“I am still in the beginning stages of use with my student I am focusing on. I was a little disappointed by the pixelated images in the student work book. For the cost of the system, I expected higher quality. I was also a little disappointed that this is an old resource from 1998. I am waiting to see if this will impact reading scores before I feel comfortable recommending this to teaching colleagues at school, in my catchment work, or in my online groups or forums. I do like that the lessons are created so that I could potentially send my targeted student out to work one on one with an EA without much prep, and the student seems to be excited to "play with" all the cards and cutouts.”

“My daughter is 4 and started reading 3 letter words and I haven’t even been consistent with the program! We’ve done maybe 2-3 lessons. Just the CD alone is gold. We listen to it often and she has really grasped the sounds each letter makes.”

“I have not began the program fully but I put the CD for my daughter and sang some of the songs with her and she is beyond excited to start ! A child’s motivation is more than half the battle . I am an elementary school teacher with resources at hand and I still found that this program was better suited than some of the materials we have at school .”

“Really nice structure to the book series. The first books have all short A sounds, the next books run through the rest of the short vowels, then the books start bringing together two different vowels, then three and so on. Then it starts to mix in long A sounds and so on. The books are somewhat humorous and the illustrations are fun, which differentiates them from BOB books a lot. Areas of improvement needed: the book font makes upper case "I" look exactly the same as lower case "L", and makes lower case "T" look similar enough to an upside down "f" that it was confusing for a super beginning reader. And there's a need for more diversity in the set of characters.”

“I have taught three of my own children to read from this program and tutored 3 others. The growth is astounding. I think the most effective part is that there aren't any "gotcha" words. Words that they have never seen before that are going to mess them up like "tomorrow" or "yesterday". The progressive addition of sight words and sticking to the phonetic basics is WHAT THEY NEED! I recommend this program to EVERY age group that is either learning or struggling to read.”
