Used Auto Windscreens a couple of years ago to fix a chipped windscreen on our Ford Focus, paying a small excess due to our insurance company policy at the time. Within 2 years the "repair" had deteriorated so badly it looked like the original stone chip all over again. Called our current insurers, who sent out a different (but well-known) car windscreen repair company, who told me they couldn't patch-up the existing repair job as its simply not possible with the technology to do that, but they chap said that all their work is guaranteed for a lifetime so could have the entire windscreen replaced at no extra cost. When I said that it was actually Auto Windscreens that made the original repair job he pretty much told me I was screwed as they dont provide any guarantee what-so-ever of their work. Sure enough, I contacted Auto Windscreen and even though the original repair job was less than a couple of years old they would provide no guarantee of the work and told me that a new windscreen would need to be fitted at my own cost. So my advice to anyone thinking of getting a stone chip repaired is check out exactly what you are paying for first. Look at Auto Windscreen's website, there is no mention of their work being guaranteed and although they may be cheap, if the job goes bad you're on your own. There are plenty of other glass repair companies out there, shop around and make sure you get a guaranteed job (and one that doesn't fall apart within a couple of years). I know which company I will be using in future and it's certainly not Auto Windscreen!

Absolutely horrendous - a technician was supposed to come out to be today to fit a new windscreen as I have a HUGE crack down the middle of it. I got a call at 10am this morning confirming the technician would be here between 1.30 and 3.30. Great, like that. I waited, and waited, and waited. The time got to 5pm and now i'm starting to get a bit cheesed off so i ring customer services who can't get hold of the technician...fabulous. Turns out the technician has been delayed and won't be coming today so I've taken the day off work for nothing and now I'm out of pocket as I didn't pay through my insurance. Don't use this company if you actually want them to turn up on the day/time they say...rubbish. If you have a few weeks to sit in and wait...go ahead.

I wish I could tell you how Auto Windscreens made me happy but I'm afraid I cant . The booked two hour appointment slot passed without any contact from yourself . After contacting you directly the appointment had moved 3 hours forward . But i discovered that the times i was given by email were only estimates and not confirmed times as stated with your email contact to me . And how this fits in with award winning customer service that you advertise on your website is beyond me .I would be grateful if you can explain how this is award winning customer service .

Charged twice for a screen replacement. A screen was then fitted which wasn't compatible with auto wipers despite checking this with the technician on the day as well as when booking the appointment in the first place.

Since my first call almost t weeks ago and making the appointment over 2 weeks ago today you failed to show and do the job. My replacement glass has gone missing. So far I've only had the technician call to say he's not coming I still wait fotmr you to bothered to contact my to let me know what happens next . Really poor your awards mean nothing when you fail so miserably.

It took 2 weeks to get an appointment, then, half an hour before the 2 hour appointment window, received a call (at 14.30) saying the engineer had called in sick. Rebooked for the following Tuesday and the engineer turned up with a new windscreen but no new rubber seal thus the job couldn't be done again. I called the following day after losing several hours pay and complained and tried to rebook another appointment. The new appointment was for 2 weeks time. Looked on their website and all complaints will be responded to within 4 working days. Nothing happened so I called again and escalated the complaint (their words, not mine). New appointment came through between 08.00 and 16.00. Thinking this was too broad a time span, I called and was told that the day before the appointment I would receive another text telling me the 2 hour window in which the engineer would come round. I duly received a text saying that 1 engineer would be here between 08.00 & 10.00, then another text saying a different engineer would be arriving between 08.15 & 10.15. Imagine my surprise when, at 10.20, no one had arrived. Phoned to complain (again) and asked what had happened to my last complaint. There was no record of my previous 2 complaints!! Made another complaint there and then and, during which, was told that the engineers had arrived (by this time I'm on my way to work). The job was done in my absence and I waited for the complaints procedure to run its course. Received a call from a lovely lady and I recounted the whole sorry saga. On their website it states that any appointment cancelled after midnight the day before, a £35+vat fee would apply. I was told by this lady that they have to charge this for having their time wasted. When I asked what recourse I had for claiming my wasted time back, she stated there was none but as a gesture of good will, they would give me a £20 high street voucher (which I doubt they would have paid face value for). I was told that an invoice for £80 was outstanding and it needed paying. I will NOT be paying this!! As they are the only approved company through my insurance, I shall be complaining in the strongest possible terms to 1st Central Insurance, suggesting that they stop using Auto Windscreens and telling them that they can claim the £80 excess from Auto Windscreens. Auto windscreens... Rubbish customer service... DO NOT USE

Had no choice in using these because done through Axa Insurance who are also useless. Waited 4 weeks for thr incorrect windscreen to arrive after receiving a crack in my old one. The fitter ordered the correct one plus two side windscreen trims. Waited a further 3 weeks for correct screen to arrive but no side trims arrived. Glass fitted ok but fitter cracked plastic scuttle panel but denied it. Complained to manager but got nowhere. Absolute apalling service and will never use again. Would insure through someone who used national windscreens. Do not use these repairers.

