Honest Review – Be Careful with Onestream This is an honest review based on my personal experience. Onestream seems to take every opportunity to trap you and charge you extra. For example, they charge nearly £100 just to move your broadband to a new address — something most other providers do for free. And if you're moving somewhere they can't provide service, they still expect you to pay the full contract amount. They even try to push you into taking their mobile broadband service, which is absolutely terrible. The moment you accept any of their “offers,” you’re basically walking into a trap that allows them to charge you even more. In my opinion, their practices feel like borderline scamming. I strongly recommend going with a proper parent company — I never had these issues with Vodafone itself, even though Onestream supposedly uses their network. There are also lots of hidden charges. If you’re not watching carefully, they may throttle your speed on purpose just so you end up calling for a technician — which could cost you nearly £200. Long story short: stay away from this company. It’s like quicksand — they pull you in deeper and deeper until you feel like you have to pay anything just to escape the contract. My advice: Stick with well-known, reputable providers.

Location: Surrey Plan: 60 Mbps Review: - Speed & Reliability: Consistently slow. The advertised 60 Mbps is rarely, if ever, achieved. I frequently experience buffering and slow loading times, making streaming and online activities frustrating. - Customer Service: Highly disappointing. I was flat out lied to regarding cancellation fees. Initially, I was quoted £160, but this figure dramatically increased to £280 when I confirmed my intention to cancel. Almost as if they were attempting to discourage me from leaving through deceptive practices. - Pricing/Value: Poor value. I'm paying £50pm for 60mbps..They are the only provider who supports my property so I have no choice. The slow speeds and unreliable service do not justify the price I am paying. The unexpected increase in cancellation fees further exacerbates this issue. - Equipment: The router they sent out is absolutely horrendous. It's beyond 10 years old & they want £120 for it if I cancel my contract! Despite the fact that I could buy an identity sh*t one or £20 or less. - Overall: Extremely dissatisfied. The combination of consistently slow speeds and dishonest customer service regarding cancellation fees has created a very negative experience. I would not recommend OnStream to ANYONE.

Onestream set up a new broadband connection for me AT THE WRONG ADDRESS. Since then, they have been absolutely awful to deal with – they've acknowledged it's their fault, but it's been weeks now and I've still not received any compensation or even a date when I can expect my internet to start at the correct address!!! Whatever you do – pick a different provider, Onestream are utterly incompetent.

This company is run by thieves. Throughout our contract they overcharged us, claimed they weren't notified about us leaving causing further unreasonable charges. They even wanted the router back or face £100 charge (I've never been asked to return a router before...ever)! As it was I was 5 days late because they didn't tell us we only had 14 days to do it and so charged ANOTHER £29.95 without any warning. I'm so sick of this company and the way they operate. Just go elsewhere because anywhere else will be better! It should be their company logo. Rip off merchants!!

Absolutely awful experience with Onestream. They locked me into a contract with a forced router hire, making it unnecessarily difficult when I asked about using my own. I ended up paying extra just to rent their router. When my contract ended, they forced me to stay an extra month, claiming I couldn't cancel earlier - even though I wanted to serve my 30-day notice in advance. They even threatened me with a £241 charge if I tried to leave before their arbitrary end date. To top it all off, they cut off my service before my new provider could take over, leaving me without internet. Their customer service was completely useless, telling me it was "out of their hands." Thankfully, my new ISP got me back online within six hours - something Onestream failed to do. Avoid this company at all costs. Their shady practices and terrible support make them one of the worst ISPs I've ever dealt with.

