“Dick Smith/FIRST Membership is a scam. After purchasing a a $30 item as a gift, I was charged $129 a week later as a membership fee for FIRST. I do not recall signing up for this membership and I am very prudent with these things and the notice email was sent at time of 'renewal'. There is no refund for this fee even though it is cancelled. In my opinion a complete scam with no merit or use. A sad experience to have $130 stolen just before christmas. Should be ashamed of themselves.”
“my old massage seat pad died . Found a very reasonably priced replacement - with equally reasonable shipping cost. - on November 3rd. Got note to say it was on its way on the 4th and it was on my Christchurch doorstep on the 5th. Couldn't wish for better service! Really good as I am 90 with a back issue that needs a daily massage.”

“Bought an item that was misrepresented. Seller refused to help, and the platform denied my refund by demanding “proof of delivery” even though they never provided a return label or tracking number. Totally unacceptable and a breach of consumer law. Zero accountability, zero protection for buyers. Shop elsewhere”
“After my order was wrong and I had to return it to a whole other company and not to Dick Smith whom I purchased it from, they charged me $14.99 from my account for "First membership". I never authorised for this to be taken from my account, but according to them, I did when I bought from them. I won't order from them again.”

“I ordered an Apple Watch which was sold by a third party (not disclosed until they had my money). Dick Smith emailed on Monday that my package has been posted with a tracking number. Australia post tracking says label created but no scans. Australia post do not have the parcel.
Dick Smith sent my query to the third party they replied that they need to ask the dispatch department….. crickets.
Luckily I only use PayPal to buy online so I have requested a refund and included all screenshots including their very bad reply to me asking where is my package?”
“Extremely Disappointed – Poor Quality and Short Lifespan
I purchased the Emitto 3-Colour Ultra-Thin 5CM LED Ceiling Light (90W) through Dick Smith and Traderight NZ. It looked good initially, but the quality is shockingly poor. The light failed after a very short period of use — completely unacceptable for a supposedly modern product.
There was no warning about its short lifespan, and it’s clear now that this is a "you get what you pay for" situation. I would not recommend this product or these sellers. Very disappointed.”
“I ordered a 'Laser power meter after doing an online search for one.
The UNI-T 385 seemed to meet the need from the blurb on the Dick Smith website, so I ordered one but quickly learned that it was much too small to measure output on my 100w CO2 laser.
Within 2 hours of placing the order I reached out to Dick Smith's customer helpline to cancel the order as the devic is not fit for purpose for me.
The following afternoon I recieved notification that the item was being packed so I contacted them again only to be told the next afternoon that the item will arrive tomorrow and that since this is a ' Change of mind' return (Actually it is a 'Not fit for purpose' return IMHO) and that I will be hit with restocking fees and return shipping costs!
This smells like a bad FACEBOOK sale and I avoid those like the plague.
Who would have thought Dick Smith would ever be classed in such poor company.

“I ordered a bed less than a year ago, still under warranty. the base snapped in the corner whole bed broke. Dick Smith said the bed breaking was an 'accident' and would therefore not offer a refund or repair, haven't replied to any more of my messages despite clear proof of the bar breaking. Off to disputes tribunal as they clearly don't care about taking care of their customers or honoring warranties.”

It was $49.99… we received a cheap plastic toy look alike phone with just stickers and unable to perform any of the functions .
The cheap plastic toy phone can be purchased at $2 shops .
