Booked and paid for a rental car in Poland through Rentalcars.com, upon arrival in the airport, it turned out that the Polish rental car companies had changed their policies, requiring a credit card with full first names printed on it. Since Dutch banks don't do this, I had to pay €150 extra for insurance, even though I already paid Rentalcars.com for full coverage. After filing the complaint, and stating that Rentalcars.com booking information and acceptance was not up to date, I only got €50 back. Loss for the customer €100, thank you big greedy corporations, once more you cheat costumers out of money and let them pay for your negligence!! First time booking through Rentalcars.com and right away THE LAST TIME. BE AWARE, you can not hold them accountable for their poor service, negligence or other failures. You the customer will pay, all you get is some useless excuse that they did all they can.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Rentalcars.com. I booked a car in advance to pick up at Charles de Gaulle Airport. Unfortunately, my flight with Austrian Airlines was delayed by two hours, and by the time I arrived, the Europcar desk had already closed. When I returned the next morning to collect the car, Europcar refused to honor my reservation, despite the delay being entirely out of my control. I reached out to Rentalcars.com for assistance, expecting support or a refund since the rental terms were not fulfilled. However, I received no resolution, leaving me with unnecessary expenses of over $500 AUD and significant frustration. ⚠️ BE AWARE: If you cannot pick up your car on the same day, you WILL NOT be able to collect your car, and you WILL NOT receive any refund. I strongly recommend renting directly from a car rental company (such as Europcar or SIXT) rather than through a third-party site—especially not Rentalcars.com.

I was suppose to pay only $33 at counter as per my rentalcars.com voucher. Instead they required me to pay $109 at counter. I called the customer service after that she asked me to proceed and open up case for the refund. When I opened up the case they closed it without notifying me and when I called and presented that it was their represenative who asked to me to proceed after she realized they provided wrong amount on voucher she hung up the phone on me. Goons with pretty voice. Get you wrong incorrect pricing.

Never rent from this company especially where they offer deals such has free fuel, free GPS or insurance for multiple drivers. It is all a con. When you arrive to collect your car the actual car hire company you hire from will tell you they have never heard of this premium package. They don't give you free fuel and penalise you if you don't bring the car back with a full tank. They have never heard of insuring multiple drivers so their advice 'Do it at your own risk!' and the car has GPS anyway. It is all a scam by 'Rentalcars' to take more money from you for actually no extra benefit. It is false advertising but they know we can't do anything about it. On top of this when you complain they don't care. Avoid at all costs.

Rented a car, was going to pick up in Bangkok airport. Car rental don't accept Visa debit card, you need credit card (why can you pay with debit card in advance I wonder?). Tried to cancel, find a substitute, impossible. Cannot contact Rentalcars, only chat. Rentalcars takes a cut after you cancel. I was promised to get the rest of the money back after one week (that's long!). After 2,5 weeks, still no money. I contacted them, they say it could be up to 3 weeks. Scammers! Use Rentalcars to find a car hire company, then contact te rental company directly. Save yourself from these losers!

We were charged almost double by SIXT car rental in Bari Italy. After paying for our rental in full to Rentalcars.com almost a year in advance our car was not available and were forced to take another car, having to pay almost the full cost again. Rentalcars.com does nothing to help you with the car rental company. When booking through Rentalcars.com you become a second class customer in the eyes of the rental car company. BEWARE don't book with Rentalcars.com

I had a terrible experience with Rentalcars. My car reservation was cancelled at the last minute when I arrived to pick it up, leaving me stranded. They offered only a refund or a much worse car at another location, which was not even comparable to what I originally booked. No other options were provided, and when I contacted customer service, they insisted that I accepted the new booking, which they used to justify cancelling my original reservation. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional, as they had no right to cancel my initial booking in the first place.

