“The customer service experience I had with Bare Cremation was quite simply second to none, that is, brilliant. The clarity of the discussions initially, the ability to totally take on a job and do it virtually without me having to lift a finger and without me having to worry about anything, the completion of the service before I had to pay one single cent, the value for money and the caring nature of the staff, it was all brilliant. I congratulate them whole-heartedly. I only wish they were in a line of business which I had a need for more often!”

“I have been so so happy with Bare and highly recommend them to anyone. I love how caring they have been in this hard time. They think of everything which takes so much stress away at this time Not only do they help prepare the most difficult of things they offer many various things such as solicitors and notifying authorities that need to be notified. If you can’t tell already I loved working with Bare right down to the reasonable costs of dealing with Bare as well.”

“A couple of years ago myself, husband and mother in law all prepaid our cremation with Bare as we didn’t want the fuss, expense and expectations of a regular funeral. In the last month we sadly have had to say goodbye to mum and Bare were wonderful from that initial phone call after she passed until we were hand delivered her ashes. Thank you to the Bare Team particularly Holly and Lydia 🙏”

“My experience with Bare funerals was so good. Everything was handled with compassion and caring for Brian and myself. They were helpful in every way, always available to answer any questions I had. Would highly recommend to anyone. We had a very low key cremation which was what my husband wanted. When the time is right we will scatter his ashes somewhere he wanted them to go.”

“It was very timely that I saw the ads for Bare on TV - perhaps they'd just commenced advertising that way - as my sister became ill and was admitted to hospital. I was impressed that there were now ways to cut out the often gloomy funeral parlour situations, hidden costs, and usually an overall cost running into thousands. When Rosie died in March, there was no alternative decision to make! It was instantly reassuring to have Emily assigned to me as an Arranger, and she kindly answered some questions, or checked with the relevant area. I was even more impressed as I went along - there was a list of immediate actions, and things less immediate to be done, which I followed. There are things which someone who had never organised a funeral - and even those who had, probably - would know, such as using the Australian Bereavement Registry to stop mail. As my sister had had mental health issues most of her life, she had struggled with being understood and valued, with few people that she considered friends. The significant exceptions were those in her partner Peter's family, who welcomed her and cared about her wellbeing. So mostly for this reason, Rosie's niece and myself were agreed that a straight cremation would be appropriate, as there would be so few attendees. I was so pleased that your website showed choices of urns etc, and to see that Rosie's ashes came in the very pretty cherryblossom urn I chose. I will show it to the others at her ceremony before it is buried. I was very impressed with Isaac, who delivered the ashes to me in a very kind yet professional manner, and at the time he specified. One of Peter's nieces suggested that Rosie be interred with Peter (who had died some years before) in their family gravesite, which we all think Rosie would have wished, and this has been arranged. I don't think Bare could have helped with the one issue which has caused me and Peter's niece Lisa a lot of stress. My sister died on 24 March 2025, and of course we had to wait for her ashes to be delivered, and avoid the Easter break and Mothers Day for the interment. But it was almost impossible to get onto Frankston Memorial Park for weeks. Lisa and I left messages which seemed to vanish into the ether. In desperation we discussed a reserve date in June, in case we simply could not make arrangements with the cemetery for 17 May (2025). So my sister's ashes will have been stored at my house for five weeks, a situation which could have distressed some families I feel. They also omitted to give Lisa some of the necessary paperwork until two weeks before! As in, last week! It turns out that the person who had the organiser role was away on leave, and the cemetery had no backup for him, so enquiries just weren't responded to. I do think that this is a serious oversight. Cemeteries simply can't be unable to be contacted on week days. Let's face it, people are always dying, and need to be buried or cremated! It was also strange to have to ring the Frankston council switchboard, which was invariably busy, to get onto the cemetery. The council does own the park, however it would be much more workable if they had separate numbers! I have been mentioning to others the great help that Bare has given me so far, and after the interment I will be starting on the estate paperwork with Bare Estates. I have every confidence that I will receive the same level of courtesy and answers to any questions I might have, so am not losing any sleep over this. Very many thanks for this very much needed service which these two insightful men have set up. Death and funerals are not subjects easily discussed, but the traditional funeral procedure has surely needed a complete shakeup and overhaul. I will be booking my own cremation at some stage! NOTE - Unsure how to answer the following couple of questions, as Rosie's niece Alexandra, who was Rosie's administrator prior to death, who made the first contact, although I had suggested Bare to her.”

As we have never lost a close family member before we were very concerned we would forget something. But Bare's dashboard and team helped us immensely. “Hi, I found all of your people great to deal with, from the person who answered the phone to the person who delivered the ashes, however I'm providing the following feedback to let you know where your service fell a little short in my opinion: 1. When filling out the initial form, I came to the section where you have to input how payment is going to be made. I ticked that the estate was going to pay, however the form then required an email address of the legal service organising probate in order to advance any further. At that point I hadn't yet made a decision about who was going to do this, but I needed to input an email address in order to complete the form. When I phoned and asked the person who answered what to do, she said to put my own email address in order to advance with the form. I queried about whether I'd be billed and she said no, but sure enough I received the bill. Now I'm sure you're going to have many clients like me who want to proceed with the funeral or cremation, and who also want the estate to pay for this service, but immediately following the death of a loved one have not yet made a decision about engagement of a legal service to organise probate. If they proceed with the advice to input their own email address, like I did, and are then billed directly even though they have specifically said that the estate was going to pay, it is going to leave a bit a of a bad taste in their mouth, as it did with me. 2. When I did receive the bill, it was sent on April 3, long before I received the ashes on the April 18. Apart from the fact that I shouldn't have even been billed (as outlined in point 1), no invoice should be sent before a service has even been completed. 3. When filling out the forms to engage Bare's legal service, I was provided with a checklist and one of the points was to upload the will, yet there was no section provided to upload the will. I asked your legal people about this and they confirmed that yes the website did require a will to be uploaded, and no there was no way to do so, other than emailing. Seems like an oversight. 4. The container that you provide the ashes in is riduculously hard to get into without almost impaling oneself on the device needed to open it. Also, a person with no hand strength would find it impossible to break open. A group of older people trying to scatter ashes would be completely stymied. Why not simply provide a screwtop with the type of child safety mechanism that is commonly found on bottles of turpentine?”

“Respect, professionalism, compassion, guidance and communication from the very first contact I had with Bare a few days prior to my husbands death. This continued all the way through. My family and I were able to customise my husbands Service which was greatly appreciated and encouraged. There was no pressure placed on us at such a difficult time in our lives. Bare was there to gently guide us through every step. Bare staff were always available by phone or email to answer any questions. An easy to use website and everything is simple and well laid out. Bare offered us exactly what we wanted at the time of my husbands death, a beautiful service that honoured my husband. Thank you Bare team for supporting us through such a difficult time and providing such an amazing service.”
