Hi All! I just don’t get it! How come all these negative reviews to e true? I’ve been selling for over a month on Catawiki and I never came across a single issue of what the reviewers here said! The process of creating an account to the payment receive is just as simple and easy as making a cup of tea.

Catawiki just don't do refunds even when a seller agrees. This is made them break the trust with the customers. The seller first sold a watch which he should already knew that the watch doesn't work. He recommend me to replace the battery and the local workshop said that the repair fee will be as much as the watch. Then the seller promised to refund but nothing happens. This is catawiki's customer support reply for Order no. 36654871. I called the customer support and they said they will cancel the order but then they send an email completely different which was absolutely unhelpful and useless. " Dear Customer , Thank you for reaching out to us in regards to your purchase of the lot https://auction.catawiki.com/kavels/ 80528531 . We're sorry to hear you've experienced issues with your purchase. Unfortunately and after reviewing your case we apoologize but it's not possible for us to fully support you in resolving this case. After delivery we give buyers 3 days to report any issues they might have, so that we can still hold on to their payments. After these three days the payment is released to the seller. As such we want to advise you to reach out to the seller directly in regards to the issues you've experienced with your lot. We recommend that you contact the seller in English. You can contact the seller via the following page: https://www.catawiki.com/en/fulfilment/buyer/orders https://www.catawiki.com/messages We will also inform the seller from our side that they should respond to your messages directly in order to find a suitable solution as quickly as possible. " Order no. 36654871 I am a new customer who purchasing in good faith form the site and after this I had enough.

I bought a watch, received but was not as described. The watch was rubbish. I wrote a complaint to the helpdesk. The helpdesk does not respond. The helpdesk is not interested in your problem and you will pay buyer protection fee for nothing.

Catawikibia disaster. No customer care at all but they charge everything. every fee. You can’t really and literally do nothing when things go wrong. They just don’t care. Bought some crappy watch from EU wanted money back - nothing, zero responsibility.

No refunds, no respons on complaint, they keep payments for days on end without responding on legit claims. Really bad service. Bought for 250,- vinyl, but the package from Greece was a disaster, no protection at all: money gone, no service, no respons at all. Never buy vinyl again on catawiki.

I don't recomend this at all. Even if you pay a buyer protection, you are not protected. They give you 3 days to see if there are any problems. I personally have ordered wine from different providers. I found out sometimes 3-6 btl like vinegar, for which i lost at least 100 euro per order. No response, people don't care, no responsability. Their answer was that i have 3 days to test the merchendise. So if you order 100 btl you have 3 days to open them all to see if they are bad or not! Terrible, will never use or recomand this to anyone. Better prices on Amazon + they take responsability ! Don't use catawiki!!!

Very disappointed with the communication. I bought a watch, in the advert its says in very good condition, but the screen came scratched. When I looked more closer to the pictures from the add, the scratch was cover. "The expert" what the Catawiki pretend to have, is only to take his commission, doesn’t care and study in details the product. Very disappointed!!! In the first picture you can see the scratch, in the second picture is from Catawiki website.

Had a few successful buys last year, but now things went wrong in a horrible way. The company is clearly doing a rug pull and won't operate for long. The seller is clearly a fraudster and catawiki covers for him. Support is abusive. Horrible experience really.

