“I’m extremely disappointed with The Fat Butcher’s customer service. I ordered during a promotion advertised as “Buy a joint of beef for £11.99 and get two joints free.” This offer was later changed/removed after ordering. I contacted customer service and was told three separate times that someone would get back to me within 48 hours — this never happened. Eventually I was offered £35 compensation, even though my order total was £107. I never received that compensation either. After weeks of chasing, I had no choice but to go through my bank to get my money back, which should never be necessary. I have screenshots of the offer and all communication. Very poor handling of the situation and I wouldn’t recommend based on this experience”

“Absolutely disgusted how I have been treated as a returning customer....a bit of snow a couple weeks ago and my order never got delivered, I gave it a few days still nothing, I complained 2 DPD and the fat butcher, after 2 weeks I finally got a rather generic reply, got offered a 10% discount of next order, i havnt ordered since and i certainly won't in the future, regarding quality i would give it 5 out of 10...it is cheaper than genuine butcher meats but the quality is a poor comparison..”

“Didn't receive my order as DPD didn't follow instructions. Awful customer service from the fat butcher. Delivery was 31.12.25 and still no replacement or refund .no response from emails....now raising a dispute with my payment method. Avoid!”

“Just received a selection of meats from the fat butcher The filet steak was absolutely dreadful and consisted of a long strip of sinew with some small fillet steaks attached. The pack came full of blood so you can’t clearly see what you have until opened The silverside joints, instead of looking like “logs” were more like door wedges, so would be impossible to cook evenly The turkey breast was squashed into a bag no netting etc and looks decidedly odd I have purchased meat from online suppliers and this is so far off the mark as to be laughable We have £97 of absolutely dreadful meat fit for the bin Emails to customer services department go unanswered despite their website promise to make things right This is not how the Fat Butcher should treat customers”

“Ordered "2 Packs of British beef with pork mince" but when it arrived it was off! The appearance was the first indication but when we opened the first one it stank, so did the second pack. I emailed customer services immediately (30/10/25) and still haven't had a reply from them. So much for "If you have any issues, please give us a chance to resolve before leaving a review". This was my first and last order from the fat butcher.”

“unfortunatly the last few orders have been poor in quality espaecially the cut your own sirloin whereas the fat cap was an inch thick and accounted for just under a kilo of the total 3kg weight. considering i've been ordering from the fat butcher for nearly 2 years with monthly/6 weekly regular orderers its very dissapointing that the quality of the product hass dropped.”

“I'am very disappointed with the quality of the meat I did buy sirloin (no tib or rump available) I thought it would be slightly harder to eat but these are tough as old boots I tried eating 6 now they are full of old blood and not hung for neary long enough and every steak has been like chewing on leather also the sausages taste like dog food same smell to them aswell ruined the start to my carnivore diet I spent over £ 250.00 with the fat butcher but am seriously not impressed . If I had the time I'd send it all .all I can say is thank God for slow cookers 🤬”

“Ordered for Birthday party on 13th for delivery on 18th. Arrived on 22nd while I left for holiday. Never got a chance to taste or look at the meat, hopefuly the foxes did. Ignoring my emails, very frustrating experience, no apology, no explanation. Surely I wont try again. All I can do is give my review on trust pilot for others to consider and report it to my bank and hope for the best. Honestly I dont understand how this company can still exist with such a poor customer service.”
