Because you’re located in a rural region, we were only able to match you with one installer who services a wider area from outside your town. That said, the installer who contacted you is still happy to work in your region and has done so for other customers before, but I appreciate that distance can be a key factor in choosing who to do buisness with.

“The shortage of local suppliers on your approved list was a drawback. One of the two supplied was more than 100k from us. The other was knowledgeable and supplied a quote a week after seeing us. So we also sought a quote from the local supplier/installel of our rooftop solar. We're now considering both quotes.”
“Sorry for that. You are the fountain of my solar knowledge and deserve much better.
In this case, when I applied for assistance, I received 2 addresses: one close by (SolarWide), the other in Toowoomba (Proven Energy), 141 km away, did not answer. I sent you an email, requesting 2 more addresses but never received an answer.
SolarWide did very well, but "Unfortunately, the rules of Energex say that we cannot add a battery to your system without you losing the 44 cent Feed In Tariff." That was it.
I am happy with what I have (10x 260W Canadian Solar panels, 8yrs old and a 5kw Solis inverter, 3yrs old), 44 ct feed-in. I understand that there is no way to add a battery without loosing that.
So, I will wait until July 2028 when the present system will end, and continue following your *****-star solar entertainment and education (and perhaps find a solution for my complicated battery issue).

Apologies about the missing quote from the installer in Toowoomba. Based on your experience, we’ve reviewed their service coverage and have since updated our system to reflect that they are unable to service customers in your area. This should help prevent similar issues for others in the future.

I recently made the decision to add batteries to my existing solar panels. Getting quotes from installers that have been vetted and approved by somebody (Solar Quotes) that knows what they are talking about adds a level of confidence to the whole process.
As it turns out, of the 3 recommended instalers, 1 declined to give a quote, and another gave a quote that was +$5K over the other (for an identical system). I ended up contacting the original solar panel installer for the 3rd quote.
Solar Quotes contacted me to see if I had received quotes and if there was anything else they could do to assist.