"Catawiki, the online auction, requires that a winning bidder (Buyer) deposits a sum equal to the price of the item plus a set shipping charge; delivery to an island costs slightly more. I had winning bid for a sofa and two chairs. I paid Catawiki 700 Euros for the furniture, 350 for shipping, 66 for Catawiki commission for 1,116 total. Seller required to ship promptly but after several weeks the items were still in Italy with the Seller, Arrediantiquariato Napolitano Carmine. They claimed arrangements had been made but the transport was delayed because of the holidays. Catawiki offered to cancel the sale, but the Seller promised me that shipping was imminent so I declined to cancel. A month after the sale Seller notified me that he had just discovered that I lived on an island and he demanded more. I didn’t want to start over searching for furniture so I agreed to pay more directly to Seller based on Seller’s promise that there would be no additional charges. Catawiki was not involved. A week later the shipper claimed he needed to rent a special truck because of the road to my house, even though I drove over it every day in an SUV and I had never ever had a problem with a delivery. Seller demanded another 180 Euros and I canceled the sale. Seller put in a claim to Catawiki for Shipment costs in excess of 650 Euros. Catawiki ignored all my statements, which were supported by copies of Seller’s emails and texts, and they approved Seller’s request for payment. My demands for copies of Seller’s emails and invoices was refused by Catawiki and I have never been told by Catawiki how much they intend to give him from my deposits, which means I have no way of knowing whether Seller’s claim includes charges that I had already paid him directly. Furthermore, Catawiki should be limited to paying from my shipping deposit, 350 Euros, and not take from moneys I deposited for the items."

*BEWARE* This company are not straightforward and run along the lines of a scam. Their tracking information isn’t accurate and they delay payments without explanation. Even after you have been given a date for payment this changes without any reasonable explanation. Do not in any account trust this company. Customer service is terrible and does not resolve issues.

If I could give zero stars I would. This company is very corrupt and allows counterfeits to be sold. Beware! Stay away. I bought a Balenciaga wallet that is not genuine. It is an obvious fake. I contacted Catawiki and they say they are investigating and that is a bunch of lies. I have posted pix showing the bad stitching. Balenciaga never stamps "genuine leather" on any of their pieces. Came in a box marked Made in PRC. People's Republic of China. I took a photo of a genuine Balenciaga wallet I own (left) next to the fake one (right) and if you look closely at the grain, you can tell it is fake. This is not leather, more like pleather. I will never do business with this company again.

Echoing many of these stories. Bad and pleasant customer service who are the frontline and very apologetic. Provided a negative review on the seller who demanded I pay Catawiki the VAT fee befire shipping and of course you have to pay the courier before delivery. Weekly calls to Catawiki Customer service with the same scripted message about being escalated to the senior team and backlog. Small claims court? What are the next steps?

Tax double payment You can make some good deals. But preferable if within Europe to avoid any purchase from outside that zone, particularly from Japan as you might have to pay the tax twicexto Catawiki and the transporteur such DHL (for instance if happen twice to me with Euro 110 to Catawiki and over Euro 170 to DHL & the second time with over 50 Euro & with 48 Euro for DHL. Despite receiving the confirmation from Catawiki that they will reimbursed, which they dont & afterxa month askingcyou to deal directly with the seller which will not. So better avoid exept if you do not mind to take the risk of paying more +/- 10%.

Hi, I have had the unfortunate experience of bidding for an item which eventually arrived but I do not believe it to be authentic. As the item was late in arriving with no shipping information, I was refunded the money that I had paid. For almost two months I have tried to return the bag to Catawiki for them to examine the item in person. They are still refusing but are demanding that I pay for the item, which I am refusing to do. I don’t understand why they don’t want to satisfy themselves about the authenticity of the item by agreeing to have it sent to them. I can only assume that they are not interested in whether they have misrepresented a lot on their auction site.

They bid on their own products, pretend to ship them, and hope you don’t notice that they never sent the item! Then catawiki just waits for their deadline to pass and releases funds for goods that were never delivered. Complete scam, never use this website. I never received any item!!!!!!!! And they claim it’s my fault!!! Scammers.

It depends on what you buy. Ancient items (Roman, Medieval, etc) are so often very obviously fake or mislabelled (e.g. there is currently an ancient Roman ring on offer which is vintage Islamic - probably Yemeni, 20th Century). Where are their much trumpeted experts? And you can no longer write for clarification. Good to buy old books, though make sure to browse elsewhere, modern design items, some ethnic stuff, household, but rely on your own knowledge, not what is written.
