“I would not recommend this company to anyone. My experience with them has been incredibly frustrating. They charged $1,000 euros to my credit card without my authorization and have yet to return my deposit, which was supposed to be refunded over a month ago. Despite multiple attempts to contact them, I have not received any response or indication that they are addressing the issue. This lack of transparency and accountability is unacceptable for any business.”
“Son ladrones, engañan a la gente, no son los coches que aparecen en los anuncios, siempre quieren cobrar más.
Ce sont des voleurs, ils trompent les gens, ce ne sont pas les voitures qui apparaissent dans les publicités, ils veulent toujours faire payer plus.
They are thieves, they cheat people, they are not the cars that appear in the advertisements, they always want to charge more.”
“I should have checked this site before making a booking with addcarrentals. They commited fraud on me as described by other users here. STAY AWAY FROM THEM, THEY ARE THIEVES!”
“THIEVES
I hired a car through AddCar in Marrakesh.
I purchased the insurance when I booked the car which covered me for everything.
When I picked up the car they told me I need to pay €1000 euro deposit because I didn’t book insurance. They tried talking me into getting extra insurance with them which was bulls**t. Then when I returned the car they tried telling me I had damaged it because of some tiny scratches which were there when I hired it!!! They then asked for my card to process the refund of my deposit and instead of doing that they took the full deposit amount from my card!! He lied to my face and then denied doing it. Thieving scumbags this company are. Don’t use them. Exploit them. Close this company.”
“The worst experience of our lives. I would not recommend ADDCAR company to my worst enemy. They lured me into buying second insurance policy in addition to what I had already paid for, they failed to explain that damages don't count, only for collisions. This extra obviously fake "policy" was 105 eur, explaining to me It is the only chance and I was liable up to 500 eur in damages.
When returning the car, they pointed out to an invisible scratch on the front plastic bumper. I was schocked to find out they implied I caused it, when I am sure I did not. And for this bumper anomaly which didnt even look like a scratch but more of a print caused by machines cutting the plastic in factory, they charged me 350 EUR!!!!
So to sum up, after paying online advance of 70 eur, adding 205 eur renting fee (which already included full insurance!), 105 eur for extra insurance, and the 350 eur for the 'scratch', the rental for 6 days cost me around 720 eur!!! That's for a crossover car, not a luxury model, which is what would have cost me if I rented a 100k car...They should go to jail for this and lose licence permanently!”
“Terrible. Booked 24h in advance and then tell me on arrival they are fully booked and denied me a refund. Terrible horrible experience. Rather walk then work with them again!”
“I have used addCar Rental for several business trips in Austria and Poland and they never disappoint. This company rented cars of different categories, but they were always clean and well-maintained. Office workers were friendly, polite and tried to please in everything. I can wholeheartedly recommend AddCar Rental to anyone who is looking for a reliable and affordable car rental company.”
“People , DO NOT RENT A CAR HERE AT ADDCAR. They will rip you off.
My plane was delayed in Miami just one hour and ADDCAR refused to help me. I lost my car and my entire money, $350. Thats how the earn their money, by scamming people.”
“Very bed company. Sarajevo in Bosnia office is so bed and arrogant that you can believe.
They will have you pay insurance you don't need, they will not return you deposit.
So budem line if you can avoid do it”
“Hired car from AddCar in Marrakech from 12-17 Feb 2023 via RyanAir portal. Everything wrong & fraudulent with this vendor - collected the from the airport on Feb 12th - the agent was pushy and arrogant and forced me to buy their own insurance product costing an additional £80. He mentioned that the insurance bought from RyanAir is 'no good' in Morocco. Also, their insurance covers all additional costs with no excesses. Going by the general notion of driving in Morocco can be an 'armed combat' and traveling with a kid, I couldn't take a chance and paid for the extra insurance policy - when asked for paperwork, he just wrote down his phone number on a piece of paper. The car itself was filled with dirt and they didn't even bother to wash it before giving it to a new customer. I paid for a sat nav and all they offer d me was a 'derelict' mobile phone with 1% charge with Google maps installed in it. The first thing I did after collecting the car was to take it to the nearest car wash. Now, moving on, on Feb 14th, I was in Rabat with my family when suddenly the tyre exploded in the middle of the city. I called up the number (that was written on a piece of paper) and to my terror he just couldn't understand English. I asked a local person to interpret and as understood I was asked to replace the tyre with a spare that was in the boot - no other support offered. I had no choice but replaced the tyre myself, then drove to a local tyre store to ensure that the rest of the tyres are in driving condition ( as I was 350 Kms away from Marrakech) and then drive back. Now on the day of return (Feb 17th) I met that guy at the airport, told him of the ordeal I had in Rabat... He said that there will be no charges and all will be covered under the additional insurance that I purchased. There was no apology from him. Come Feb 22nd ( back in the UK), I see that there has been an additional transaction of £418 from addcar. Till date, I have been trying to reach their number but there has been no response. I know it's gone be a long and most likely a futile exercise. Lesson Learnt - do not hire a car in Morocco from a local vendor like AddCar. - Avis, Budget, etc. are way more reliable & professional.”
“The office opened 30 minutes late for drop-off and the customer service was extremely poor. The staff showed no urgency to help us or get the airport shuttle bus started, we almost missed our flight as a result. After contacting the CEO to report this experience he was full of excuses and didn’t even acknowledge mistakes made by his staff. Will
Never use this company again.”
“It is very incorrect company. They didn’t accept the insurance I had made through Rentalcars and forced me to make another one for €120 (I paid €60 for the car rent and €50 for the full insurance) to reduce the deposit from €1000 to €500.
II don’t recommend them if you can get another one.”
“Rented a car for 4 days in Malta through VIP Cars. When we arrived at the desk i payed the rental cost and then i was informed that i had to pay extra fees which ofcourse were never mentioned and when i asked why i have to pay these fees the crook at the desk opened a link in the “terms and conditions” and in the third page she showed me these fees. I refused to rent the car under these conditions and she told me that i will lose the rental cost i had payed 2 minutes ago. Totally crooks and unprofessionals. Just stay away.”
“I booked a car via "Wisecars" that i found on scyscanner rent a car page.
"Wisecars" is intermediary company for which small local companies work. in this case in Sofia: a company called "Addcar".
"Addcar bulgaria" tried all sorts of aggressive tricks to make me pay more money - pushing aggressively their own insurance making false claims, trying to charge more money for the security deposit, using a ridiculously high exchange rate when converting from euro to local currency and bluntly stating that they can use any exchange rate they want (there is a fixed official exchange rate), trying to rush through the examination process when giving me the car, charging me 960 euros for 1 tiny scratch ...
Avoid them in all cost.
It is a pity that such a reputable company does not check intermediaries who provide services on its behalf.”
