, extractor fans not working leaving wetrooms damp.”

“The accommodation was very good but in need of more mugs,wifi bad.The driveway was very bad with potholes but would return it has not spoilt our holiday.hot tub fantastic.”

“Clean shower and toilet blocks with plenty of hot water. Some minor repairs needed to bring this site up to scratch, leaky taps and plugs in sinks that don’t seal. Friendly and knowledgable staff in all departments and lovely walks across the river.”

“Perfect place to spend a couple of days in our motorhome. Nice pitches with EHU, lovely clean shower block with plenty of hot water. Great swimming pool. Would certainly go back to Waveney River Centre.”

“Spent 8 nights camping last week, site and staff excellant, quality in the restaurant excellant, day boat rental cost(skipper) ok. Clean site, pool very good, hot tub had various temperatures. Looking forward to a week next year.”

“A very friendly welcome from the check in lady took time to explain the key fob she escorted us to our ground floor room which was huge and clean with a great view overlooking the fields,the bed was so comfy and nicely made up with an added bonus of a large wet room which was spotless,we stayed for two nights which was enjoyable all the staff at the bar-restaurant area we also friendly the food was good and plenty on the style of pub grub which was fine for us,I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.”

“We have just had a 2 day stay at the Hotel. All went well until Sunday morning when we had to order at the bar, & not have the order taken at our table. After a long wait to place our order it had not arrived after 45 minutes and we had to leave without having it. On complaining to the restuarant staff they commented that it was due to `staff shortage` which I find a totally unacceptable excuse for poor service. This was a shame as up until then we had enjoyed our stay & found the staff friendly & helpful in both reception & at the Inn. We will return but rent a lodge & eat elsewhere What a shame to end our stay with such a bad experience.”

“The accommodation is very good quality, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom and generous facilities in the room. Storage excellent Fab views from the room on first floor Good food in the restaurant/bar on site Small children allowed to run free in the bar area with hot food/drinks being carried through No designated disabled parking visible, however other parking is close by”

“The location is peaceful, tidy and clean. The room was very nice with a big bathroom, but the big window was right next to the path to reception! The window is covered with a screening film so it was private enough, but the view was then obstructed and it was a bit weird.”

“Review would have been very good but the breakfast let it down. For a room costing £110 per night I would have expected far more choice at breakfast eg fruit juice, fruit, yoghurt etc - not just a cooked option.”
