My experience with Affordable Mobiles has been absolutely awful from start to finish. I was given conflicting information at every turn, and every interaction left me more frustrated and confused. In one week alone, I had to contact the team on four separate days, spending at least an hour each time trying to resolve issues that should have been straightforward. I was promised manager call-backs that never happened, and when I eventually did speak to a manager, I was passed around repeatedly. It became clear that there is no manager capable of actually resolving customer issues. I was advised to port my number off the O2 network as part of the cancellation process and then told I could place a new order while the cancellation was being completed. Later, I was informed this was completely incorrect — because once I had ported my number, I was no longer eligible for an upgrade. Another colleague confirmed that the salesperson who processed my new order should not have done it as an upgrade in the first place. None of this was explained to me until after the cancellation had already been processed. When I called again, I was told to cancel my new order so they could process another correctly — but as soon as I did, I was informed that the phone I wanted was now out of stock. This seemed far too convenient and likely meant they simply couldn’t provide it anymore. Due to all this confusion and poor handling, I lost the deal I wanted entirely and decided to go elsewhere. I thought that would be the end of it, but I was wrong. I have now received a £750 bill from O2 for the phone I returned within the 14-day cancellation period. Affordable Mobiles assured me several times that this fee would be waived, yet it still hasn’t been done. I’ve spent several more phone calls this week chasing their team for confirmation, with no resolution. To make matters worse, every time I’m on the phone with them, I can hear loud music, shouting, and laughter in the background — it sounds more like a social gathering than a professional call centre. This is truly shocking service. The team is untrained, unorganised, and fails to follow through on anything they promise. There is no proper complaints department, and the environment is completely unprofessional. Affordable Mobiles may have sales centres, but they operate like an online-only business with zero accountability and no real customer service. I will never use them again and strongly advise others to avoid them.

After placing an order, I received an email 1 minute later to explain my order was on hold. It transpires that my order was cancelled for "security reasons" but after checking all of my details and running a credit score, there is no valid reason as to why they cancelled. I spoke to two members of the customer service department who were unable to give any further information who have now informed me that I am unable to place any further orders with the business. I've had a very poor experience with this company and would not recommend them at all.

Awful experience. Ordered phone with a new contract and PAC code to transfer. Waited a week before I got confirmation new phone would be delivered. Several days came and went and no phone. Contacted DPD who say the parcel has gone missing. Affordable mobiles raised an investigation, and I was told I should only be waiting a few days and a new phone would be sent. After a week of no communication, I contacted them only to be told it could be up to two weeks wait (so another week). Waited another week and no communication so chased again, only to be told it could be 3 weeks, but the operative said they would chase it and see if a phone could be posted sooner. I never heard back, so chased again, and was told it would need to be escalated with DPD as they hadn’t replied. Each time I was told I would hear back, and never did. Continually chasing, with no idea when a phone will be sent. Surely their issue now is with DPD, so I can be sent a replacement, and they can speak with DPD regarding this as an ongoing thing. I don’t see why you would not prioritise the customer. I am still waiting a month after placing my order, and no idea when my phone will be sent. Terrible experience so far.

Very quick & easy service, good selection. Just set up a new contract & phone for my son. My contract is due to change & I will be continuing with Affordable Mobiles

Terrible company- bought a phone and didn't receive it for over 2 months, customer service tried to convince me to change my order because they had run out of stock and threatened I wouldn't get the watch which came in the deal if I didn't change, escalated care promised contact regarding compensation- didn't and ignored me afterwards. Now that they've gone into administration and been bought out, they won't deal with my case anymore as it was before this point and the company dealing with cases pre-administration (SFP) say there's nothing they can do because all communication I had with escalated care was over the phone so nothing in writing, even though they didn't respond to emails or live chat, so had to be done over the phone. It had caused me so much stress and anger, I wish I had never bought with them in the first place.

