I feel it's absolutely crucial to warn potential customers about a serious safety lapse at AO. It has come to my attention that they are NOT conducting DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks on their drivers.For any company that employs drivers, especially those who might transport vulnerable individuals or access private properties, a DBS check is a fundamental and non-negotiable safety measure. This check is designed to ensure that individuals do not have a history of criminal convictions or cautions that would make them unsuitable for certain roles, particularly those involving public trust or direct contact with the public.The absence of DBS checks at AO is deeply alarming and demonstrates a shocking disregard for customer safety and well-being. It means they are putting their customers at unnecessary risk by not verifying the background of the individuals they employ to drive for them.As a customer, this is completely unacceptable and frankly, negligent. I would strongly advise anyone considering using AO's services to think twice. Until they implement proper DBS checks for all their drivers, I cannot recommend them and urge others to prioritize their safety by choosing a different, more responsible company.Please, AO, address this critical issue immediately. Your customers' safety should be your absolute top priority

I purchased a Samsung Series 8 washing machine from AO on 23 May 2025. Within weeks, our clothes started coming out with a foul smell despite multiple cleaning cycles and correct usage. We later found this is a common issue with Samsung’s auto dispenser system, widely reported online. I contacted AO expecting support. Instead, I was pushed to Samsung, who are now charging me £144 for a call-out, regardless of whether they can fix it or even find a fault. It’s completely non-refundable. AO has done nothing except point me to the manufacturer. No ownership, no real help, just a complete pass-off. If this issue had started three years into ownership, I would understand. But two months in, this is absolutely unacceptable. I’ve been a long-time AO customer, across several accounts and businesses, but after this experience, I will never use them again. They have chosen to protect a single sale instead of standing by a customer.

I ordered a washing machine on Monday and provided additional information that my apartment is on the fourth floor with no elevator. However, on the delivery day, which was Thursday, the delivery team was unaware of this detail and refused to carry the machine up the stairs, citing safety concerns. I spoke to the manager, who apologized and promised that the delivery would be completed the next day, Friday. Unfortunately, the same issue occurred on Friday. The team still didn't know about the fourth-floor situation and refused to deliver the machine. The manager again apologized but offered only another delivery in which i couldn't be sure that they would lift it. The support agent offered a £10 voucher, which feels inadequate considering I've already spent two days waiting and now have to spend another full day at home. They only give a four- to five-hour window for delivery on the day, which makes planning difficult. Overall experience is terrible.

⭐ 1 Star – Madness in the 21st Century – AO Let Me Down Completely I’ve always rated AO highly as a returning 5-star customer, but this experience has completely destroyed my trust in them. I ordered a fridge freezer and was given a delivery window of 7am–7pm, later narrowed down to 4–5pm. I waited in all day. At 3:29pm, the delivery arrived early – during the only 20 minutes I left to collect my daughter. My second daughter was in the front garden, explaining to the driver that I’d be back shortly. Despite this, by 3:36pm he had already left. I returned by 3:39pm and phoned immediately — but the driver, no more than 7 minutes away, refused to turn around. The woman I spoke to at AO customer service was understanding and sympathetic, but she was completely powerless to do anything. I was told the only option was to rebook delivery more than 48 hours later. In 2025, how can a national retailer not allow a driver to return to a house just around the corner? The consequences? I now have no fridge freezer – the old one was disconnected and moved to the front for AO's recycling service. I had a full food delivery arriving at 8pm with nowhere to store anything. My elderly grandparent, who lives with us, has to keep essential medication in the neighbour’s fridge. I have video evidence of the interaction with my daughter and clear timestamps that back all of this up. This isn’t just a delivery mishap – it’s a failure in basic human logic and flexibility. AO have the infrastructure, the van was right there, and I was home in minutes. But because of a rigid, outdated policy, they’ve created an unnecessary crisis for my family. Utter madness. AO – do better.

I Purchased a cooker. They asked £100 for installation so I expected a competent experienced electrician. It was just one simple connection from the wall isolation box. They were able to further isolate the electricity supply using the switch by the fuse box. On delivery and inspection they refused to connect the cooker saying they are very strict about wiring and my older style connections did not meet their very strict requirements. My current cooker was connected a few years ago by another company with no issue. I have a full refund but advise unless you have a modern house A0 is not for you. I certainly will not buy from them again.

I was deeply disappointed by recent comments made by AO CEO in which he used the term “carpet bombing” in a public or professional context. Given the very real and ongoing suffering caused by aerial bombings in conflict zones such as Ukraine and Israel, I found this language highly inappropriate and insensitive. This term is strongly associated with wartime atrocities and mass civilian harm. As someone with friends directly affected by current conflicts, hearing such a phrase used casually—particularly by the leader of a major UK company—was genuinely upsetting and distressing. I believe that corporate leaders, especially those representing well-known consumer brands, should exercise greater awareness and empathy in their public communications. Language matters, and during times of global crisis, compassion and sensitivity should be part of a company’s values. Even more concerning, after raising this issue, my family and I were blocked from using AO’s services and were unable to send further communications. This felt retaliatory and dismissive, and it raises serious questions about how AO responds to legitimate customer feedback and criticism. I expected better from a company of this size and reputation.

