“Barclay is a joke. They manage Old Navy cards. I never got a bill, apparently, they got my address wrong. Within 60 days they sent me to collections. I have never been late on a payment and I have excellent credit score, near 800. Not now, thanks to this unreputable company. They never called me or emailed me. Yet took the time to report me to collections. Simply poorly managed.”
“Horrible! Crooks! I have 7 credit cards. This is my "last resort" card. It has to be a dire emergency for me to use this card. Their interest rates should be illegal. And, if you have a problem, GOOD LUCK. Their customer service reps are based in foreign countries. Difficult to communicate. Their favorite response..."we will mail you a letter". Horrible. You have been warned.”
“Worst cc . Everymonth I pay my card in full the day it arrives . Every month they show it late and not received 3 weeks after it was mailed sometimes 5 weeks. I have to cancel the check and pay over the phone. They ask every question about how it was paid , but don’t accept that the problem is on their end. Don't know what they do processing checks but its a mess.
Wait on phone 20 min for someone from phillipines who doesn't understand”
“A truly appalling service, simply to get a new card. Endless cut-offs, exhausting menus - then got asked to 'call back tomorrow'! Is this a large corporation or a local dodgy dealer? What a joke operation, forcing the customer to do all the work, and even complaining about how their system doesn't work. I've dumped them - no shortage of other providers.”
“Over a fortnight ago I wrote a letter of complaint to Barclaycard which has not been acknowledged. On my last statement there were twenty five transactions of £77.40 to the same company one beneath the other.
The company notified me to say there was an error, apologised and put £1857.60 back on my card.
Barclaycard did not flag this up which I find shocking.”
“Worst credit card service. I had a fraudulent transaction happen to my card in May of 2022, I complained and took action for this event, and talked with the fraud department and customer service supervisors, also. It’s been over 7 months and they didn’t solve my problem and they’re now saying to pay the bill. But I already sent all the transaction summaries which they asked for and it was clearly fraudulent activity. I’m not going to pay a single penny and please be aware of it. After 7 months it’s very frustrating and it feels like they don’t care about their customers. Worst experience!”
“Just received our Barclay credit card a over a month ago. Sent payment in 2 week prior to due date. I received an email that my payment hasn't been received. Called customer service and was told they did not receive my payment. I made payment over the phone and was advised to cancel my check which I did. I am now being charged by Barclay for returned check. I logged into my account and they show that they did receive my payment on the due date but didn't show up until 10 days later. They said they can't do anything about the returned check fee. I will NEVER use barclay ever again. They have the worst accounting practices and software.”
“I have been trying for 26 days to get my rewards money transferred to my bank account. They have given me 3 IT tickets but still have not resolved the issue.”
“Worst of the worst. Waited 50 mins then when I eventually got through the woman hang up, seemed ad if she could not be bothered. Could hardly hear her and seemed that she had me on loudspeaker too. Zero support, can't be reached during the weekend. Their app is the clunckiest thing ever. Will shut all my accounts. You won't keep a single penny of my hard earned cash with this appauling customer service.”

“0/5 stars. I was never given a confirmation email of my payment processing, so I accidently submitted it twice. When I called to correct the problem, I was told it would take 5-10 business days. Upon checking my bank, to see if the funds had been returned (the double payment made me negative in my account) I saw there was an additional $20 taken out for a Service fee ( for the 8 months I've had the card, there has never been a service fee), when I inquired about that, I was told they don't have record of it. Now there is apparently nothing I can do.”
“Applying for the Barclaycard Rewards card was a nightmare. It expected IT expertise beyond the average person's ability and failed to prepare you for the information it would require. Eventually I got the card. However, I have been unable to use it in the USA. I spent 15 minutes telephoning at my cost and was assured by an agent, whose accented English was difficult to understand, that the "suspicious transaction" ($100 at a supermarket) was what caused the problem and the card would be useable again. Today it was declined at a Starbucks. I don't want to spend money and time on another international call and I have been unable to make contact in other ways except to a "Bot" which is a waste of time as it ends up saying please call us.”
“Do not under any circumstance apply for a Barclays credit card. They will give you a credit limit, and then out of the blue decrease it by half, which negatively impacts your credit score. They did this to me on two different occasions. No other credit card company decreases your credit limit based off your balance on unrelated cards. Beware. They will ruin your credit.”
“WORST customer service I've experienced in my life. Barclays cashed my payment, then proceeded to send me late notices, add late fees AND drop my credit score. 3.5 HOURS!!! on the phone over 2 days. "disconnected" 5-6x, told supervisor would call me (didn't of course). FINALLY got transferred to "resolution" dept who only opened a case, told me it could take 2 billing cycles to look into. Then if they found payment I would need to open a case to reverse my credit score. Unbelievable!!!! Never, ever again.”
“Spoke to 7 different customer service reps that all transferred me somewhere else while trying to make a payment. The last one disconnected me. I received 8-10 spam calls after I spoke to them. The representatives were clearly from India. I am very concerned about my info now. Terrible customer service.

“Absolute WORST customer service I have EVER experienced! I never write reviews, but am trying to now prevent people from using Barclays Credit Cards due to my horrible experiences I have had with their customer service reps! Every time I call, I receive the WRONG information of how to handle my claims. I have STILL been waiting for 2 years to receive the refund from a fraud claim I filed! I have called various times about other issues and the reps are HORRIBLE and have no idea how to help! They even once sent me a new card that didn't work once activated. It's been problem after problem! Save yourself the headaches and time by going with a much better company!”