Booked a car online and when I arrived at the pickup desk was told if I wanted GPS then I had to upgrade to which Rentalcars would fully reinburse me. They wont answer any of my emails and contact with them is futile. Never again will I use Rentalcars nor recommend them infact the only recommendation I can give is that they change their name to Ripoffcars

Do not rent a car via Rentcar.com. Please read! Update as of September 2: RentCars.com has made some superficial attempts to save face, but rather than taking responsibility, they’ve done nothing but point fingers at the local car rental agency. This is completely unacceptable. I booked a rental car well in advance for my holiday, only to have my flight canceled two months before our trip. We quickly rebooked our flight and, naturally, I needed to adjust the pickup date for the car. Despite already having a confirmed reservation, RentCars.com claimed it was impossible to change the pickup time because “no cars were available.” This was baffling since I wasn’t asking for an earlier pickup—just to collect the car 18 hours later than originally planned. Even more confusing, when I checked the system, it showed my new pickup date as one day later than my original booking, but only on the date-change page, not in the original booking itself. I contacted RentCars.com via their chat service, hoping to resolve this discrepancy, but their response was shockingly inadequate. Instead of addressing the issue, they repeatedly asked for the same pickup date and location information. After several frustrating attempts, they gave me a phone number that was unreachable. As a result, my booking was canceled by the local operator, and I was forced to pay an additional €200. I’ve been trying to get in contact with RentCars.com for six days, but their support is not helpful. Replies come every 48 hours, and despite providing all the necessary details—my booking number, screenshots, dates, and location—the chat was abruptly canceled when I didn’t respond within four hours. Their Customer Happiness Assistant is just a way to stalling not solving issues. This experience has been nothing short of a nightmare. RentCars.com is a total scam. They don’t care about their customers, and their app, website, and chat support are utterly useless. Save yourself the headache—do not rent a car through RentCars.com!

Misled by constant commercial pop-ups and apparent low prices, I booked a car with RentalCars....and that turned out to be my biggest nightmare and regret. Renlcars are nothing but legal scammers. Here is my story and my arguments. Firstly at the airport, they harassed me with the exorbitant insurance of 1200$ on top of the rental fee of about 550$. I should also pay and a security deposit of $2300 (which deposit has never been returned). The car I was given was a smaller class/ type than the one I had booked and paid for. I booked a wagon but was given a simple fiat tipo..Be aware that they provide/show you the car only once you paid and signed off the contract. I should have canceled everything right at the airport and leave away, but I was too exhausted from the long flight to reconsider or argue about the car. Also, the car they gave me was dented, scratched, and damaged, having some mechanical problems that it almost left on the way... The worst is that they never refunded me the deposit I made at the Airport ($2300): When I returned the car at the airport, the car was inspected, accepted, and cleared. The service men put a refund-due stamp and told me to wait 30 days for my deposit refund. After 35 days no deposit was received. When I first communicated with their customer service, they required copies of my contract and bank transactions to prove that no refund had been made. I provided all required proofs and documents. Then Rentalcars responded to me with some broad and meaningless emails that are in the peak season and being too busy they cannot investigate...Apparently, the non-refund is a recurrent practice with Rentalcars, because the few emails they sent me were generic, like for any complaint and any issue.... After a few more complaints and emails from my side, Rentalcars ultimately responded that they could not provide any further support about the issue and referred me to my bank for a chargeback...and closed my case. So ultimately, I am left on my own and depend upon my bank if it will be able to recover this money. Bottom line: avoid Rentalcars by any means if you don't want to ruin your vacation and be scammed thousands of dollars. I wonder how such crooks were given an office at the airport.

I rented a car through Rentalcars.com 3 months ago, I paid the deposit of about USD450 and until today, even after emailing the company back and forth, my deposit has not been returned! SCAM COMPANY.

I paid twice with this company. They explained to me that I did not read the conditions carefully. It’s true, I haven’t read them at all, because all companies have them more or less the same. As a result, in order to take the car I had to pay the operator again. And according to the conditions of the RC, I cannot even claim a refund. I will not use their services again and do not recommend them.

When I arrived at Auto Via in Reggio Calabria the agent told me that the booking that I made on economybookings.com was not valid for a Canadian Driver's license. He told me that he had to create a new booking and that the booking that I made on economybookings.com would be refunded. No other car rental company was still open at this time, so my Wife, Newborn baby and I had no choice but to pay for a new reservation. I filed complaints with Auto Via and economybookings.com but neither company responded.

I never received a confirmation and had a pending charge to my account. I tried to cancel the booking but as I did not receive an confirmation email (not even in my spam folder) I was not able to cancel online. I called customer service twice and each time they had no record of my reservation. The charge went through on the third day, the bank record showed rentalcars.com London as the charge. I am having to do a dispute of charges with my bank. I am frustrated and will no longer use rentalcars.com
