“I ordered a dry robe and didn't fit so returned it for a refund and after 10 days of waiting still no funds back to me, appalling appalling appalling don't use this site customer service is horrendous and still awaiting refund. Never use again that's for sure...”
“Intermittent W101 error on shimano ebike making it useless. Sent away for repair. Nothing was done, sent back without a single part changed.
Problem comes back within 50km ride. Send another query…no reply in days.
Would never buy another bike through tredz again. Too slow, too ineffective at solving problems.”
“SHOCKING. First time customer. Made an order 2 to 3 weeks ago, still not received, countless emails back and forth. After making the initial order I received an email instantly, informing me they didn't have my items in stock due to a delay with their supplier and it would be 10 days before the stock arrives.....why advertise products that you don't actually have? Crazy. I tried to checkout twice because I accidentally entered my old card details the first time, the second time I e tered my correct details from my current card and everything went as it should. I'm still waiting for the 2 items I ordered and it's gone past the 1st Septemver which is when they told me they were expecting delivery of stock and they would then let me know when it would be delivered from there.”
“totally useless ordered 3 x blackwall city jet tyres they sent out amber wall then upon returning they sent amber wall again, most useless bike company i have ever used in 25 years of running my bike business”
“I feel so sorry for the people who I’ve paid large amounts of money to this company for bikes. The service is among the worst I have ever heard of. I only ordered 2 inner tubes. One week has passed with no sign of despatch. The live chat team just spout the same lies over and over again. Can’t process a refund because that apparently takes a whole team of people and I can’t speak to a manager because there aren’t any of those. It’s so easy to get customer service right. Tredz is owned by the people who own Halfords. How can you run a business of that size and treat your customers so poorly? It seems the current directors have only been in charge for a couple of years? Perhaps there are too many holes for them to plug? Their strategy doesn’t seem to be working. I’ve only lost out on a small amount of money so can write it off if I need to but they must be raking it in by letting all of these other people down. Shame on you.”
“Similar problems to the majority here
Similar problems to the majority here. Spent £2300 on a bike, the rear wheel fell apart after 400 miles. Bought from wheelies.co.uk, who are uncontactable completely, so contacted Tredz. (who built and sent the bike, and after further investigation, are sibling companies). "Will send you a wheel box, expect it soon", John from customer service. A week later, no box.
Appalling customer service. No answer to phones, or emails. I think my emails scared John. Perhaps he's shy.
2 weeks now, no bike. no urgency, no priority, no apology, no remedy.
I will update as the saga continues.
Edit: Called them again, spoke to Owain today. My first call, John had gone for a break, but would call me back. My second call, 15 minutes later, John was on the phone. I think John is avoiding me. Supposedly, TNT are picking up the wheel in the morning, possibly with or without the box. Although John said he would have the box sent, and raised a ticket, it didn't happen. Tredz will look into it, so it doesn't happen again. My faith has expired. I offered to package the wheel myself. If the courier got here first, at least it would be good to go. If the box got here first, I'll slip the packaged wheel into it. So far, £40 spent on having the wheel repaired (although rebuild recommended at the LBS quoted at £97, and £105 in taking the bus for three weeks). Lets see.....
Edit 2.0
As you will see from the reply from Vicky, the wheel got picked up eventually, despite Johns mistake, and is now with TNT being delivered to Tredz, today (12th July), before 6pm.
Let the countdown commence.
P.S 20th June was when the problem was first reported. 3 full weeks now.
Edit 3.0
Its now the 19th July, a full week they have had the wheel. No replies to emails asking for updates, not even an acknowledgement they received the wheel.
Edit 4.0
No answer to emails, so called them. Guess who i got? Go on, guess. Thats right. John. He got a piece of my mind. He says, he understands. Empathy is not a trait Tredz have displayed so far.
He also promises me an update on progress by end of play today. 5.30pm.
I promised him legal action if he didn't.
Once again, hold your breath people.
Oh, and i noticed a trend of multiple good reviews after i post an update. Usually about clothes ordered. really? do people review cycling short service?
Edit 5.0
5.50pm, nothing from John. Guess he's as true to his word as i expected.
Edit 6.0
So finally yesterday morning (20th July), after another ignored email to John, i got a phone call from Catherine within the warranty team. Very pleasent, who apologised profusely, then told me my wheel was in the rack, ready to be rebuilt. Finally, there is light at the end of the tunnel. I reminded her if i got the wheel back, and a proper job hadn't been done, it would only infuriate me further. Catherine said she'd call be back by the end of the day. She didn't, but she did however call me this morning (21st).
