“I ordered a present for my daughter's birthday. I was given an arrival date of between Jan 5 and Jan 12. I reached out to the seller "TV Goods" to make sure that was accurate. She told me that they would not reopen after the holidays until Jan 10 and that it would ship that day. On the 10th I contacted them asking for shipping information. I was told it would ship the next day and that I would receive tracking info when it shipped. A couple days later...still no tracking info. When I contacted the seller she asked if I wanted to cancel the order. I responded "no because my daughter is looking forward to the gift". She again said it would ship the next day. Two days later I asked again for the tracking information and rather than responding, my order was cancelled. When I contacted her and told her she should be ashamed of not providing what is ordered her response was that she gets hundreds of orders but doesn't have trouble filling her orders! Of course Etsy has no way of leaving a review unless you actually received the product...no way to warn others about them not providing orders. I contacted Etsy support by chat and was promised it would be looked into and they would get back to me. A week later... nothing! Etsy buyers beware if you don't want your children in tears not receiving gifts they asked for!!”
“Their site says they will be shipped your order within one day. I placed an order two days ago and it hasn't even been packaged for shipping yet. And they don't respond to my emails. I won't be ordering anything else from this company and I suggest they change their company name from Etsy to Iffy.”
“Etsys customer service to their sellers is terrible. There is really no consistency in communication. I had an issue with refunding a product to customer. Etsy plays games with sending lame messages through emails which they don’t respond to for several days if at all. Find another platform to list your wares.”
“No customer service!! I have received the item which is wrong and not as it was advertised. It's not just a small thing, its detail for the car. I have paid also the custom's fee which was not listed by the order! The details are wrong and I cannot send them back. In EU we have the right to send the order back to the seller within 14 days and this rule is not foreseen by Etsy.com.
They just closed my case!! Never ever use it again and will recommend to all not to use it!!!”
“I had a terrible experience with etsy. They showed zero respect to their users and simply banned my account without any email notice or prior notification, and for no reason! After searching, I knew that they do that to accounts from Africa and Asia, and the one in support confirmed that to me. This is a huge red flag and I strongly discourage anyone from using this service. This is completely unacceptable and I will be taking my business elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this platform.”
“Order for a desk placed on 10 November 2022, for delivery before 19 December 2022. To date heard nothing from Etsy, the shop selling the desk, Slatehouse Furniture has posted that it no longer sells through Etsy, who remain silent and uncontactable. I'm starting to think I have been scammed by Etsy. Be warned when buying through Etsy, they are not to be trusted.”

Made a few orders with Etsy in the past and not had any problems until this year!! The issue is not so much with the shops (some arr absolutely amazing), its Etsy customer service I rate so poorly! I found them extremely patronising, unhelpful, they try to deflect, contradicting themselves and attempts to pass the blame!! Mo accountability whatsoever!!

My advice would be to look into each shop before your purchase, and be prepared to not get anywhere, if you need to use Etsy customer services! Absolutely shocking!!!”

“Had put a lot of effort into making an online store and even making a few sales. After 2 days of being open Etsy closed my store permanently. Reason? I provided them with a bank statement instead of utility bill for address proof. I explained I can get a utility bill but no the decision was already made and I can not get a reply from them. No warning, no reasonable explanation or willingness to help, no explanation as to what happened to the sales. Nothing. Disgraceful behavior from Etsy. Will use another platform instead - my mistake for not checking reviews before!!”

For over 20 years we have successfully retailed our products online on various platforms. Etsy do not give a chance to sellers even when tracking is proven and the buyer admits they got it, maybe a bit late because of the strikes. Etsy simply steals from you and there is no support available. Looking to sell online, AVOID ETSY AT ALL COSTS. Even worse than eBay, and I can assure you it pains me to say that.”
“Use extreme caution if ordering from Etsy. I placed an order on November 20, delivery was suppose to be November 28. I contacted seller several times, with no response. I finally got my order on December 20, but it was not what I ordered. I contacted seller for the 8th time and still no response. I tried to contact Etsy about the seller and got a foreigner who tried to scam me out of $627! There is no customer service with Etsy. Lesson learned I will not order from Etsy ever again.”
“First let me say overall I have always had no problems with Esty and I will continue to order from them. But I will stay away from the Chit Chat site. “I ordered a rustic storage crate that came with a paler color that was not shown in the pictures when buying it on the internet. I decided to buy this pricey storage crate, because the color attracted me. I was very disappointed when it arrived. I will not trust this store. I kept the wooden crate just because it has wheels and I did not want the hassle of returning it.”
“When I contacted the supplier about a return as I had bought the wrong type of curtain rail as I wished to return it, receive a refund and then buy a replacement, I did not receive a reply despite emailing on numerous occasions. I have now given up hope of getting either my money or the replacement rail and advise against using Etsy.”
“I received goods that were inferior if I had bought on local market stall. I complained to the “Company” who said I could send the items back but I had to cover the shipping costs. I had already paid very inflated shipping costs to have it delivered. Trying to complain to Etsy proved IMPOSSIBLE. I would be very wary of using them again.”
