“I used to sell on this platform until they stole from me. I had a buyer dispute a purchase, this is fine, and disagreements happen. Within 7 days, Etsy took the money out of my account and refunded the buyer his money without expecting him to return my product back to me. I attempted to contact the buyer both directly by email as well as through the Etsy app multiple times with each communication including a prepaid return label with no luck. Etsy was NO help, so, I escalated things. I filed a police report for theft (see attached) and let him know I was going to consult an attorney & he would be liable for any & all collection expenses, OR, just simply return my stolen merchandise. After threatening civil action, Etsy paid me my money back then promptly cut me off. I sell on Ebay, Mercary & Poshmark as well and have never had this issue. I get returns, and any on-line business will. The difference is all of them require I verify the product made it back to me before they refund the buyer. Just be careful. Etsy is not afraid to take your money, give it to the buyer with ZERO expectations you get your merchandise back. I have tried to upload the police report, but, it wont accept a PDF file?”

“Everything was going smoothly—I placed orders without any issues. However, out of the blue, Etsy canceled my most recent order and suspended my account without offering any explanation. The lack of customer support or contact options is truly disappointing, and it reflects poorly on the company's attitude.”

“Etsy sends out Renewal notices to their shopkeepers usually 2 weeks early. If you pay before the final due date you basically lose the overlapping time and they are double-dipping. IE: if you get a notice on July 1st for renewals on July 15th and you pay on July 1st then your ads are renewed from the July 1st date and you just lost 2 weeks of time from your previous renewal. Also never pay your fees to ETSY until the due date.”

“Just use Amazon. Most items take 3-4 weeks to be Delivered. I'm still waiting, 6+ weeks later, for others. The nature of the company should be to provide fast delivery. It's just a pointless service and company. Stuff made my people at home, which is of poor quality and takes a months to arrive. Most customers would be ordering for a birthday or some kind of gift for someone. Waiting 6+ weeks is just mental.”

“Etsy doesn't care about its sellers.PERIOD. Etsy charges lots of fees and provides no support for sellers. They have a Purchase protection program or something to this effect which never gets to be used. Your buyer breaks an item, you pay. Leaving this platform! A junk.”

“VERY POOR PLATFORM. EVERYTHING IS REPORTED WHEN SELLING AND CUSTOMER SERVUCE IS REALLY BAD.MY MONEY 5K IS BEING HELD TILL DEC 2023 AND SHOP IS CLOSED FOR SOME FRAUD THAT REPORTED MY SHOP WHICH HAS NO VALIDATION OF WHO THEY ARE. THEY DONT VALUE YOU SO DONT WASTE YOUR TIME USING THIS PLATFORM. THERE ARE TONS OF PLATFORM THAT CAN BE USED TO SELL THINGS BUT DO NOT EVER USE THIS PLATFORM. OVERALL POLICIES DONT EVEN MAKE SENSE.”

“Used to be a wonderful place for creative/artistic sellers and buyers.. Sold out to corporate types & is very, very different place from what it was. Not in any good way. So sad, we don't even engage anymore.. We see that as their loss... Likely they don't! Punk became a fashion like hippie used to be?! Oh hum!”

“Horrible experience as seller on Etsy. They closed my account with mentioning that I didn't pass verification. I provided all documents again, in better quality they kept silence for 7 days although promise to answer within 1-2 working days. Afterwards I tried to contact them to get to know what is going on, because I paid for my shop account and had one sale already. But they send me again template answer that - hey due to inconsistencies in your account we suspended it. They gave me 0 explanation on what happened, why was suspended what exact reason for it what paragraph I violated....still don't know. I kept asking please give me some explanation what is going on and how to fix it, but no communication from their side. Basically they suspended my account for what I paid already and gave me 0 explanation how to make refund how return money. Customer support just ignore you and try to push issue on other agent not to deal with you and not to help you.”

“As a small company making handmade furniture I stupidly thought etsy would be a good place to sell my furniture and all was ok for 2 months, then for some unknown reason the automated bots at etsy decided to delist all my products without warning or reason! They still have not contacted me as to why. So after 3 days of going around in automated circles, not a human to be found. (Handmade selling platform, ironic) I have closed my shop. A complete waste of my time and money. Do not try to sell on etsy they just don't care. It's an automated system set up only to make money, that's all.”

“Closed my account after five years with no explaination. Kept my payments ! No customer service. Cant oppose scammers claims and had a tracked and signed for item refunded to the buyer as he claimed ge didnt get it ! It had the tracking on the order ! Loads of hidden charges. As a buyer gteat for scamming as a seller absolute nightmare now”

“The most unfriendly old outdated CRM!!! if you are trying to list something here, wait until Jesus gets pregnant ...it took us 3 hours and two tutorials from you tube just to set up the payment page wich it was freezing and glitchimg over and over we did it on my computer and im two different phones Android and IPhone my goodness this Etst people wants sellers with listings or what.”

“Sadly, I got not less option that 1 star for my Etsy review!. Scammers like Etsy are not common to find!. I bought an item from an Argentina's seller that I wanted to return and the seller (Gaucholife) agreed with that, providing the return information. The item cost me $300 shipping included and the return through Fedex or DHL will cost me more that $1,000!!!! THAT'S THE SCAM!!! THE ETSY RETURN TRAP!!! Obvioulsy, everybody (Etsy and Seller) were aware of this vicious final, leaving the customer with no option than keeping the unwanted item.”

“I ordered a camera for over $1,200.00 and Etsy customer service is non existent to file a complaint against the seller. I went over the entire site and the information it provides to file a complaint does not exist. In addition, there is neither a phone number to call nor an email address to file a complaint. I will never ever purchase anything on this site again. I now have to use Paypal to resolve my dispute.”
