For what you pay and the service provided Alpha is great value. Each evening Choice of veggy.meat.fish and assorted salad. The drivers actually make the trip and as being employed owned company give it that bit extra. Modern coaches and big choice of trips. Would recommend

Just returned from a great holiday on the Isle of Wight with Clint who is a very good, helpful and professional driver, shame the same can't be said for the two feeder drivers. One who doesn't seem to know what a red traffic light means and the other never said a word to us the entire journey home. We had a great room at The Shanklin Hotel and the meals were very good. The only downside to our experience at the hotel was on occasions we had to wait a fair while between courses at busy times, when other coach parties were also at the hotel. This was no fault of the staff who were run off their feet at these times, perhaps this could be rectified by increasing staffing levels in the restaurant at such times. This hotel and the Cavendish at Exmouth are the best we have stayed at so far

The holiday was to Tenby journey was fine. As I have difficulty in with stairs I asked for a room which was suitable and was told it was a LOW Floor with a couple of steps to get to it. On arrival these couple of steps turned out to be TWO Flights. The hotel staff practical carried me upstairs, there was a lift but only on the half stair. I There was NO lift from the ground floor at all so every time I went out I has the problem of climbing the first flight of stairs (9 steps) which was very difficult for me as there was only the banister to hold onto. I found when I reached the lift it was easier to go to a floor higher and walk down. As a lot of travellers are retired and of an older age group I didn't see any "grab" rails anywhere. The hotel (The Belgrave) staff, food, service, and cleanliness were fine but NOT suitable for anyone with even a slight disability. First time I had used Alpha and I expected a better service than what I got.

Booking Ref BKL64 Departure date 23/06/19 We have just returned from 7days at the Cliffe Norton tenby in the brochure it states it has just been recently refurbished on arrival we where allocated rooms 5+6 one single and one double both with sea views to get to the rooms we took the lift to floor 2 but had to walk down the stairwell to get to the rooms, this stairwell also doubled as a fire escape if a fire had started at the bottom of it god knows what would have happened on entry to the room we noticed the lack of space it was very tight for two people to move about. the room it self did not appear to have been refurbished the radiator was rusting. paint was peeling and ceiling was stained. the bathroom? well to get in you opened the door stood at the side of toilet then shut the door to gain access to the wash basin which was hidden behind the door .the bath had big piece of enamel chipped off the wash basin w as not fully sealed (sealant missing). very hard to regulate shower one minute ok the next boiling hot readjust then to cold readjust again start all over then give up. the reception and bar area well used but basic faults spotted like no toilets on the ground floor ladies up the stairs towards the restraint via step (1 toilet only ). gents up 9 steps ( 1 urinal 1 toilet ) not very good for people with walking difficulties ( a lot of your clients) that's the bad news over good news lovely views ,nice food, nice bar area, great staff who you cannot fault. I only hope my next holiday with alfa which is already booked for Great Yarmouth proves to be better are it could be the last booked with you. a reply would be most grateful. thank you Linda and Jimmy Miller 30/06 2019

We have just returned from 8 days in Weymouth.Very disappointed with the holiday . Alfa advertised that they have 10 New Executive coaches, where are they ?We had a 59 reg bus which was very uncomfortable, had no radio, toilet disgusting, andbus smelt like pee.!!!! The Central Hotel is like the house that Jack built,it was very dated, and in a very noisy back street with a nightclub at the end of street, very noisy till 4am at weekends. The only good thing was the staff were brilliant very helpful room was kept clean ,towels changed regular, food was always hot and service brilliant,Would not return to Central Hotel because of Location in very noisy ,scruffy back streets!!!

Don’t travel with Alfa if you want a quiet peaceful journey. Just returned from 6 nights in Cromer ( the hotel Hotel de Paris was lovely and the staff kind, helpful and friendly) but the travelling was a nightmare. Loud ‘pop’ music was played constantly by the driver...I resorted to listening to the radio on my phone via earphones but this did not mask the noise...”.it’s like being in a disco” commented a passenger in an adjacent seat. This was also the same on the included excursions, two of which we avoided because of the music. The lunch stop too was poor. For various reasons, not financial, my husband and I take our own food and drink but at the ‘Farm Shop’ stop there was nowhere outside to sit...we had to walk up snd down the dusty car park for nearly an hour and perch on some dusty old pallets to eat. When I raised this with the driver, he was quite rude and commented on the lines...I can’t provide plastic chairs and tables. All in all , what should have been a lovely holiday , and the Cromer part if it was, was totally spoiled by the travelling. We won’t be using Alfa again. A letter of complaint will be posted to them tomorrow.

