I thought I was purchasing the best, NOT!! After a short five years a string of lights went out. I spent a significant amount of time changing fuses and checking bulbs, no good. Suffered with it. This year one strand in each of the three sections were out. Spent three hours attempting to resolve. No go. Tree is now in the trash. When Balsam Hill emailed me after seeing the poor review, all they wanted to do is get me back on their website and order another tree. Ya Right?? For the price of this tree you can buy 3 at a discount store. At least if they lasted only five years you wouldn't be upset.

This is the worst tree. Every year when I put it up, I again say how much I hate this tree. Lights are always going out. It does not look real like they claim. I have had it 3 years. I have another tree that I have had for 20 years, which did not cost near as much, and looks much better. I will never buy from Balsam Hill again.

After the second year, I had problems. They sent me a new controller and I am hopeful that it will solve the problems. It took me over 1 hour with customer service to diagnose the problem. I am sorry I bought one.

First let me start by saying I loved my tree, it was beautiful the first 3 years, very easy to assemble. It was a prelit tree, when you attach each section, it lights up. I called the company last year, the 4th year, warranty was only good for 3 years, because I noticed we had a lot of lights out. Ultimately, after trying several things, the man I spoke with was unable to resolve the problem. This year more lights are out so I called again. After chatting about the problem the person told me it sounded like a strand was out (even though the lights that were out spanned all sections) to remove the strand and add my own lights. I tried to remove the strand and when I got to the plug and unplugged it other lights went out. So now I have a partial strand removed only to find out that the advice given was incorrect. So I called and was told I shouldn’t have tried to remove the strand. I also asked why my master bulbs would blink off every time I tried to replace one and was told I have to unplug the tree first then replace it. So I wanted to place an order for more master bulbs…THEY DON’T HAVE ANY and expect them later this month. It is 5 weeks into Christmas and they DON’T HAVE ANY MASTER BULBS, the ones that light up the strand. This is unexceptionable. The trees are too sensitive, if a bulb goes out and you don’t notice and change it quickly it causes other bulbs to burn out, you have to unplug the tree to change the master bulb, if you don’t it burns out the new bulb and now this close to Christmas they don’t have any master bulbs. Very disappointed, these trees are too expensive to have this kind of trouble, conveniently after the warranty has expired! Now I have a tree with a partial string of lights disconnected from the branches and hanging from the tree, no master bulb to rectify some of the problem and the tree should’ve been fully decorated by now! Again, very disappointed, no real help from customer service, no interest in any compensation. I used live chat which told me to remove the strand and telephone who told me I shouldn’t have removed the strand and to unplug the tree to replace the master bulb.

Lights lasted 3 years and as soon as warranty was over, the top of tree has clear light and the bottom is colored. After 5 calls, no one can help solve the problem. Tons of the lights are just a touch of color at base. They sent me a new controller which did not solve problem. I have spent hours checking all connectors. My $59 tree in another room has lasted 15 years. So very sad that this tree has not lasted the 8-10 years they advertise.

Customer service is rude and unprofessional. They strive for excellence yet my experience with them has been unpleasant and frustrating. Buy somewhere else!

This has been a horrible experience. I ordered 2 sets of two garlands. I was told they were led lights but they were incandescent. Only received one set. On the phone 58 minutes trying to get credit for set of two never received. Called three times for credit and two tines to replace with plug in ked. Three different answers. This company is substandard. And, by the way not that realistic balsam garlands. Don’t buy from this company

I bought a balsam hill tree after one Christmas the next Christmas the lights would not work. It was under warranty and they would not honor it even had the receipt.DO NOT RECOMMEND THEY DO NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY DO NOT BUY U WILL PAY ALOT AND THERE REALLY NOT WORTH IT..

I purchased over $400 worth of miracle window candles LED. They look great, but stop working within three months, and Balsam Hill is not interested in replacing since the 30 day return period has run out. This kind of customer service for large purchasers will put them out of business. Beware Balsam Hill!

I ordered a tree with lights. So I thought. Website had a glitch. Ordered with lights for the price shown. I looked at the email sent and saw no lights. Called to cancel. Said too late. YOU HAVE 30 MINUTES TO CANCEL THE ORDER! Rep said I could send it back for 50 dollars. Don't do it. Plenty of nice trees out there from reputable companies.

Balsam Hill did NOT make me happy. Some years ago I bought a 10ft garland for my mantlepiece. It came quickly but when I opened the box it was far too small for the garland which had just been stuffed in. Lots of the decorative parts were detached and loose in the bottom of the box. It looked to me as if it had already been sent out to someone else and then returned. The return address was in Holland so it would have been a lot of hassle to return it. I fixed all the loose parts back on and put it down to experience. I will not buy from them again. I posted a review/complaint but never heard from them again.

Offered a tree on sale. Tried to order the tree but they said out of stock, we will notify you once when it is in. They did not but when it was in stock they would not honor the price offered when I tried to buy. If you offer a product at a price and I accept then you need to honor the price when it comes in.

I ordered a tree and never received it. They insist that I did but I never saw it. Then they said they will refund me 30% of my cost. Said they sent that and again I never received it. I will never purchase from this company again. I am very disappointed...

The tree has many issues. It does not hold ornaments- as the branches are too fluffy to allow ornaments to attach and if you are lucky enough to get one on, the branches are so flimsy the ornaments fall off. I hate our tree. My daughter said, “A Christmas tree has one job, to hold ornaments nicely and this one failed.” I called to return the tree but they said no. Balsam received this review and replied that they reached out to me but they didn’t. They don’t care.

I had purchased a scent machine a while back. Did not receive and they sent out another one. I have been in contact with them a few + times. I needed a new plastic tube for inside scent machine. I would have purchased it, but when I talked to a guy on the phone he was, oh wow I don't know where you would get one! Not sure a second time. The best one, my girlfriend said check out something (?) another type of gadget from a plug in, that worked for me!! What? Very displeased with customer service. They have no clue! Could it be, they were not happy with sending out another machine. Just needed to put this out there, since I paid $99.00 for this and have not used it in over a year.

I don’t think this company gets enough credit. I had a few issues and they responded to my email in 7 MINUTES. This company is on top of it and the quality is amazing. Looks like issues people have are with the lighted trees. I highly recommend there trees and non toxic which is huge with kids/pets ( did not get a tree with lights btw as lights go out so I put on my own)

I've ordered several items over the years and have been happy with their quality. However, their return policy is unreasonable. My items came 12/20 and returns needed to be completed within 30 days OR by 12/25, whichever is sooner. Had the 30 days, but they would not accept the return.....have to pay your own shipping at $10/box too.

I purchased a Balsam Hill Fir tree. I learned that once the warranty is up, which is three years, that you will no longer be able to order replacement master bulbs. If that master bulb goes out, a large section of your lights won’t work. The live chat suggested I look for the bulbs on Amazon, and appreciated my understanding. I will not buy another very expensive tree from Balsam Hill

We purchased wreaths, tree topper, numerous sections of garland, a tree, etc. etc. with the exception of the tree all the prelit lights are out with two years. You receive a 1 month warranty and their customer service refuses to make it right.