Beware of hidden costs and very expensive termination fees! I took out a 24 month contract a year ago thinking it would be £22/month as stated. In small print it says after a months free trial I have to pay £35 for Macafee anti virus software which I didn't need. Fast forward to a year later and they take out £80 from my account for the same thing, apparently this is a renewal price. When I complained they said it was in their price guide, which it is, hidden deep down in a 40 page document. This document was never brought to my attention in the original contract, there was no reference to it regarding the Macafee software. Unfortunately I had to move house half way through my contract too, and the price I was quoted to leave early was near £400! I'd read this included a router worth £125 which if you don't return when your contract ends you'll get charged extra for. I offered to return the router to save £125 and they said it didn't work like that. Of course not 🙄 so now I'm stuck paying £33 a month for another year for a service I don't use. It's unethical and unfair. They also added something called onestream assured without my knowledge which is another £5 a month which they have now cancelled.

Be aware of their SCAM practices! - They force you into services and charge extras even if you have never signed into anything - The connection is constantly poor and never reaching even half speed you’re paying for - Even if they acknowledge that problems are on their end, they are forcing customers to pay for engineering services to fix the issues (about £200) - Finally, even if they are are not providing the connection as per agreement, it’s impossible to leave them without extra charges that seem to be the highest amongst all providers! They’ve already been penalised by Ofcom and are currently under another investigation. Companies like OneStream should NOT be allowed to trade!

Hidden Prices... hidden agenda I’ve been with OneStream since March 2024, drawn in by the siren call of low fees and the promise of smooth sailing. What I wasn't told about were all the delightful surprises that came with it. Maybe I was a little too trusting, but hey, who can blame me for believing the sales pitch? Fast forward three months, and I’m starting to wonder why my bills were higher than expected. Cue the dreaded phone call to OneStream. Turns out, I’d been charged an extra £5 a month for an ancient modem I didn’t ask for, plus additional charges for a virus checker and a maintenance contract I had zero interest in. Both of those were promptly cancelled, but I was still stuck with a modem that could probably double as a paperweight. By November, the service was, to put it kindly, "patchy" at best. My modem was in a constant state of "you’re on mute," needing a reset every few days. Unfortunately, it was time for a change of address. Naturally, I called OneStream again. This time, I was greeted by a lovely customer service agent who kindly informed me that moving my service would cost a neat £59. I was taken aback. Why charge such high fees for something that’s, well, a bit like moving a chair across a room? But perhaps that’s just my over-simplified view of things. Here’s where the plot thickens: My new place can get Full-Fibre! A true modern marvel compared to the almost dial-up experience I’ve been living with. Naturally, I asked about pricing. I was passed on to a very pleasant guy in sales who promised to speak to his manager to get me "the best possible deal." Meanwhile, I was perusing the OneStream website and—surprise, surprise—saw that the best possible deal was apparently only available to new customers. Now, I’m no math expert, but the difference between the price I was quoted and the advertised deal was over 40%. Not exactly what I’d call a loyalty bonus. Still, kudos to the sales guy for managing to knock a couple of pounds off my bill. Progress, I suppose. At this point, I decided to stick with my "vintage" service, let my contract expire, and search for a provider who actually values existing customers. So, to wrap up this slightly epic saga, I’ll just say: Stay far, far away from OneStream unless you enjoy playing a game of "guess the hidden fees" and “wait, how much?”

I cannot stress enough, this company should be avoided at all costs. We requested to leave our contract as outlined in section 10 2.5 of the Terms and Conditions. This company changed our contract without informing us, and will be charging us £659 to leave. £659. Onestream claim there is no way to service to the area we are moving to, therefore they say we have no choice but to pay. This is just for internet. Moreover, they absolutely REFUSE to send us a dated copy of our original contract, which we have asked several times. All they provide is a link to an un-dated PDF which is universal and can be easily changed. It is utterly fraudulent and a complete scam. There is absolutely no need for ending the contract to be £659. They also signed us up to a trial of a VPN without our permission. This is a clear case of illegal inertia (The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000) and an egregious violation of the Data Protection Act 2018. The use of our data to sign up to this VPN was not fair, transparent, necessary, let alone LAWFUL. Upon calling customer services, my partner was shouted at and hung up on. This is truly an awful company, and I urge you to read the Google reviews.
