“Our name and solar interest got on sold to somewhere else because when the guy came he said you don’t normally recommend him. I went with one of your recommendations paid a very sizeable deposit but have not heard of him in 2 weeks. - feeling nervous”
Hi Colleen,
Thanks for your time on the phone this morning - as mentioned, we absolutely do not onsell peoples information to anyone except the 3 companies that we explicitly refer to you. I have left my phone and email address with you so you can forward your correspondence with this installer.
I have also followed up your quote that you have paid a deposit for, and you should be hearing from the installer very soon :)

Hi Ruth - I've tried to get in touch with you to discuss your experience - have left voicemails. When convenient, please call me back or email me at ned@solarquotes.com.au so I can look into this :)

“Information available on solar was good, but.... only 1 of 3 contacts actually materialised. One supplier had been on leave & notified the service, one supplier contacted by ph but the quote didn’t come through till they rang a week later to get our opinion o their quote. So you can guess who got our business!!”
“I didn't get all my quotes, but that was fine as I already had a couple and was really checking the prices weren't ridiculous.
I have been receiving more spam than usual, especially targeting Solar, so it feels like you may have sold my data.”
Hi Toby - thanks for your feedback and review. I can confirm that we most definitely do NOT sell your data in any way, shape or form - except, of course, to the (up to 3) installers that we refer to you for quotes (and our finance partner parker lane, if you select that you want finance). See here for our full privacy policy: https://www.solarquotes.com.au/privacy.html

“We two companies recommended and got two quotes ok. One of the companies was excellent in the information they gave, including how much could be fed back into the grid. The other company would not try to find out how much could be fed back into the grid until i paid a deposit( which i didn't). Consequently I went with the other company.”
Grahame - that decision makes sense to me. Could you let me know which company refused to give information on feed-ins without you paying a deposit? My email is jonathon@solarquotes.com.au

“I want low income solar through NSW Gov. I had a visit from SolarHub But no other installer is approved for this. No quote yet from SolaHub and the other 2 backed out. Hoping to hear from SolarHub again.”
Hi Staffan - my apologies, as our quote form does not filter our recommended installers based on the NSW govt low income solar program. I will follow up with SolarHub tomorrow :)

“Only had one interested solar supplier that come on site to view and quote, the rest did it over the phone or did not work weekends, I have purchased of the company that came out and their prices where better for the same system”
“HI all. We picked Solar Quotes because we thought that your videos and website were great. They gave us a strong sense of honesty. But I'm not really sure that we got a lot out of it. In requesting quotes we said that: we'd be away for a week (we were trying to line everyone up for when we got back). Our roof is complicated.
You gave us three names:
the first (solar4life) quoted nearly instantly without inspection. The plan didn't take into account that the panels proposed location would be obscured from the sun by large trees and by a chimney on our house that is hard to see from satellite photos.
The second (Smart Energy Answers) rang to make a time for a phone call. When I said that we would be away for a week, they lost interest and told you we had said we didn't want a quote. Give them away on the grounds of poor service.
The third came round yesterday (Mondiaux). They had a drone to check the roof and looked at our actual power usage (not some standard). They said we'd get a quote from them next week. They have some complicated assumptions about feed-in tarrifs because they say these can be negotiated up (by nearly double) with some suppliers. This is a problem because I don't have certainty I can achieve those high unpublicised tariffs.
Pretty quickly, I've found that all the companies all use the same software package to work out our savings and return on money spent. The package is not very good. The package doesn't really tell information you can rely on because the assumptions are so obscure.
What I want to know is
how big a system do I need and what can I put on the roof for my usage pattern (this requires the solar companies to ask what my usage pattern is)-
which supplier will do the best job for the best value for money and
what do I get if I choose different quality panels (ie is the SunPower 25 yr warranty worth paying for)
This basic information seems beyond the sales people. They struggle to even explain why their company is better than the others.
To get another quote we went to another company (SolarHub) - they said they'd come round in two weeks.
Overall, the SolarQuotes videos and explanations were great but so far, I've been underwhelmed by the industry,”
Hi Jonathan,
Thanks for your feedback and review - it sounds like there was a bit of a mix-up around your request for the week delay in quotes. My apologies. I'd be more than happy to refer you to alternative installers if you're still shopping around - just let me know at jonathon@solarquotes.com.au :)

“One Team good and professional but quote too high.
Softwave quotes totally wrong as per our discussion. Would not deal with this company.
Sky Power no follow up after the initial phone call.”
“Of the three quotes we received one stood out that being SOLAIRE Connect. Brad knew his product well, was informative with his presentation and made sound and logical suggestions. Had we decided to install a system he/they would've been our contractor of choice.
WESTSUN Solar, chose not to call but instead submitted their quote via email. Although their quote was well presented I would've preferred a face to face presentation and the opportunity to ask questions.
MLEC's representative failed to turn up at all on the appointed date and time. He phoned me the following day and with some less than convincing excuse and requested another time which I agreed to and for which he was late. He appeared to know his product but came across as more of a talking head. Not for me.”
“Out of the 3 quotes. Only 1 company was honest enough to tell us our house is not suitable for solar due to the big trees surrounding the property. Shame but Really appreciated the honest advice.”
Hi Cher - thanks for your feedback and review - it seems 2 of the companies we referred dropped the ball on assessing your house properly before sending out a quote. We will be following this up with them on our end :)
- Jonathon
Hi Jack - we're sorry to hear you didn't get all your quotes. We'd be more than happy to chase them up, but as you've chosen a different supplier we're still glad to hear you've decided to go ahead with solar :)
- Jonathon
“The website was easy to use and all three quotes got in contact within the week. However, none of the three seemed to have the information or attachments I had inputted when using solar quotes so I sent all of that again to the three. I have now found only one of the three actually providing follow up and answering questions after the initial quote.”
Hi Michael - I'm sorry for the inconvenience - I'd be more than happy to chase down the non-responsive installers - just let me know which ones they were at jonathon@solarquotes.com.au

“One recommended company sent quote without so much as a phone call, wouldn't know if the system would even fit on the roof. $4k difference in quotes left us a little devasted that we couldn't afford No1. Be careful who you recommend”
Hi Kerry - thanks for your feedback and review - please share more information about the installer you're referring to, to me at jonathon@solarquotes.com.au so I can look into it :)
- Jonathon
“If SolarQuotes could address customer's enquiries directly in an email instead of just referring her to a link on the website to find an answer herself , that would be better.”
Hi Kerri,
My apologies - I had a look at your ticket, and can provide the following answer:
You asked about a Risen + Sungrow system versus a Qcell + Fronius. Both of those systems are solid from a brand perspective - but Risen and Sungrow are solid budget-end in our opinion, while Qcell and Fronius are more premium end.
What this means is - we'd expect differences in performance between the two systems to be marginal. The reason why you'd go for Qcell/Fronius over Risen/Sungrow is Chinese products versus Austrian/South Korean. Many would argue they're better quality. Whether the country of origin is worth a premium is up to you :)
- Jonathno
Hi Alex,
We're sorry to hear that - any and all feedback you can provide would be very helpful - just email me at jonathon@solarquotes.com.au :)