Wheel has been rebuilt - new spokes, new knuckles, everything taken care of. It's with quality control, before being shipped. Expect it back tomorrow (although i realistically think the day after).
Lets see, fingers crossed, will it come back? Will it be as good as new? Will i ever get back on the road?”

“Extremely poor after sales service. Faulty wheel collected by Tredz for warranty repair. Many weeks later...threat of litigation and wheel returns with gear cassette re-fitted. Failed again within 10km. Wheel was not repaired...bike has gone back. Tredz not interested. Want to charge to repair? Going legal now. Use this company at your peril! Personaly, must rate as the worst company I have every dealt with by a long way. Wish I had read the reviews here first.”
“Hi all,
Of course I hadn't read these dire reviews before using Tredz and sadly, my experience will not be contradicting them. I placed an order on 26th May 2021 - delivery date stated as 8-10th June (which in the internet world is pretty slow) and of course today I received an e mail stating that due to a "stock error" they do not have one of the items ordered even though it was stated as 'in stock' on their website. To make matters worse, I had received an e mail on Monday 7th stating that my PayPal account was not valid and my order would be held until this wa resolved. Of course my PayPal account is fine. When I contacted Tredz, they said they'd made a mistake and it was ok. They seem pretty incompetent - shame as I'd like to avoid the all mighty Amazon.”
“Gave wrong advice on the accessories to the bike which they refuse to refund due to unpacking. But how are shoppers supposed to know the accessories are wrong without trying to install given the fact it was from your bike specialist's recommendation. Customer Service is extremely unhelpful and lack of training.”
“I am now up to six months with no bike.
I have emailed back with clear instructions of what needs to be done as a headless chicken would have more sense of direction than Tredz. As per the other comments unless you like walking and dont need a bike i would approach with caution. my order was pre covid and pricing and dispatch was ok but the service ever since is the worst ive ever experienced in my life.”
“Avoid! They sell expensive, damaged goods!
Bought a bike (£1500), it arrived very poorly packaged, with damaged rail guards which were rubbing against the back tyre. Front inner tube valve was damaged beyond repair, & needed to be replaced at cost by me! Seems Tredz are prepared to do absolutely nothing apart from apologise - which is meaningless when I've spent a considerable amount of money, not only purchasing the bike but also repairing it!! Avoid - customer service non-existent!”
“Honestly never experience such infuriating, indifferent and inept customer service.
All fine when buying the bike - it arrived next day.
Pedal crank fell off on my 4th short ride. Took weeks to call me back. Sent me to Halfords for a fix to then tell me they wouldn't allow Halfords to fix the bike.
Then the silliness really got going - days chasing to get my bike collected. Weeks chasing a response to then be told it wasn't covered by warranty - the pedal fell off!? After weeks of chasing with no update i was offered an exchange but they had no bikes in my size they were willing to exchange for.
Multiple calls, emails and live chat with people who just didn't care and would make promises they had no intention of following through.
Finally get assured my bike was coming back next day only to be told hours later it was too short notice to prep the bike - odd because they could ship next day on initial purchase.
They simply aren't bothered about you once they've got the sale. Sarcastic, catty remarks from livechat and customer service is the best you can hope for.
The repair took a matter of hours yet 6.5weeks on I'm still without my bike.”
“AWFUL, £1250 BIKE CRANKS FELL APART AFTER 3 RIDES. SENT BACK UNDER WARRANTY WAITED A MONTH WAS TOLD THE PART WOULDNT ARRIVE FOR 3 MONTHS SO THEY BODGED IT AND SENT IT BACK. FIRST IDE CRANKS FELL APART COMPLETELY, DISGUSTING. IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING IT TO SMALL CLAIMS COURT.”
“They sent me a "built bike" that hadn't even had the gears calibrated. The spoke on the wheels also loose. An absolute shambles to be honest. Never again”
“Sold me a faulty product and refused to replace although still under warranty, extremely unhelpful, pushy customer service team. All of my queries were deflected and blame placed on myself, the bike I purchased had barley been ridden and my experience has been absolutely appalling”
“The website has good range. Quality products. But! Posting and delivery delay from their side is too long that's why 1 star review. Needs to be streamlined.
I ordered a Shimano CS-HG41 7 Speed Acera Cassette 11-28T and it has taken 7 days before it is even processed. Still waiting for it. There needs to be more of a warning that it will take this long. I have not been able to use my new bike until I got the replacement part. I will update to see how long it took for it to be posted.”
“Ordered products on the 12th of jan still havnt dispatched ordered things from crc 5 days later and received them within three days. Fair enough if you spend like £20-£30 on a product but when ur spending £600-£700 you would expect better service will never be using them again”
