I have been using Catawiki for some time, and unfortunately, I must express my growing disappointment with the inconsistent and often unprofessional behavior of certain so-called "experts" on the platform. It is deeply frustrating to see that low-quality reproductions and fakes are regularly approved and sold without issue, while rare, authentic, and valuable collector's items are repeatedly rejected without clear justification. I personally experienced a situation where one of my items was approved by an expert and sold successfully at a good price. Just two weeks later, I submitted an identical item from the same batch — and it was rejected by another expert, Matteo Fornetti, stating that the item "does not meet expectations." In my opinion, Mr. Fornetti demonstrated a complete lack of knowledge and understanding of the category in question. The inconsistency between experts undermines trust in the platform and creates confusion and frustration for sellers who work hard to present genuine and unique pieces. Catawiki must seriously reconsider the qualifications of some of their so-called "experts" and improve internal standards to ensure fairness and professionalism. Otherwise, it risks losing the trust of serious collectors and sellers alike.

I'm writing this here because I'm not getting any response through your official channels. One of my support queries has been pending for 6 days with no reply, and I submitted another one yesterday as an urgent issue — I received a broken object, the seller is refusing a refund, and I know that your policy requires claims within 3 days. I’ve sent clear photos and messages multiple times, yet there’s been total silence. You charge an extra fee for buyer protection, but in this case there has been no protection at all. This is deeply disappointing and unacceptable.

I’m extremely disappointed with Catawiki. I bought what was advertised as an “acrylic painting on canvas,” but what I received was just a printed image with no artistic or real value. It’s heartbreaking because I trusted this platform, thinking they ensured some level of verification and authenticity for the items they sell. After digging deeper, I’ve seen that the same seller has other listings described as original artworks, but they all look like images generated by AI. It’s infuriating to realize that anyone can upload anything and deceive buyers, while Catawiki washes their hands of any responsibility. What makes it worse is that the seller completely ignores my messages, and Catawiki takes weeks to reply, only to tell me to sort it out directly with the seller. I feel utterly unprotected as a buyer. All I want is my money back and to leave this awful experience behind. I won’t be buying from Catawiki again and strongly advise others to be extremely cautious.

I purchased an item on Catawiki that was clearly listed as brand new. What I received was heavily tarnished, extremely used, and in very poor condition — completely misrepresented. I submitted a complaint with photos, and Catawiki acknowledged that my claim was valid. However, more than 10 days later, I have received no refund, no return instructions, and no real resolution. Catawiki advertises itself as a platform with expert-reviewed listings and a safe buying experience, but in practice, they do not take responsibility when sellers mislead buyers. Despite admitting the problem, they have offered no meaningful help. I'm very disappointed with both the product and the customer service. I expected much better.

After submitting a withdrawal request and not receiving a response for several days, I noticed that the funds in my wallet had disappeared without any explanation. I waited patiently for a week but received no communication about the issue. Eventually, I reached out for help using the contact information in my bio. Fortunately, they responded and were able to assist me in recovering the lost funds.

I am a seller and unfortunately 2-3 times an item wasn’t paid by the bidder, but their system reoffererd the item without us aware and someone bidded 2 euros and won without our knowledge, this item we sold before because people kept not paying. The issue is now the person left negative review which affects our reputation, I think they should offer more protection against such cases as this is not fair. We even offered the customer another free fossil, but they are not responding. This is very unfortunate and a lack of customer service from catawiki. Really disappointing as I’ve been on Catawiki for 4-5 years and got 100% positive feedback and we are a small business that cares for customers. Really shameful on catawikis part. As it was their systems issue, and we have checked and AGAIN, their system has uploaded the item again when I’ve told atleast 3 representatives that this item wasn’t available and sold already???? At very best they should neutralise the review and remove the item from their system.95726514

In recent weeks, I saw several antique items that I wanted to bid on but for two of them the Catawiki seller did not allow Americans to bid on their items. These were small items that could have been easily packed and shipped. If you're looking for a truly international bidding platform, you'll be disappointed in Catawiki.