This is a scam they take upfront money from you before accepting the contract then claiming you will have your money back within an hour while you really must wait for it for a week. Absolutely scam!

I bought an iPhone 12 and package of unlimited data, texts and calls with Three for £31 per month. Since day one I’ve been overcharged every month by Three. They are literally stealing monies from my bank account every month! So far I’ve spent two months trying to get the situation put right and the stolen monies refunded to my account. Affordable Mobiles say the fault is with Three and Three say the fault is with Affordable Mobiles. I’m being sent round and round in circles. I believe my contract is with the retailer, Affordable Mobiles, but either way neither company is sorting out what should be such an easy problem to put right. I shall be contacting BBC’s Watchdog programme and Trading Standards about all of this if my complaint is not dealt with by close of play tomorrow, 30th January. Beware of Affordable Mobiles’ packages with Three - they have admitted to me that Three is overcharging me and that this is a problem they have had with Three and yet they are still advertising packages with Three

Received a pixel 6 just over 12 months ago. Looked after perfectly and it abruptly stopped working. After returning to A1/ Affordable mobiles it took over a month to receive a response advising phone was beyond repair. Offered a 3 month old pixel 7a as a replacement which I assumed would be in a similar condition to the phone returned. Instead when it arrived today it had a significant scratch on the screen which is unsightly and would drastically reduce resale value. I informed A1 immediately and was told it was damaged in transit (not sure how when the packaging is immaculate) and I now need to submit a fraud report as I didn't sign for the package and wait for them to investigate. All this and I'm continuing to pay for a pay monthly phone I'm unable to use. You can't talk to anyone at A1/ Affordable Mobiles on the phone as they only offer live chat- which takes an age to connect- or email. Please don't make the mistake I have and avoid at all costs

Ordered phone , had confirmation then another e mail to say delay as had to contact o2 . O2 said don’t deal with them ! Paid deposit - pending on my account for a week then suddenly disappeared - no phone , impossible to speak to normal person for help . Have blocked on my bank account and bought from Carphone warehouse .

Terrible company would not recommend to my worst enemy, sent faulty phone then said after they had phone over 2 weeks that we can’t cancel contact due to 14 day cancellation

What a rubbish company. Please never use or trust this company again. After calling me almost everyday,sometime twice a day because my contract was up for renewal, they miss-sold me a phone. I sent it back within my 14 day cooling period. They never bothered to register the return on their system until 12 days later. Meanwhile 3 network assuming that the contract was accepted started my new contract! I called 3, they said they could not cancel my contract because it was taken through a 3rd party. So I had no phone and was now paying for a contract I should not have. Called affordable mobile for the umpteenth time, a rude rude man told me that he was doing me a favour essentially taking my call because he works in sales not customer services but oh by they way they do not have a customer service line only sales line ( how predictable) so he can't give me customer services number. Apparently in order to cancel my contract I have to go on a 1 month "rolling" sim contract which I have no idea how much it will cost or when the said 1 month will start! I can't believe trading standards has not investigated these rouges. Please anyone out there do not use these charlatans. They will leave you out of pocket with no phone and stuck with a contract you cancelled.

Very poor service agreed contract on Wednesday all security checks they said phone tomorrow Thursday .I said I couldn’t be in as working away can they deliver Saturday they said no problem. Which obviously was. As when I contacted them for update Saturday they said I wouldn’t be getting it till available again absolute joke keep away.

Complete waste of time. Invested time making the application and providing identification documentation requested subsequent to my application. The due date for delivery of my phone (which already had a significant two week lead in time) came and went. No phone arrived. I tried to call the customer services number, but it became apparent it was only available for sales. All customer service communication at through live chat which I got cut off from twice. I eventually got through and was frustratingly asked to resend my ID documentation (two weeks after first provided!). I then received an email to say my order had been cancelled. Apparently I had not passed the “security checks”. I feel like this is an excuse as I am a solicitor with a full-time job and a homeowner. A complete waste of my time and energy. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere!
