My long awaited delivery for my fridge two hours past the ETA was made even worse when the two delivery team said they didn't bring the delivery straps and would need to meet a colleague to get them. Had told the customer service team when pre-call made. Disappeared off to their next stop with no communication and still showed next stop then 1 stop and then finally it was 'completed' and 'delivered'. Being a Saturday, now cannot follow-up until Monday with a current problematic fridge in not cooling, made worst by switching off for the collection having emptied it. No communication and poor service.

This is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Their customer service has been terrible from start to finish. They were supposed to install an integrated fridge with fixed doors, as they advised that was the only suitable solution. Instead, their fitters arrived and did a poor-quality job using hinge doors, screwing them into already damaged holes. In less than 24 hours, the entire fridge door came crashing down—just inches away from my 1-year-old child. This was extremely dangerous and completely unacceptable. To make matters worse, they then told us not to use the fridge at all while waiting for a replacement, claiming it would no longer be considered “new” if we did. This left us without a usable fridge through no fault of our own. When they returned to fit the replacement fridge, they caused further damage—this time to the base where the fridge was meant to stand. As a result, they couldn’t even complete the installation and simply left the fridge sitting in my living room. I later spoke to a polite representative who apologised and assured me that a full refund would be approved immediately if I arranged for a carpenter to fix the damage and submitted an invoice, especially if it was over £150. I followed these instructions, paid for the repair, and sent the invoice. The invoice came through and was certainly over £150. However, when I called to follow up, I was told by another agent that the invoice had to go through a claims team, and that it would take up to 28 days just to start the claims process and take any actionable steps—not even to process the refund itself. This was never communicated to me initially. After everything we had already been through, being told to wait even longer—with no clear timeline for actual payment—was incredibly frustrating. In the end, I felt forced to accept a lower amount than invoiced just to receive payment sooner. As it stands, the fridge is still not fitted, and this situation is ongoing. I will continue to update this review as things progress. Overall, a shocking experience—poor workmanship, lack of accountability, and inconsistent communication throughout.

Just had a new fridge freezer delivered on order number AOL223060609. Getting it to my property was pretty difficult , but the lads were up to the challenge! We have our new fridge freezer installed and working within 72 hours of ordering, and the delivery guys were amazing; polite, professional and worked their socks off to get a very large and heavy item into a difficult to reach space. Just gutted I didn’t have any cash to tip them as they were definitely worth it!

Love AO cannot fault the website or products. But when I make a purchase of £400 and then 24 hours later get a call trying to getvl more money out of me through insurance it makes me want to never buy from you again. Stop forcing people to give you a phone number and then use it to try to getore money from them. It is scummy.

John Roberts, CEO of AO.com, has stated that “treat every customer like your gran.” If you want your grandmother to have her property damaged, see incompetence up close, and then be effectively called a liar and a grifter, then by all means buy from AO. Sane customers should avoid at all costs. I simply wanted a new fridge freezer and my old one taken away. I went to AO. On arrival, AO’s men manhandled my old fridge into the middle of the room and then unexpectedly became utterly defeated and said they couldn’t get it through the door. I could not see the problem. A fridge that had come through the same door just 12 months earlier apparently no problem for my removal men, but AO.com’s “professional” appliance delivery men were baffled and simply gave up. It was lunchtime, I suppose. Unhelpfully, they offered to put the new fridge on my doorstep and leave me with that problem. My husband has recently been killed. This completely unexpected scene had me weeping. I went to get a tissue, and instead of helping, they used my breakdown as their chance to run away. When I looked into the kitchen only minutes later, I discovered they’d gone — leaving my now footless fridge listing like the Leaning Tower of Fridge. I also spotted they hadn’t returned the freezer drawers that I’d seen them walk off with earlier. I was left to struggle to move it back to where it had come from. So now I have no new fridge, and I have an old one significantly damaged from its state before AO came into my life. I called customer services immediately to get them to come back with my drawers. I was told the drivers said they didn’t have my drawers, and was effectively called a liar. I asked: had they thrown them away somewhere? I’ll go and get them out of the bin. She wasn’t prepared to even ask them that. I cried all the way through my recorded call with Natasha in customer services. Getting nowhere, I complained in writing. The CEO’s breathtaking response was that he had a knack for spotting chancers and wasn’t prepared to help. He effectively called me, in writing, a grifter and an extortionist. The language was breathtakingly offensive. So shocked by their pathetic customer service, combined with the grave offence of calling me a liar, I’ve taken this up with every relevant body. Case now with Retail ADR (37381). Go anywhere else. Anywhere.

Dreadful customer service. Placed an order missed delivery. Placed same order a second time and at the time nobody advised me they can delivery anything between 7am and later. They rocked up at 730am and I missed the second delivery. I asked as a gesture of good will can they waiver a third charge they refused. Woefully customer service.