For me catawiki is a mixed bag of surprises. The vast choice is tempting but descriptions and translations are laughable. The listings are riddled with mistakes and often are confusing and missing important information. Experts? Forget it. That is just marketing. Some sellers are just dumping junk, well presented. Although packaging by some sellers is excellent, other just dump items in a box and hope for the best. Shipping cost are occasionally vastly inflated. Recently catawiki's meamingful reaction to complaints has deteriorated compared with last year. Expect "unmonitored mailbox" replies when seeking help. Some sellers essentially refuse to send auctioned items. In short using catawiki is time consuming in frustrating

I was mislead by a seller of a jewelry item bought recently and wrote a review to this effect providing clear information. However, Catawiki deleted my review arguing that I did not provide enough information. This is an indication, to me, that the company is taking the side of the seller not giving the buyer a chance to voice his/her concerns. This will result in future buyers falling for the same. Clearly, Catawiki just wants to sell all they can regardless of the problems a buyer experiences.

My package after a month arrived,,,had gone thru customs,,but the coins that were supposed to be inside were gone,,,base of package had been opened and there was nothing inside,,,i reported this to Catawiki and they made it sound like it was my fault for accepting an empty package,,,wanted a police report, photos, documentation and in the end,,,they closed the case and screwed me out of $200 dollars..I wont ever buy a coin from them again,,,and i think they use shill bidders to drive the price up on objects...

After almost three months, Catawiki has not offered a solution for not receiving a Lego building set. As a buyer, you are not protected in any way at Catawiki. You have to pay and then just wait. I received an empty box delivered to my home from Belgium. In my opinion, Catawiki should oblige the seller to take out shipping insurance. In my situation, the package was not sent in the box or the package was stolen at Vape and before delivery to PostNL. I reported it to Catawiki, but they are very antisocial and have not been heard from since. They collect money but do not adhere to European consumer regulations.

Catawiki is vooral leuk voor Catawiki, de kosten zijn belachelijk hoog, en koopjes tref je niet. Wel veel namaak, maar daar wordt nauwelijks iets aan gedaan, erg jammer. Ik ben zelf powerseller gewesst op Ebay, en ook daar kan je best wat op aanmerken, maar het systeem is een stuk eerlijker naar bieders, en je winst bij verkoop een stuk hoger. Ook aanbieders ban nep zijn daar snel klaar, daar zorgt het feedback systeem wel voor.

I purchased a dinosaur tooth fossil for $550 plus shipping. My took the 'fossil' to a natural history museum, three museum staff examined the 'fossil', including a palaeontologist, all three museum staff reckoned the 'fossil' was a fake. I tried to get my money back but they would not give me a refund. I think my emails are answered by an AI robot which basically ignores my complaints. Can anyone offer advice?

I'm currently using this company investment platform i was able to invest up to 178,000 dollars  in total from my life savings 10k initial investment. when i applied for a small withdrawal I was surprised by a tax payment fee of 20% because i surpased 35K dollars, but i was charged at 20% at 38k this fee also cannot be paid using money in the account. once i decided to pay this tax fee payment I was told that my ($550,174.32 ), will take up to 24hrs to process (it took 30hrs) after that, the withdrawal would go through in 2-3 hours. now that the tax payment was made and 3 hours had passed i inquired again about my withdrawal, only to be hit yet again they suspend my account. and hit me with a suspension fee. Then I knew it was a scam I contacted the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection, I was referred by alexivictimhelps @ mail . com who was able to unlock my account and make withdrawals to me on my local bank account all thanks to them

Stay clear as this has been the biggest nightmare of my life. They trick you into investing with all their lies and tactics. They are not a real company and have no address as the FCA warned me they are a scam. I tried to close my account and withdraw when I had over €445k but they continued to make excuses not to give me my money. The platform is fake your money does not go in the market they steal your money through opening a cointandem account and buy bitcoins with your money into different bitcoin wallet addresses. The company credit is fake, the bank details are not theirs it’s cointandems. They knew I had a daughter and I was unwell and they continued to gaslight me. Adi Reed who worked with them got close to me and told me it was a scam and introduced me to TheresachinRecovery INC he told me they're the best team to help me as they've given them a lot of problems lately by helping most victims in breaking their severs successfully, TheresachinRecovery INC passed excellently cause they did exactly what I was told they're capable of.