My first experience of a holiday by coach. Excellent value, the staff are amenable and very courteous. The organised days out are not compulsory and I elected to stay within the area apart from one. All the staff are helpful and our stay was a great and relaxing break. Ideal if you want a break from driving or sitting in airports for hours. Fully recommend this company.

Kevan the coach driver was very knowledgeable and friendly. The receptionists at the hotel Cavendish were polite and helpful. ~The food and service in the restaurant was great. And our room wasn't all that great, it was better than the ones we stayed in at the expensive Holiday Inn in Ipswich two weeks earlier. But as for the excursions, we didn't have enough time to enjoy any of them. We felt rushed and pressured because we were allowed so little time at the various resorts. It would have been much better to just visit one site per day and have enough time to explore.

This is the first time that I have traveled abroad for a number of years due to mobility restriction,s so I was somewhat apprehensive before the trip. We booked through Alfa Travel as we use this company for other trips within the UK and they were exception with the planning, booking and delivering top class service, from the moment we reached Birmingham Airport to arriving at our Hotel in Jersey. I would recommend anyone that has mobility problems to contact Alfa as they will arrange staff to assist with everything from meeting you with a wheelchair after checking in, accompanying you through security and the departure gate to boarding the plane. This service continues upon arrival to your hotel and also for the return journey home.

Whilst the 8 day hol. to Scotland, Tour No. 433M, last week was great for the tour itself, and all the places we visited, the driver and coach was great, the Croit Anna Hotel, Fort William was exceptionally clean and the staff were great, the Hotel itself could do with a complete refurb. Indeed we were told this was taking place and the dining room and downstairs cloakrooms had been undertaken, also some of the bedrooms. The outside is in need of a good power washing and coat of paint. This would make for a much better outside appearance as the hotel is situated in such beautiful surroundings overlooking Loch Linnhe. The main complaint was the return journey which took us right across country to stay overnight at Teeside, why? we could not understand. Otherwise the weather was kind the company great and scenery great. a

Disgraceful and dangerous feeder coach service, first and last time I will use Alfa. Service and attitude at Reading interchange was unprofessional and a complete shambles.

Have had several good holidays with Alfa but if you are disabled in any way do not think of going on the Blackpool trip as the driver made an awful comment to the severely visionary impaired lady l was travelling with. The lady uses a white stick and was never asked if she needed any help except on the last day. The driver went to give her a questionnaire form and she said it’s no good giving it to me. He tried again and l said what do you think the white stick is for? His reply was sympathy. This was said in front of a coach load of passengers and was very embarrassing . I have complained to Alfa but they just said this wasn’t the sort of behaviour they expected from one of their drivers. Such a shame as most of their drivers are great.

Have been on at least 10 holidays with Alfa and must say most of them have been brilliant. I would however not recommend the Commadore hotel in Wales as it was not very clean, and despite me sending Alfa pictures of the state of the hotel and all the rubbish lying around including a lit candle on a shelf in a corridor which had drapes on the ceiling they maintain there was nothing wrong with it. That’s ok if you like to sit in a garden area with wet towels flapping around youMy main complaint however is one of their drivers who does the Blackpool tour. I accompanied a lady who is nearly blind and uses a white cane. The driver went to give her a questionaire form and she said it’s no good giving it to me and l said to him what do you think the white stick is for? His reply sympathy. I couldn’t believe he said this in front of a coach full of people and my friend was absolutely mortified. I would not believe in this day and age such a comment would be made. I must say that the drivers are usually a happy bunch who seem to enjoy their job and he is the exception.

You are going to get problems with all coach companies. I have been with alfa for 20 years and have found them brilliant. You will get some problems that are out of their control and some people who want five star treatment but don't wish to pay to pay for it. I have only found one driver that was not up to their usual standard.

Again, another cancelled tour due to lack of numbers. Alfa cannot be relied upon. Our tour was booked in June 2018, departing May 2019. They offer 10% discount as compensation, but we have already had an email offering 10% discount off all Spring 2019 departures. They are a joke Company.
