WARNING TO ALL BUSINESS OWNERS: Do not use Yell.com for advertising. After been shut down because of coronavirus and having zero income, i stopped my direct debit and contacted them to explain my circumstances, after a couple of calls and telling them i would not be reinstating the direct debit until i received some income they said they would give me a payment holiday but instead sent my account to a debt collection agency, after taking to the agency who agreed they went the wrong way about it i am letting everyone know: YELL.COM are a money grabbing company who don't care about their customers circumstances especially through this unprecedented time. Im sorry but because of this i will be letting anyone know who will listen about this terrible company.

OVER 30 years AS A loyal CUSTOMER… OVER 30 years AS A loyal CUSTOMER DISGUSTING ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR FROM…yell/ Hibu ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING BEHAVIOUR FROM THIS COMPANY BY THE WAY THIS WAS FEW WEEKS AFTER RETURNING DUE TO COVID 19 After receiving a DEPT RECOVERY LETTER STATING I HAD TO PAY OVER £363 Because I had not paid my invoices due to COVID I was quite SHOCKED TO SAY THE LEAST AND IN THE MEAN TIME THEY HAD CLOSED ALL MY WEBSITE AND EMAILS IS I DID EVERYTHING THROUGH THEM NO EXPLICATION OR EMAIL OR EVEN A LETTER SO MUCH SO I COULDN'T GET ANY EMAILS OR CUSTOMERS LOOKING AT MY WEBSITE AND ITS BEEN WEEKS NOW CAN YOU IMAGINE MY DISTRESS AT SUCH A DIFFICULT TIME IT WAS A NIGHTMARE “at such a time when we are supposed to be in this together. SO I RANG EXPLAINED TO THE LADY BECAUSE OF COVID THE BUSINESS WAS STRUGGLING AS I DID NOT GET ANY HELP FROM GOVERNMENT SO PAYMENTS WHERE TAKING LONGER TO PAY BUT THEY WILL EVENTUALLY BE PAID IT IS GOING YO TAKE LONGER THAT WAS IN JUNE AND I HAD NOT HEARD ANYTHING TILL I RECEIVED THIS DEPT LETTER FROM A DEPT AGENCY I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO INSULTED IN MY LIFE. WHY DID YOU NOT CONTACT ME???????! Cancelled subscription and still looking for money after cancellation date. Asked for documentation to prove additional money due. No info sent and money they claim is owed has now been put in hands of debt collectors. A worry we could do without given all the issues caused by COVID

Avoid at all costs. As well as getting zero business from display advertising & paid-for searches, they also continually ignored us, didn't do what they say they would, and are now using a petty argument about terminology to claim they never knew we wanted to cancel the contract and to keep the money we have incorrectly been charged for months. Middlemen with nothing to offer and they know it, which is why they find every excuse to hold onto your money at all costs rather than provide a fair & worthwhile service.

I had a problem with a business I was unfortunate enough to use from Yell. so I left a 1 star review which vanished after I presume the mere behest of the business, further if a business has reviews only the 5 stara can be viewed, reviews less than that are included in the totals but are no where to be seen. You can easily check thatby looking for CJBS building services. Yell also provides facilities for the business to turn reviews on and off at their whim. Not a very trust worthy thing if you ask me.

Promised the earth when selling their services, delivered nothing, zilch. Poor website and over 12 months with a paid number 1 listing on yell.com and using their website service, not one single enquiry. Forget sales, conversions, etc Not ONE single enquiry!

YELL .com You are a complete disgrace. You lie, bully and threaten when I complained. You seem to have a team of bullies in your Birmingham office. I would highly recommend to anyone looking to advertise, steer well clear of this company.

Absolutely awful company. Have lied to me for the last 6 months. I have tried everything possible to right my account and I have been lied to!! They told me that because I’ve breached my contract I’ve got to pay the amount in full but they haven’t provided me with the full contract for 6 MONTHS!! But I still have to pay the full price. They did NOTHING to help me get the account right all they said was wait for it to get to debt collection and then we can sort it with you. I’m now being told that is incorrect. I have requested all recorded calls and will be forwarding to trading standards. I have kept in contact every month and tried my hardest to sort it and the account managers are never available. Calls are never returned. The communication with this company is horrendous. Only do a free listing they will lie to you and then do you out of pocket.

What a complete waste of money. - From being excited and hopeful from an excellent sales pitch. These guys could sell ice to the Eskimos by promising you the world - Once they have you it's soon apparent you fell for the smooth talk. The service was very slow to set up, full of errors and you quickly realise your not a valued customer, just a ticket number on a waiting list. - I recieved no sales, no leads and if I did ... it wasnt traceable. The worst £3k ive ever been swindled for by digital marketing "experts" - Locked into a 12 month contract for a diabolical service that doesn't only not work. But was mis-sold. Your cost per clicks if you use Yell will be higher than your competitors not using Yell. The Audience targeting is incorrect too. - promises made that were forgotten about. All in all, I would give Yell a 0.5/10 (Half a point for the genius way they use an old trusted name to rob you)

I have spent £115 per month since November...no customers and I'm lower now on Google than before I went with these low lives....they don't tell you that you're stuck with them for a whole year! Go for it if you like to throw your hard earned money away...I will be cancelling as soon as I can.

I have been researching Yell complaints… I have been researching Yell complaints these last few weeks and seen some shocking practices by this firm. I noticed Yell pop up on my Facebook page as a sponsored advert. So I made a comment as I discovered that Yell were non compliant with their direct debt scheme. As a result many people were cancelling their advertising contracts and claiming monies back via their banks as yell were not allowing people to save and download a copy of their account notices or sending them out advance notices of monies due as the direct debit scheme rules require.When I pointed this out to Yell chat on facebook I was told I was abusive. Especially when I pointed out the under handed practices being used by their high level team. I contacted yell today on the 0800 number and was told by the collections team that they were not aware what the conditions were under the banking direct debit scheme. I said how can you send debt collectors after people if you are in breach of the direct debit scheme? We agreed that they need to go and check what the rules are. Shocking. I later phoned back and made the person I spoke to aware that MP's arE now investigating the many complaints because of yell salesman miss selling the products. I told the person I had kept a copy of the yell chat so she could go and check. She said she would. She also took a reference to a vimeo/424744199 video regarding the story of yell.con and some £350,000 claimed back via people's banks. At least she was nice and was very concerned that the whole con was interesting even a Manchester MP that wanted to take up the detrimental practices for those that sign up with yell.con as the video describes. So best thing is to do your due diligence people and Yell so you get the advance notice requirement correct and all the other things revealed in the video. I told yell I hate yell.com like the facebook group under the same name I came across whilst researching facebook. Yell tried to block this review on Trustpilot but after providing proof it was verified
