A great campsite with good facilities, good staff and fantastic river access, I recommend to all.

We camped for 3 nights over Aug Bank Holiday and the site itself was lovely and in such a great location. The biggest nuisance we had whilst there were the Wasps - literally everywhere. I was stung within 30mins of arriving and was constantly worried about my 3yr old son and dog who kept snapping at them - that said, I don't know what site management were doing to address the issue, they may have been working hard at it behind the scenes - but we saw no signs of pest control. We didn't realise until we arrived that the onsite shop was permanently closed ( due to Covid ) - had we known we would've stopped at a supermarket on the way in. There was a small kiosk open but the supplies were very limited - as were the opening times, opening at 9am on a camp site seems late to me with most campers being early risers. (?) I had read reviews of the ground being tough for camping and indeed we also found this to be the case. The ground wasn't too hard as such, but very rocky. We bent half a dozen pegs trying to get the tent up and really struggled to find ground we could penetrate. So good quality, hard wearing pegs are a must. That said, the pitch was very generous in size - we had a good sized 2 roomed tent, a gazebo and the car, comfortably. The electric hook up was ideal ( although the designated plugs seem to be on the wrong side of the pitch, farthest away from the tent ). The childrens play area was great, the swimming pool was lovely and managed Covid very well. The toilets, showers and washing and laundry facilities were top notch and the Waveney Inn was exactly as you would expect from a gastro pub - although prior to our visit I had tried for 4 days to ring the pub to book a table for the night we arrived. There was never an answer and the mailbox was full, so unable to leave a message. I emailed via the contact us form on the website and still have not had any reply. Luckily, I walked to the pub as soon as we arrived and was able to book in. Views were great from all around the site. We hired a boat for a day which was great fun despite the awful weather... Overall, we would return to WRC without much hesitation, but with better tent pegs and armed for wasps.

We arrived with another couple for a pintail pitch, we were on 10 and our friends were on 8, we asked if we could be together as there was no one set up on 9, we were told no even though would have been very simple to swap whoever was in 9 with my friends in 8. The people who had pitch 9 arrived shortly after us and as my friends hadn’t set up we asked if they wouldn’t mind swapping and they said yes, we don’t see why reception couldn’t have done this for us and saved us the awkwardness of having to ask complete strangers who could have been as difficult as reception and said no. The facilities were okay but had a constant smell of either fish or sewers especially the ones that face the car park and shop. There was also only 1 block of showers which we felt was inadequate for the amount of people you had staying when you take into consideration the yurts, caravan pitches and camping pitches. We went in the Waveney Inn and was met with staff who were quite rude when we walked up to a bit that we was apparently not allowed up to when there was no signs stating this, so we wasn’t to know and as no one had greeted us at the door we were unaware as to where to wait. When we got to our table we asked for a menu, was told “they are over there” and then no one even bothered to ask what we wanted to order therefore we didn’t bother, paid for our drinks and got a dominoes pizza delivered instead! This was our first visit to Waveney River Centre and will most probably be our last.

Fantastic 2 night stay at the River center, first night was comftable heaters provided great warmth in the yurt. We hired a boat whilst on our trip which was great fun! Second night was a rainy night yurt roof had some wet patches from the rain which caused leak concerns. Other than that facilities were all clean and well maintained, shop was well stocked and the waveny Inn had some delicious food.

We did a couple of nights in one of the yurts and it was lovely. ONE downside only - not as 'reclusive' as the website led us to believe. The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly. The site was really clean and the whole range of facilities were very well maintained. Loved sleeping in the yurt; comfy bed, lots of storage space and really clean and well kept. Such a shame it was too hot to use the log burner. We had a bit of a dodgy meal at the pub but the staff couldn't do more to rectify the problems and I'm sure it was a one off. Would defo. visit again.

Staff were not rude but uninterested. They sounded miserable. The pod was dirty and uncomfortable. The showers and toilets smelt horrendous and we disgustingly unclean. This was not a COVID safe venue.

Small pitches very close together. Toilet and shower blocks not cleaned regularly enough, very noisy until late at night from the yurts. Smoking and swearing on site. Bin areas very dirty. Lovely site could be improved.

Good facilities, clean and tidy. Would have been really good to have been warned about the car park flooding (which evidently happens quite a lot).

We enjoyed our stay although there were a few issues. The could not get reception on the tv someone came an fixed this but it went off again not sure what the issue was, as we were out the last couple of nights we didn't bother anyone to fix it again. We asked for a plug for the kitchen sink but this never turned up. Cleaning: Our children found a mouldy spoon in their bedroom on our last day, this did concern me as we though that we couldn't get into till five although it ended up being six, due to deep cleaning. The site overall is lovely and we enjoyed out stay, we just felt for the money we had paid the lodge would have been to a higher standard, we have stayed at several lodges that have been at a lower cost but to a much higher standard. Thanks

Nice quiet setting but with four children of ages 20 months to 15 years old there wasnt much really to do around the immediate area to keep them amused but nice beaches near by for days out, sort of assumed we could go out for walks on the centres locations but there wasnt any. We had the cows right behind us and could see the boats from the decking so nice views for us parents

What a lovely camp site. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The pitches are really good and the it’s the best shower block I’ve used. Really good with its location to the broads. Loved the pub delivery service direct to your pitch

We normally love the Waveney River Centre but surprised to find out we had been allocated Coot 1 which has a view of the hedge, despite requesting a river view pitch. I don’t understand how the price for this pitch is the same as the others.... Just another point it now seems to attract roundly clouds since the yurts were built if you are looking for a quite camp this is not for you.

Very hard to find, down a one way track but once there it was lovely, the reception staff were very helpful.

We stayed in Loddon Lodge. The centre is nice and has the bonus of pub / restaurant and pool. We used the online ordering service and it was nice having food delivered to your accommodation. Although the site was busy - lodges, campers and caravaners it was quiet. The river is on your doorstep, however if you want a day boat or canoe - book in advance. The site is accessed down some narrow country lanes and the only disadvantage is the time it takes to get anywhere. Beccles is 8 miles away and is a trip of about 20 - 25 minutes by car. Morrison’s, Tesco and Aldi all close together. Plenty of walks close by. Staff are polite and helpful. Had a nice restful week

We loved our stay only feedback I can give is we stayed in pintail and was told it was a river view so we hoped to sit out on the river but it was full of reeds so you can’t actually see it. We took a canoe out and was told we had till 530 by staff to then get called asking where we are as it needed back at 5pm. After this we looked forward to a drink at the Waveney but unfortunately this was not possible neither and we called for take away food at 830pm but they told us it finished at 8. (The menu says 12-9). It was our first time camping and we live locally so just wanted to try the experience despite all of the above and the awful downpour we still enjoyed it.

It is a beautiful area, very calm and relaxing. The Penthouse View accommodation was spacious and very clean. I would thoroughly recommend Waveney River Centre for a relaxing break and it is in an excellent position for visiting places of interest in that area.