I was very impressed with AO. I ordered an integrated product, but I ordered the wrong size. However, their customer sevices made the returns process,re-delivery and installation a very smooth process. Will use again

Genuinely the worst experience I’ve ever had buying anything online. I purchased a washing machine and fridge from AO.com specifically because I needed a smooth delivery and installation process due to my ill health — the experience has been the exact opposite. Despite paying £30 for “expert installation”, the washing machine waste pipe was installed incorrectly, resulting in a brand new machine being filled and contaminated with literal brown waste (not waste water, actual waste) on its very first use. The AO engineer who came to assess it said he had never seen anything like it in all his years working there. We also purchased a black American fridge freezer which arrived with a deep white scratch across the front door. We were offered a measly £50 to keep a damaged product, which is completely unacceptable. We requested a replacement for the damaged fridge, but delivery has now “failed” three times because drivers have refused to bring it upstairs. After a 45-minute call with customer service — where we clearly explained everything in great detail — we were repeatedly assured that a suitable team would be sent to delivery the replacement fridge. However, today the driver walked in — no hello, no nothing — just rudely stated “I’m not doing it”, and immediately left in his van without any explanation whatsoever, leaving us completely stunned by the interaction. This is a complete failure of both your installation service and delivery process. You have wasted hours of our time trying to resolve issues that should never have happened in the first place. How there is a score of 4.9 on here is beyond me, perhaps we were just unlucky in the area we are in but be warned that every experience with ao is not as 5-stars as it may appear from their trust pilot score.

Faulty goods, dangerous installation of kitchen items. When you attempt the return, they try and push you away to the manufacturer instead of dealing with themselves. This used to be a good company, now seems to be only interested in keeping taking money, not customer satisfaction. Been offered a 55%of goods value refund on the back of my experience, so now have the hassle of having to take them through the courts to uphold my rights and the consumer act 2015. An utter shambles of a company.

If I could put less than one star I would, we have had the absolute worst experience with this company. They have not only put us out once but now twice. They have the worst customer experience I’ve ever experienced, one person in their phone line even went as far as hanging up on me when they couldn’t answer my questions. They are so slow and never have appointments to actually deliver on the “service” you pay for them to provide to you. I wouldn’t ever buy from them again and I urge you not to either.

Order number AOL218645138. We bought a tumble dryer from AO and it has recently developed ongoing faults. We have AO Direct Care, so we expected this to be handled properly. Engineers have now attended three separate times, all for the same issue: • 6 January – Engineer visit (ref 12622370) • 14 January – Engineer visit (ref 12646294) • 21 January – Engineer visit (ref 12656524) Each time we were told the problem had been fixed. Each time, the same fault returned. After the third visit, we were clearly told that if it couldn’t be resolved, the appliance would be replaced. That still hasn’t happened. On top of this, we have had to constantly chase AO for updates, calling on 5, 6, 7, 12, 14, 20 and 22 January. That is an absurd amount of contact just to try and get a faulty appliance sorted. Despite three failed repairs, repeated calls, and promises being made, we are now being strung along with no resolution and poor communication. It genuinely feels like AO are just dragging this out instead of honouring what they already agreed to. This isn’t a minor inconvenience. A tumble dryer is an essential household appliance, and taking time out again and again for engineer visits, only to be left with the same issue, is beyond frustrating. Paying for a care plan clearly means very little if, after three failed engineer visits, nothing actually happens. The service has been poor, stressful, and a complete waste of time, and I would not recommend AO or their aftercare based on this experience.

How does a company the size of AO consistently deliver the most exceptional standard of customer care and service excellence? I really wish more companies could learn from them! I am now a repeat customer and every single time I order a product from them I am bowled over by the way I am treated and the fact that nothing is too much trouble. Even a recent purchase of a Smeg kettle and toaster where my husband and I could not decide on the correct colour, (and changed our minds three times returning and re-ordering) did not phase them in the slightest. Their customer service team are friendly, polite, efficient and so helpful, making even slightly stressful decisions so much easier to deal with. In my opinion they outshine any other appliance retailer and even John Lewis and M & S are second to this level of professionalism and service. I really hope they keep this up for years to come and congratulations to whoever heads up the customer service team, for they are doing an exceptional job! Thank you AO!

This is my 2nd order the IST last year you delivered a washing machine and I paid for installation and your delivery people didn't know how to install properly so told me it was faulty when the 2nd 1 was delivered the people installing it said there was nothing wrong with it so I had the inconvenience of waiting for a 2nd washer for nothing Now today your delivery van turned up with my TV and said they couldn't unload it due to a faulty van so will deliver some other time this means more time of work and loss of money as self employed I have been caught by this company 2 out of 2 orders now will NEVER order from them again

I have now ordered 12 products from a and o from washing machines, cooker, fridge, freezer etc. I would never order from anywhere else. I have always found their customer service excellent. Wanted to thank Kaye particularly for her help and patience in ordering a replacement remote for our new television. A very happy customer! .

AO fitter incorrectly installed my washing machine causing major damage from leak After buying a complete package from AO in September (new washer delivered, installed and existing one removed), there has been significant water saturation to walls and flooring throughout my kitchen causing substantial damage. A leak and trace inspection was undertaken which found that the washing machine was incorrectly installed, causing a leak over weeks and that AO were responsible. Sending all evidence to AO last week resulted in a call to me (nothing in writing) saying "we are not responsible".

Failed to deliver a laptop on time as promised. Has caused me a lot of hassle which is not needed at this time of year. Never again will I use AO!!!

Not sure how her names spelt sorry. Noool sounds like.. On 9 /12. Noool and Emma They both were very helpfull ( I have proof ) they didn't give up on sorting out my problem with Samsung. With a product I bought was faulty. Samsung repaired it with 3 new parts. But took them out again and tried to return to me. The microwave ( I was out ) with faulty original parts . Their rules are the microwave faulty must be returned to me before a refund !!! Hard to believe but true in my case. I had asked for a refund from the start. When it didn't work first time grinding noise and food cold. Samsung took weeks to decide a refund ( put me off buying again another microwave esp Samsung ) !!! New microwave sounded worse than the one i had !!
