“Etsy provides a great services to customers BUT TO sellers they are TERRIBLE so quick to issue a refund even when the products been shipped no support or contact at all.”

“This is the email I sent to the Etsy "customer service." Shame on Etsy and the US Postal Service. "Please please please help me. I've made very few sales on Etsy, and was so excited when I made one to Coos Bay, Oregon. I was having trouble navigating the shipping label interface on your website, and ended up accidently ordering three labels. You have records that show I only made one sale to this individual in Oregon. I just received notification that my request for a refund was denied by the post office. They also have records that only one label was used. Not issuing a refund is stealing! I see the tagline for Etsy is, "Keep Commerce Human." Humans make mistakes. I hate to lose nearly $80 in fraudulent shipping charges at a time that I really need the money. "”

“Scammers! Some sellers are great and some are scammers, I tried contacting the seller but have been blocked. Before I made the purchase I questions and the seller contacted me within minutes however after I made the purchase there has been no contact. They claimed to ship within the US but it took over a month to get my purchase. So I looker for the sellers name and the name John Doe appears on the return address label. etsy stated that the seller has to contact me within 48 hours after a question has been asked, That didn't happen. Avoid this company at all costs.”

“My account was hacked and orders a bunch of stuff on my card. I canceled my card, however the person who hacked me changed my password. (They had access to my email associated to the account.) I was unable to log in, but was worried because they had access to addresses of myself, friends and family. Since there’s no number to call for Etsy customer service, I emailed them immediately. This was in November. I received a pointless automated email a weeks and a half , “advising” to change my person. I explained AGAIN why I wasn’t able to do that, and if there was anyway to flag or cancel my account. I still have yet to get a response and it’s about to be January.”

“Been scammed and Etsy is just greedily holding and profiting off my money somewhere, taking their sweet time. There's 0 protection when you need it, shop on eBay or literally anywhere else.”

“This is a company that is trying to compete with the BIG BOY on the block eBay and doing a very poor job of it. As a Buyer and Seller on Etsy, I was quick to realize that they do not have their act together. As a seller, the hits on my vintage toy items were insignificant, but they continued to charge me a monthly facility fee and there was no way to communicate with their customer service. On the buying side, I currently have a purchase that is stuck in limbo some place between Canada and my location in the U.S.A. and not only does Etsy not confirm my purchase, but makes it impossible to contact them. Etsy is a second class company and always will be. I would recommend that you take your online business to a safer more legitimate company and avoid the risks associated with Etsy. Bottom line just take a look at the rest of the reviews listed here, which solidify my points.”

“As a seller on Etsy, I have had a very very bad experience overall with how they treat sellers and I do not advise selling on this platform. You are safer with much better reputable websites. Also their customer service is non existent so if you ever need help as a seller or a buyer you will struggle severely. Be warned.”

“DON"T SELL ON ETSY IF YOU WANT TO GET PAID. THEY HOLD YOUR FUNDS FOR 45 DAYS EVEN IF SENT WITH TRACKING AND THE ITEM RECEIVED BY THE BUYER. WORSE THEY WILL ASK TO VERIFY YOUR ID/ACCOUNT AND FIND ANY MISTAKE TO POSTPONE AND TEMPORARILY BLOCK YOUR ACCOUNT. APART FROM SELLERS PUTTING RIDICULOUS PRICES ON ITEMS WHICH COST CENTS.”

“I called them about a store I could not find . they said the store was closed. I contacted the store and they were open. I had to search the store on Google. This is crazy Esty said they would follow up never did. The store owner says this is a big problem with etsy. She had discussed this with several others. They are moving the store.”

“an extremely irritating website. try to stay on this site for more than a few minutes and the site freezes, have to go out then come back in to continue. have tried on different browsers and different computers, always the same. shame really, there are some great shops on etsy but you need at least a half day and infinite patience to find what you want.”

“Presents made personal. Purchased from them and received email to say it had been dispatched and would be with me for 25th November.. On 27th November after not receiving I contacted Lauren who informed me that they were a few days behind and would be with me soon. I then received an email on 01/12/21 stating the product not in stock and didn't realise so would be a further delay of 2 weeks. When contacted to inform she had sent me a message with dispatch said thought it had but down to 1 member of staff. Clearly not dispatched so why notify me. Disgraceful,. Previously had fabulous experience with Etsy but this site and Lauren not professional at all and wouldn't recommend, disgraceful service.”

“I made an Etsy purchase last night. This morning, I had two $300 purchases that were not mine using my credit card. Etsy was of no help in resolving the issue. Luckily my bank got involved but I had to cancel this credit card. I won’t use Etsy again and I won’t recommend to anyone. I’m really frustrated this wasn’t a secure site and that Etsy did nothing to resolve the problem.”

“Etsy does not even deserve one star. My account was recently hacked and someone started a business selling under my login. I could not longer acces my account because they added a 2 factor authentication to an unknown number. I tried multiple times to contact Etsy. Their lack of concern is horrifying. Do not do business with them. It is not safe!”

“I bought a product twice worth 160 euro's and it got deducted from my account. I have proof of this but Etsy won't and can't help me with this. I need to handle it with the seller myself, not knowing that other people can sell items on Etsy without mentioning this. I contacted the seller and he denies receiving a penny and won't send me my order. I have to sort everything out myself.”

“Please please listen to me, you get ZERO support, you NEVER get responses to your emails, NO answers whatsoever. If you do decide to open an etsy shop....never count on them start a website of your own then when they decide to suspend your shop all you hard work and money is not gone. Personally i thought this was the greatest thing since sliced bread, the harder i worked the more orders i got then out of nowhere i was suspended, no reason no email and it has been a entire week of emailing, calling , begging for help. Had i known what i have found out from digging on forums ect....i never would have trusted etsy and given them my money. I am not alone but i can not speak for others all i can say is stay away if this is your income”