£ 600 Damage: AO's delivery driver reversed onto our driveway and struck our Victorian lamppost causing damage. Their driver left the package and fled. I reported it - AO staff immediately offered £ 100 compensation which I declined. Now I am battling with AO - no acceptance or denial of liability, no details of driver, no acceptance or denial from driver - just evasion and a shameful refusal to accept responsibility. AO is not the cheapest supplier but it's certainly the nastiest.

Bought a washing machine end of December it's been vibrating my whole house they finally sent engineer he refused to even look at it just took a video they then stated it's not their problem. it's broken electrical items in my house including my disabled sons computer monitor. The picture fall of the wall because the walls shake violently and it's so loud but apparently that's acceptable. Cost me £500 I explained it's affecting my mental health and begged for help they will not fix or replace AVOID AT ALL COSTS

arranged delivery for specific day, 15 minutes before arrival time had a text saying 'we won't deliver today we will deliver tomorrow'. Not good enough - I understand things happen, but to text 15 minutes before is ridiculous.

I’m extremely disappointed with AO and their so-called installation service. We ordered a dishwasher and paid extra for installation, expecting a hassle-free experience. However, the delivery team that arrived was rude and unprofessional, clearly looking for excuses not to do their job. They had an attitude from the start and immediately started nitpicking, trying to find any obstacle that would prevent them from installing the dishwasher. Their excuse for not installing it was absolutely ridiculous and completely avoidable. Instead of resolving the issue or offering solutions, they left us stranded. My partner ended up installing the dishwasher themselves, which makes me wonder why we even bothered paying for the installation service in the first place. This was a frustrating and disappointing experience, and I will think twice before using AO again or recommending them to anyone.

Absolutely awful experience with AO! I ordered a PC from them, which was supposed to be delivered on the 21st of December. This was meant to be a Christmas present for my parents, and here we are, the 24th of December, and I still don’t have it! I rang AO today, and they told me that DPD hasn’t even given them the tracking details yet, meaning I’ll most likely only receive the PC after New Year’s. Why on earth did the website promise delivery on the 21st if they couldn’t follow through? To make things worse, I asked to cancel the order, but they told me I couldn’t because it’s still “processing.” They said I can refuse the delivery when it eventually arrives, but that’s such a ridiculous and inconvenient solution! This has completely ruined what was supposed to be a thoughtful Christmas surprise. I will never order from AO again, and I’ll make sure none of my family or friends do either. Avoid at all costs!

If I could, I will leave rating as 0. The worst company to deal with, really unfriendly customer service team. Their driver broke the washing machine while brining it in , now I have no machine for another 3 days and there would not offer any compensation for this until the new deliery is complete and I have to call them again if I want any compensation, they would not automatically refund connection/disconnection charge as a good will.

I’m extremely disappointed with AO.com’s handling of their price match policy. This morning, I called to request a price match for a product that was reportedly being price matched for other buyers. However, I was told they had stopped offering the price match for this product, even though it was still showing as in stock on their website, and I could place an order. To make matters worse, after my call, I saw other customers reporting similar refusals—but some were still managing to secure the price match. This inconsistent treatment of customers is completely unacceptable. AO.com should either honor the price match for everyone until stock runs out or stop offering it altogether. Treating customers differently creates frustration and damages trust. This experience has left a sour taste, and I won’t be using AO.com again in the future.

Two engineers came and caused a gas leak, which did not exist before they came. As a result I am now left without hot water and heating, during winter. I have been told that I must pay for the gas engineers to rectify a problem that the AO engineers caused. I have been told empty promises. I really expected better from this company but I do not recommend. They are looking out for themselves, more than the customer. Do not use!

Very difficult return process for damaged items! First you have to email photos. Then you have to call customer service. Having waited 30min to get through, customer service told me that they will send me a form that I need to fill in, then I need to send it to the damage team and they would be in touch with further instructions! I am shocked with this long and convoluted process. While returns for unwanted items can be easily requested online, for damaged items they have this long and difficult process, which puts me off from ever ordering anything again from this web site!

Very bad costumer service, they sent a team that can not install the fridge freezer, though I requested that service and they said they can do it. had to cancel my order after going to the trable of defrosting. I am even a paid member..and this is the service I got .. never buying with them again, and if you want a peace of mind don't use this company. Very disappointed 😔

AVOID AO.COM. I have never dealt with such a bad company. I ordered a washer/dryer to be delivered and installed. Had to take the day off of work. On ordering I made it very clear that the flat was on the first floor and is on a single lane road with yellow lines but a car park is on the opposite side of the road. (10 meters max) on the day the driver called looking for reasons not to deliver. 1st excuse was “can’t leave it in a car park due to other appliances in the van’ 2nd excuse was “we need to be able to see the van at all times” yet this was a busy Sainsbury’s car park with CCTV and 3rd excuse “it’s the delivery person’s discretion if we want to do the delivery” NEVER WOULD I ADVISE ANYONE TO USE A0.COM
