The quality of the meat I received was good, and the cuts I did receive were fresh and well presented. However, my order was incomplete two portions of pork sausages were missing. I am a first-time buyer so this was disappointing. I have sent numerous emails to report the issue but have received no response, nor have I been offered a refund or a replacement for the missing items. Good customer service is just as important as good-quality products, especially for new customers. I hope this can be resolved and that communication improves going forward. please see photo attached my purchase order.

Honest review from a current user who is still using company I'll start with the good Sausages, Lamb, pork, bacon, mince and chicken all good..delivery and customer service very good. Great value for money Now not so good... Topside Beef joints not been good so not buying them anymore Twice now i have had items missing..They do refund straightaway but it still means a trip to Tesco which i really wanted to avoid

Have to say my faith in The Fat Butcher has been seriously dented following this order. I've used them half a dozen times before, and had excellent beef fillets, but on this occasion my Scottish fillet arrived labelled as Spanish pork loin. Obviously this was a mistake - and not great given the meat traceability requirements these days - but as the label also carries the use by date I wanted to know what happened and was it safe to consume. I filled out their quality concern form as requested and it went completely ignored. I had to chase a further three times after a week and was met with indifference and clear frustration that I was making a fuss over nothing. It took nine days to get an answer on the use by date. Mistakes happen, but the appalling response and indifference to mislabelling meat has seriously damaged my trust in them being a competent and reputable supplier.

The prices are great and some of the meat . The only criticism I have is the steak always full of grissel. But the rest is pretty great . When I see promotion I tend to go for it . The promotion that says only one per customer. Is annoying as I may like that aswell

3.5 out of 5 . I ordered the 4 sirloin steaks special , 2 x 800 gram extra lean mince and 4kg of chicken for £20 , the steaks are okay nothing to shout about , I don’t think I’d order again, there a little tough and tasted like they’ve been frozen for while . The 800gram minces both weighed over 800 grams . Dunno if I would call it extra lean , it’s more like 10% fat rather than 5 % , but saying that it’s very tasty and possibly would order again. The chicken weighed slightly under the stated 4kg once defrosted coming in at 3.5kg . But it didn’t loose much weight when cooked so isn’t pumped full of water like some the cheaper supermarket chicken. And it is pretty good quality . Tastes good and some really big pieces in there with small smaller ones . I would recommend when it arrives to divide it up straight away , while you can , when it’s delivered , as I didn’t and once refrozen , because of the way it’s vacuum packed, I had to defrost and cook the lot all in one go. Ideally it would be better if it was put into two 2kg bags really . I might use these again , the chicken and mince good value , steaks not so. Better than a supermarket but not better than a proper butchers

Delivery is good, the meat looks nice but , I won't be having anymore as when weighed at home 90% of my order was under weight by around 40 grams each

Well, my first order the steaks were not labelled so not sure what is rump or ribeye some even looks like stewing beef 🤔 .I am sure out of the 16 that came 2 were sirloin. The minted lamb steaks were nearly all bone .The bacon chops look good so pleased with them. Overall a bit disappointing

Delivered fine, but my God the joints are tiny. Lucky to feed my cat with them. I know you'll say there the right weight, but stop showing pictures of joints 3 times the size. Your not temu ffs. Once again im underwhelmed Kind regards Andy Bell

Mint lamb chops taste great but out of 8 chops 2 were virtually all bone The 4 pack of mini steaks again taste great but 1 of them was tiny and all gristle and the butcher must have known this when they were packed 4kg of chicken breast good price but loads of water in the bag when opened

Meat looks ok but delivery needs looking at. Ordered Sunday 28th September, chose delivery for Wednesday 1st Oct, FB changed then to Thursday, so waited in all day, no delivery, finally turned up on Friday 3rd. Not good.

So far not very impressed. Steaks especially are very poor quality. Sausages were okay but a bit small. Lamb is very fatty. The chicken drumsticks were as expected but the chicken breasts are very poor quality. Arrived a goopy mess and when taken out the freezer they ooze all sorts of goo too. Bacon is one of the better things in the box but hard to get wrong. Mince looks okay quality. So does the pork joint and beef joint but haven't had these yet. May return for joints if there are good deals in the future but back to Bolams Sedgefield for me. Much better quality

We have used other meat delivery companies that hasn’t matched the coldest temperatures of your box , there was still frozen temp blocks in the box well Impressed considering where they are packed from good meat well worth the money will be using the fat butcher again

I can't fault the meat (bar the ribs, everytime we've had them they have been as tough as old boots) but delivery is not great. Twice now delivery hasn't not happened on the specified days, boxes have been soaked or left in the blazing heat. I understand that it falls back to the courier but its not a good representation of The Fat Butcher.

The deals are quite good. Unfortunately, my booked delivery never arrived because their courier, DPD, failed to deliver. It took a week to resolve the issue. The packaging could be improved by including clearer details on feeding methods and storage instructions. While refrigeration dates are listed, more comprehensive storing guidance would be helpful. Adding cooking recommendations on the labels would also enhance the experience. The constant emphasis on refrigeration makes me wonder about the freshness and overall quality of the meat, and I’d like more transparency on the sourcing—especially given the large portion sizes. That said, I might consider ordering again despite my disappointing first experience. The customer service was only online and this added to my frustration that I could not speak to a human sooner.

I thought i'd try my first online butcher order. My overall thoughts was, its alright but i wasnt blown away by it. ill break it down a little: the packaging was first rate, really well cooled etc, a bit battered from transit but i doubt thats the fat butchers fault. I dont know why but i thought all the meat would be UK sourced, it wasnt. The pork elements were the best, and ironically they were from NI & UK! Steaks were ok, felt like a little thin but maybe thats just me. The chicken had a lot of 'juice' in the packets and significant size differences between them! some were huge others were like a nugget. I havent tried the lamb but again some significant size difference, some a very very thin some are very fat! Overall i felt like this was the same quality you'd get at any supermarket. I also use a local butcher in my village and this wasnt up to the same standard, sorry.
