Rentalcars website was showing that the car unlimited mileage. When we came to the Car rental office we found out that it was only 400km included. We ended up paying 250 euros extra while the booking was for 90 euros only. Unacceptable.

All they want is your money, rent at your risk! Rentalcars has zero transperancy and zero control on how they deal with rental car suppliers. The rental company couldn't provide me with a car cancelled my reservation but refusing to provide a refund. When requested for refund they play T&C cards which are unclear and never sent over email as part of email confirmation. And when requested for their Ambudsman (ADR) details, the customer service dodging the question every time.

I rented a car from Rentalcars.com and had to prepay $250.00. I initially reserved the car for 4 days, but due to a blizzard in Chicago (where I had a connecting flight), had to change my return flight and return the rental car 1 day early. I contacted Rentalcars.com to request a refund and they informed me that I must contact Fox Rent A Car -- the dealer at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport -- where I picked up the car. I contacted Fox Rent A Car and they informed me that I must contact Rentalcars.com. I phoned each of them twice and asked to speak to a supervisor, etc. I was informed by Rentalcars.com that I must file a claim, which I did. They refused to refund/credit me. Fox Rent A Car actually charged me an early return fee, which after a couple of phone calls, they refunded. I am attaching documents to support my claim and indicating that I did indeed reserve and pay for 4 days and returned 1 day early, and their refusal to refund/credit me.

Poor. A rental car service as this is only as good as the companies that it uses and recommends. Here they fail. Nazcar in Equador did not hold a confirmed reservation and we were screwed. No help from RC.com.

Rentalcars robbed me of 80 euros. Rentalcars tricked me into renting a car by offering 'free additional driver', as advertised on their website. I payed in advance. At pickup, this promotion was not recognized by the car rental. For an additional driver they had to charge us around 100 euros extra, which is more than the car rental itself. Therefore I decided to cancel the deal and later rented a car with a different company. Rentalcars refused to refund me the 80 euros. The only way you can contact Rentalcars is via mail. I reached out numerous times but each time they just respond with a "NO refund" and the same shallow argumentation - untill you as a customer can do nothing else than give up.

I regret not seeing these reviews before I rented a car in Morocco. Terrible experience! They pretended me to have a car with tires worn out. I didn't accept the car and long story short I didn't get reimbursement of the money.

This company is a scam company, has 6x hidden fees when you picked up your car. The worst part is that their customer service admit they are a scam company working with all smaller scam comapnies, and refuse to refund my cost because their fault.

Terrible Experience with Refund Processing I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience with Rentalcars.com. Despite the cancellation of cars upon pick-up by sixt.com for no reason, my refund has not been processed, leaving me frustrated and dissatisfied. The lack of timely resolution has significantly impacted my perception of their service. I have even contacted sixt team regarding my refund, but they emailed me that I booked through third party company so my refund will be process by rentalcars team. My reference number is 736721983 and reservation date is 14th October. It's been 56 days I'm waiting for my refunds from them. I have emailed all the relevant documents regarding my terrible incident and contacted customer service more than 20 times for this booking. Still not yet received my refund money

Rented a car from this company for $140, but when I picked up from the counter, they asked for $900+. What a scam company, where they first trick you book it, and then ask for 6X times of price when you actually need it. The worst part is that their customer support basically says we do not care about the so called customers, as they are all 1 time customer any way.

ITS SCAM RENTALCARS.COM ITS SCAM RENTALCARS.COM DO NOT BOOK FROM RENTAL CARS.COM . THAY CHARGE FROM BIGINING LOW FEE THEN PICKING UP THE CAR IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FEES. MAKE SURE READ TERMS AND CONDITIONS ITS BETTER TO PAY SOME EXTRA MONEY AND RENT DIRECTLY FROM RENTAL CAR COMPANY THEN FROM RENTALCARS.COM

Rentalcars alongside their car hire partners (Thrifty) are working to rip off customers over petty charges which they do not cover, even when taking out their "Full Protection" Insurance. I was charged a cleaning fee of £75 by Thrifty UAE for minor biscuit crumbs on the floor, they were clearly trying it on as they initially attempted to charge me for damages that were already on the vehicle prior my rental and then eventually got me for a few biscuit crumbs. I travelled with children, while on holiday and they found their excuse and Rentalcars did nothing to support me. Rentalcars said that they thought that this was "more than a reasonable amount of cleaning after my rental". In all my years of hiring vehicles, I have never been charged with anything so minor, particularly when it only costs a couple of pounds to clean any vehicle. I cleared all the rubbish out prior returning the vehicle. Rentalcars claim procedure tells you to wait until you return from holiday to log your claim. When you return from holiday and try to raise your claim, they ask you for information which you can only obtain while still abroad. They then inform you that you cannot do anything without that required information and therefore your claim can no longer be progressed, so I'm now out of pocket. Absolute jokes. Avoid at all costs.

I am one of the many conned/misled customers of rentalcars.com as well. I have rented a car through their website with "Budget" - on arrival at the desk - I have been told that I need a "International Driving Permit" since my driving licence is "Turkish" driving licence. During the booking process - on the website I have clearly stated that I live in Turkey and my driving licence is Turkish. The booking went through and I had a confirmation mail saying - you are all booked and to pick up the car - you will need 1.Driving licence 2. passport or ID card 3.credit card 4.voucher... No where in the confirmation it says - you will need to provide "IDP". Apparently its in the terms and conditions which goes on and on... I can't get refund because I didn't provide the necessary paper work which I have no knowledge of. So I have to cancel my booking for the misleading website informalities and as well as getting stuck - I have to pay for the car rental I can't even have. I have rented so many cars before from so many different providers and no one ever asked me this document before - including "Budget/ Avis". And with a very poor customer service - the only response I get from rental cars is - "you agreed with our terms & conditions" so get on with it. Embarrassing and shameful business with matching customer service.

Rental-cars totally ripped me off for 260 pounds. My flight was delayed and although I contacted them through phone, messenger and e mail prior to arrival, they still closed the office. I rushed back to their office early the next morning to pick up the car to be told that the car had been hired out already! They didn’t have another vehicle and refused to give me my money back. Please don’t use this company, they don’t care about customer service or support.

I came to the office, asked for a car, without a card they wouldn't give it to me, then told me to delete my personal information and close the reservation. I even took away an A4 sheet with my data. I didn't get anything, and you took my money (113 eur) and now they closed the chat and stole my money! Absolutely AWFULLL!!!!
