thievery at its best.....i ordered 12 items in a usa size 4 that is equal to a uk size 8, everything arrived in a uk size 6. i sent items back via their prepaid postage with USPS item arrived with days of posting I tracked items straight to the address. 2 weeks later no refund. i contacted them and as told that item were not returned and i need to fill out a form stating items weren't returned so they can asses and think about giving my money back. NEVER ORDER form this store they are crooks......order from NEXT UK they never mess up orders and customer service is awesome....

I am extremely upset with River Island and felt cheated. This is the second time I've ordered from River Island but will never do so again not to mention recommend anyone. I ordered 26 item but only received 23. When I call, I was told they will credit my account for the missing item. I explained that I would like to have the items I ordered instead rather than credit. Unfortunately, they could not help and insist that I ordered it again. Problem is that all the missing item was bought on sale and now if I do order again, it will cost me more than double what I initially paid for. I explained that since it was a mistake from River Island, I should pay the same price when I bought it on sale but they refused!! To say that I am annoyed is an understatement. Had tried on size 10 jacket that was too big, so paid for a size 8 (plus delivery, as I live an hour away from store). It came and was no smaller than the 10, so I returned it to store & said I felt the delivery should be refunded as waste of £3.99, very bluntly told 'can't do that'. I asked for help to find some leggings & she pointed over other side of shop & said might be over there .......not very helpful, & I couldn't see any!

Yesterday I visited my local River Island branch at Brentcross. I had gone to fitting room to try a top and came out asking for assitance, stood out for 5-8 mins no one there. Eventually I saw a lady and called her out "excuse me" few times she did not hear me so I said "hello madam excuse me" she addressed me why you saying hello - I explained I did earlier say excuse me" I found her rude. Anyway cut long story short. I had a grey polo neck size 10 which I felt was big so I had asked her to check if they have size 8 in stock. she goes to the shop area comes back and informs me will check in the store and informs me size not available to check online. So I return back to changing room and return her the Polo neck size 10 and again I am asked was this not any good. Same lady I have asked her to check for me size 8 asking me if it was any good! When I was leaving the store I passed by where the same polo necks were around and guess what there was a size 8 available. So where did this staff look? by then I was pissed off and decided I could not be bothered to go back in changing room to try. You need to have staff that have Customer care values. You have lost customer who was interested in buying your product due to bad customer care did not purchase.

We purchased an item on 12/14/17 with an express delivery date due on 12/21/17. When I contacted the company on 12/22/17. They stated that it would take two business days to trouble shoot the delivery error...that would be 12/28/17...two days after Christmas (this was a gift). They did give me the name and tracking number of the exporter service, but when I looked on the exporter's website, I received the message that it was an invalid tracking number. I go back to riverisland.com and confirmed the tracking number and they then say I need to check with my local carrier and customs to see where the item is. I explained that if they tell me who the local carrier is with the tracking number, I would be happy to track the package down myself...the agent told me they would not have that information until the 28th!!! If you are ordering time sensitive items that have a promised delivery date...do not trust this company.

Wish I could give this a zero star. Absolute worst customer service that I have ever dealt with. Claiming my items were never returned so after making me purchase the return label, are now not giving me a refund and not offering any type of help. Avoid shopping here at all costs.

I placed an order on Wednesday that was due for collection on Sunday as soon as the shop opened. I heard nothing on Sunday, so I went in to the shop on Monday but it still hadn’t arrived. I had an email on the Monday at 12.37 stating “IT’S ARRIVED”. Talking to other people, this is the norm for River Island. Why is that, when other similar shops can ensure delivery within 24 hours at NO extra cost? Nobody in the shop apologised for the late delivery - I guess they’re used to it!

Metro centre Some old blond bird refused me entry 10 mins before closing . Thanks for that I spent my £249 in Top Man , I actually work in the Metrocentre and my shop remains open until our advertised closing time, quite often I remain until my customers are finished shopping. What made it worse, she actually turned to a younger colleague shaking her head and muttering to her about how sad I was coming shopping 10 mins before the store closed. Once again Thanks it's a cheap lesson in "Where not to shop" I should of known better, they don't even open on time either. Complacency at its best.

I went in to River Island to buy some clothes for my wife’s birthday. I spent hundreds of pounds in clothes, then I was ask do I want a bag to carry them in !!! That’s 5p please. What a bloody cheek, I was shopping most of the day and every shop I went in used papers bags and never charge a penny. It’s a disgrace after spending all that money in the shop. Used paper bags then your customers won’t complain.

I ordered a pair of shoes, they were never delivered, and when I wrote to the website in several times to get to know the status of my parcel, they were constantly contradicting, there was no tracking number for my parcel. they claimed, I had to wait a few more days as if the problem was in my postal office. after writing for so long and several times, they told me the parcel was in London. they never offered a refund, I asked for it, and told me to wait for 7 days for it, It hasnt been done yet, and I wont get any answer from the store when I ask for the status of my refund, apparently, I won't get my money back. THEY ARE STEALING my money

NEVER ORDERIN FROM RIVER ISLAND AGAIN! Parcel hasnt been delivered and customer service took over a week 2 get back 2 me.
