“I am new to this site, bought 4 swiss made watches, but after reading the reviews, made sure I paid with a credit card. The item that has turned up, after a description of, " Good working order ,"
isn't that at all. The description did highlight some marks etc, but the fingers cannot be adjusted and it has just simply stopped, this is 3 hours after receiving it. I have taken it to a high end watch repair shop for inspection and am awaiting thr results and cost for repair, which I won't be paying!! You must realise that NONE of their items for sale, CANNOT be physically examined by any so called expert, just look at the logistics, some items are from as far as Japan!!!! The photo's cannot examine if something is mechanically sound.
However, any auction is a risk, this seller knew what he was doing and will get it back, I am protected by the credit card company, DO NOT PAY with any other method, far too risky, I am awaiting the other three items, so watch this space. My experience so far is not good.”
“My experience shows that the so-called expert auctioneers have no expertise in their respective fields on many occasions at all.
They cannot distinguish real items from fake. Sometimes it seems they have no idea about what they are doing, and their price estimates have nothing to do with the reality.

“I was checking the price of Gold bullion to buy. If you buy cold coin or bullion from Catawiki you will be paying 25 to 50% MORE than if you bought it from your local gold bullion dealer. THE COMPANY IS FRAUD. Do not buy or sell through this company. Besides they do not operate in the UK. “How can an item sell for £244 one week, the same article the next week for £478 when you can buy it in perfect condition for £40? Completely negative experience with Catawiki, I will not buy anything else.
I bought a watch and I had to make several attempts: I was receiving confirmation of payment but in reality it was not going through.
I tried another way of payment, so I did it through iban. After an initial confirmation, Catawiki informed me that the payment was fine but not clearly identifying the product, although I had followed the instructions.
It's not clear, it seems they are rembursing me and I have to do the payment again. Unfortunately, I'm thinking I'm communicating with a pre-written automatic message system and with a no-reply
Customer service, totally useless. It seemed answering to my e mail ignoring completely their content.
After several days I'm cancelling the purchase and asking for the reimbursement. I hope this, at least works!”
