The worst company I have ever dealt with. The engineers are not engineers. They said my 8 month old phone was ha ily used . What absolute garbage. Do not use this company. Read the reviews here, 1.3 star eating is the worst rating for a mobile return company . Just con artists masquerading as a service company . Changed my quote from £450 to £100 due to having on scratch on the screen and some around the, hanging point. Says it needs new screen , absolute lies. Shameful company.

Don't believe the 5 star reviews - read the 1 star first! This company will scam you. I bought a refurbished phone from them which looked in pristine condition, however it did not work. They told me to send it back for a refund. Luckily I took photos before sending because they said it arrived with deep scratches caused by me. Completely untrue. They even sent me pictures and a video, which obviously wasn't the same phone and I suspect it's the same one they send to everyone! After several days and threatening legal action against them they refunded me the amount paid less £40 for the damage!! They talked about their customer service dept, engineers dept and security dept looking into my case - what a joke, I imagine it's one guy working from home with a PO Box No. Avoid this company!

Avoid at all costs. They devalued my phone by over £30 from the original offer stating it had scratches on it which it didn't. I sent them the phone in it's original box with a case as extra too. Unfortunately I was away so was unable to have the phone sent back to me. Took 5 days for them to sort my payment out. Use anyone else apart from these rip off merchants

I’ve had a similar experience as everyone else, I’d looked at trust pilot and thought this was a reputable company, how wrong I was. Sent them an immaculate iPhone and they invented screen damage to severely reduce offer. AVOID AT ALL COSTS COMPLETE SCAMMERS

They offered 130 on a phone worth 250 After 3 days of haggling they finally agreed on 230. Responses were always really slow. Absolute Cowboys.

Please read other handtec reviews on here, my experience was similarly poor. I sent in a pristine iPhone that I had taken photos and videos of, it was immaculate. They emailed back that the engineer had found light scratches and marks on the back glass, the housing and the top of the screen. Complete lies, there were no marks visible to the human eye. As has been said before they offer slightly more than other sellers and have good reviews on trust pilot (fake?) They rely on people not having the time or persistence to get it sent back and so you are forced into accepting a massively reduced offer. I let them know by email how displeased I was by their lack of integrity. Unsurprisingly I was never sent a link to write a review on trust pilot!

I wish that I had read these reviews before sending my Samsung to Handtec. Initial quote was £30. Revised quote was £3!! To quote - "The screen is cracked & has heavy image burn: replacement required. The back camera lens is cracked: replacement required. Ear speaker is low. The back cover has heavy scratches & heavy dents on the frame." Was this my phone they were referring to?

Be warned, don't sell your device to these scammers! They tempt you with slightly higher offers than others, combined with being plugged by Money Supermarket and a good rating via trustpilot all would seem legitimate. However, myself like many others have found out the hard way that they operate in a completely dishonest manner. Send in your device in pristine condition, which they then value it at way less than original quote due to some made up faults. When asking for your device back they then revise their offer and offer you slightly more, this can go on and on. You could maybe get original quote price if your willing to haggle over the course of days or weeks. Others who have stood their ground and asked for their devices back have then received them in a lesser condition than they sent them off in. With the above in mind I reluctantly sold for their 3rd offer, combined with wasting time and energy emailing them back and forth. You have been warned (again)

Sent an almost mint condition iPhone for payment, apparently the engineer's inspection found a long scratch on the screen. Oh no they did not, there was not a mark on it anywhere. Now offered peanuts for it. Nearly impossible to get in touch with them. This must border on fraud at least, is there nobody out there that can stop them? Clearly every other review on here, says the same thing. (Are the Trust Pilot reviews false?)

Zero stars. A bunch of scamming scumbags. Was offered £85 for my old phone. On receiving it they offered me £13 stating made up damage. Stupidly I trusted the 4.5 star reviews on trustpilot. They have obviously review bombed them. Avoid these robbers at all costs.

Avoid at all costs Horrible company , sent my item in its original box ( the Samsung box ) I didn't like their offer and they would not send me my box back Claiming i didn't , when I DID That is theft , and the costumer service is absolute nightmare very very rude and takes days to reply , and they just lie to my face not even pretending they will check I need my box back I sincerely doubt they have any records …. They should have records of these things But they just stole it

Still no improvement on Handtec ability to deal fairly with trade ins. We sent 2 phones in, both Samsungs. Wished we had read the reviews earlier and not fallen for Trustpilot which had a combined sale and purchase 4*. The first phone was marked down from £140 to £110, which we decided was a lucky escape. We were told it had marks on the frame and lense and light burn (seems to be a pattern in their markdown reasons). The second phone we think they have lost. Despite chasing up we’ve been told so far it has a pattern lock, never has had. A pin lock, nope I checked that was removed. And it’s locked to a google account, no because it was reset exactly the same as the first phone and I’ve checked it’s not showing in my Google security!

Was quoted £132 for a Samsung galaxy S21 FE, had no scratches on the front screen, which I had cleaned and double checked before sending, sent in the box provided. And received an email to state they would offer be £79, I was confused as I knew the screen had no scratches, I sent a reply asking for proof and they sent a picture back with a scratch that was not there before, evidently upon reading the reviews on here, this is a common occurrence for them, I’m still in the midst of this so don’t have an outcome. Please don’t use this company, I used money supermarket to find them, and trusted they’d only use legitimate businesses and when I searched the company the fake trust pilot reviews appeared, I will be notifying trading standards and also money supermarket.

This company are scammers. They offer you a good price for your old phone and then allege it is damaged when they receive it and revise the price to half what they offered or less. I have reported them to Trading Standards and ActionFraud. I would urge anyone who has been scammed by this company to do the same. Let's get them closed down!

Had exactly sane problems as everyone else. Quoted £130 trade in but then they offered me £25. I told them to send it back, came back with a knackered screen. When I contacted them they said it was like that when it came in, I had no evidence to the contrary. Legal Scammers!

*IMPORTANT* I purchased a iPhone 8 Plus 16/02/24 which was faulty, would not turn on even after a 24h charge. sent back to exchange for 2nd iPhone.within 24h it started to freeze.i reset the phone but continued to freeze every day. Apple customer support confirmed software fault. i Reported fault 01/03/24 and was to return for refund. My very sick wife who is END OF LIFE was taken ill and in critical condition. I could not get home to post iPhone back until i returned home for a days rest on the 02/04/24.i kept seller fully updated with my situation, THEY SAID "POST WHEN YOU CAN". the iphone was delivered to them on 04/04/24, tracking number QZ712669220GB.THEY NOW REFUSE TO REFUND US AND HAVE THE IPHONE I RETURNED. complete dishonesty, theft and fraudulent behaviour.

I sent a perfect condition phone for which they quoted £155,they have invented non existed faults (deep scratches to front and back glass, scratches to frame and apparently it needs a replacement battery in order to be recycled!?), in light of these invented faults they have now revised their offer to £30. They are absolute scammers and I am gutted that I didn't think to Google them before I sent my phone in, as I found them through a comparison website I wrongly assumed they were legit.
