“I cancelled my car insurance policy with One Protect and was shocked to be charged nearly £500 — even though I was paying monthly and had only had the policy for two months. When I asked why the cost was so high, I was told it was based on the “number of days I’d had cover”. Only after I paid was I told the charge was actually because a fault claim had been raised (a claim I never followed through with and no payout was made).
This is totally contradictory. If I had been told upfront that I’d be liable for the full annual premium because of a cancelled claim, I never would have agreed. I repeatedly asked for a breakdown before payment — they refused to give it and said it would be “sent in the post” after the cancellation was processed.
Now I’m left hundreds of pounds out of pocket, without ever receiving a proper explanation, and no way to fix it unless I escalate through a formal complaint.
Unclear communication, misleading information, and unreasonable charges. I would not recommend One Protect based on my experience.”
“Canceled my insurance without any notice when I was driving and hours away from home
No one picks the phone up to tell me why
No refund nothing total joke of a company”
“It took a very long time - almost an hour to eventually simply send us a link to another website. All I wanted to do was put my daughter on my car insurance for one month. I don't see why this wasn't possible either via your website or through the live chat. A phone call could have sorted it out in minutes.”
“wp1 your service is so slow i could have walked to the office and done it in person and im 100 miles away in this day and age things like this should be instant i think it was quicker when you had an insurance agent in your local town”
“The journey that commenced as a hopeful investment opportunity took a sharp turn towards devastation, resulting in a loss of $97,100.
Discovering that I had fallen victim to a scam left me grappling with a mix of emotions - embarrassment, anger, and a sense of uncertainty regarding my next course of action. Amidst my quest for a remedy, I stumbled upon RANGEPRO.ORG, a company that initially gave me pause.
Their professionalism, however, shone through brightly. Right from the start, their team treated me respectfully, articulated the recovery process in a transparent manner, and steered clear of making any grandiose pledges.
Their consistent communication and efforts to keep me informed throughout the process were a reassuring presence.
To my pleasant surprise, their endeavors bore fruit by successfully recovering a sizable portion of the funds I had previously deemed lost forever.”
“they refused to replace my wheel, only repair, I now have one wheel that is a different color. Just tried to make a claim for my windshield as well, they dropped my call during a transfer 3 times, and after a half hour in hold, they told me the system is down and are unable to take a message or call me back. I should have never let Schomp Honda talk me into this, such a waste of time and money.”
“Not happy with process..nothing to do with agent. Directed to website by agent then filled in quote details..then asked to REGISTER as NEW customer ..I'd just like to speak to a human .”
“absolutely terrible company tried to cancel my policy after 8 months had to pay the full years premium apparently its in the FAQ small print obviously they have ripped other people off this way before AVOID this company”
“Total rip off…had to cancel the car insurance after 6 months as car sold - I was charged a £55 cancellation fee and an extra £100 for what I don’t know! My premiums were only £40 per month paid in advance, so expected the £55, but why the extra £100. Terrible company.”
“I was really pleased with the help and support Bethan with the clarification BL1 has given me She explained the procedure clearly and was sympathetic to my age and problem. W Fletcher J.P.”
“I tried to add a driver to my policy (ver 50, full UK license, no points) and the online protal refused. The live chat is the only way to contact One Protect, but the person (at least) on the chat admitted they were a broker, and not the insurer, and couldn't help. So I'm stuck without anyone to resolve the problem. The email address is 'no reply' and the phone number is Claims only. One Call seem to be the umbrella but their customer number says immediately that One Protect customers are not covered, and to ... go to the online portal. It's a disaster. No customer service at all.”
“Absolutely appalling. Buyer beware. Online only. The IT system is atrocious. The portal is invariably inaccurate, in my case stating I had no active policy when I did. You are then stuck in a viscous circle of being directed to the portal that has no way of sorting the issue.
The chat is woeful, constantly disconnects, plagued with delays and clearly undermanned given the delays in response.”