I've had a terrible experience with Autowind Screens. Waited 4 days to even get an appointment yet I'm told I'm on the priority list. Rang time and time again and was told 'Some one from your local shop will contact you' each time and that would never happen. What's the point in paying insurance if you don't get what you're paying for when you want it? A lady I spoke to today (Leonie, I think) has been the only one to be helpful and try and contact my local shop for me and get some sort of appointment arranged. I've not been able to go to work once this week with out my car and it has been a huge inconvenience. Absolutely appalled at the service I have received, you're probably better off getting your window fixed elsewhere.

Waited nearly a month for my appointment to replace a cracked windscreen, he eventually arrived an hour after the latest time he said he would be there. After setting up discovered the new screen was scratched and promised to come back following day with a new screen. Received phone call to say new screen was also scratched and that a new appointment would have to be made. Goodness knows when?

Rear window of my son's van was smashed on a Wednesday. This is the company our insurers use so we had no choice in the matter. The van is used for work and it could not be used with a broken window as tools need to be carried. I spent nearly 3 days with a phone attached to my head trying to get a repair arranged. Finally got an appointment arranged on the Saturday for the following Tuesday. A total of 6 working days lost. A complaint was raised and the magnificent sum of £20 was offered in compensation.

absolutely bad service didn't replace my windscreen properly when it is raining the water is coming inside my interior and destroying everything called about 5 times they say the same over again not satisfied with the service.need to do something or going to take this matter further

5 months after a completey disastrous service with no shows and 4 attempts to fit my windscreen without a rattle ( still rattling) my windscreen rim is been held on by black tape until fixed.....do not use this company ....use auto glass..

Booked for a replacement windscreen 4th May 2016 and told that it would be 31st May at the earliest. They told me that i would receive a text the day before from 2:30pm and a phone call on the day, when they are on their way to me. I had neither of these. The guy came inspected my car as usual. And it was only until he took the new pane of glass out of his van to tell me that they had ordered the wrong pane of glass for my car. He then suggested to re book an appointment as he couldn't do anything and it wasn't his fault. I felt disgusted by how the guy wasn't going to and resolve this themselves and his attitude wasn't great either. After a settled debate he packed up and left. I got straight on the phone to their call centre and told them what happened that i wasn't happy. All they could do is apologise (which to me isn't good enough). They re booked for the 20th june but i requested to have first refusal if a cancellation came up. They phoned me the next day to say they could do the job for the 9th, which i accepted, but i didn't want the same guy who came because the lack of good customer service. Well today is 9th June. I had not received a text to estimate when the job was being done. I phoned the call centre once again to establish what time the work will be carried out. The woman said it would be between 2-4pm and that i would have a phone call when they are on their way. Only at 4.03pm did the same guy turn up but didn't get of the van for a further 5 minutes. He knocked on and had a stupid grin on his face. Asked for my keys and told me that the job lot would be done in 45 minutes. During the work being carried out, the guy was on the phone several times, some of those calls were personal as i overheard. The job didn't get finished until 5.15pm . I wasn't happy and thought the guy was cocky. I will not be using this service and will not recommend to anyone either. Very poor service and will complaining to head office about this issue.

Absolutely shocking service, wouldn't use this company at all , only useing through insurance cover , let me down 4 times now by not turning up , two days off work , sat around all day and never got in touch with me to tell me they wasn't coming, put a complaint in and told me that it would definitely be completed on the scheduled date , never turned up , what a shower ,still waiting for some kind of service from them after nearly two months and still not got my work done yet , would give them no stars if I could.

This is the most ridiculous company i've ever had to deal with, customer service is disgraceful and timings are even worse. I would never use this company in a million years if it wasn't for my insurance company. I had a serious leak in my car after they had changed the windscreen, water was pouring in all over my carpet. They refused to take responsibility even though I never had any problems before they touched my car, it turned out they hadn't put the seals back on properly and there was a clear hole for water to come through. I would not recommend anyone to use this company.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Hastings direct referred me to this company as my rear windscreen was smashed. I made the claim at 8:30pm and was told I would receive a call at 9am following day to book an appointment. Nobody called me. At 1pm I called and after being on hold for 30mins I was told they can't book me in for at least 4 days! I requested a refund immediately. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Paid Excess, £75, as Lloyds Car Insurance auto forwards calls to them, but you DO NOT have to use them. They said someone would call me to make an appointment. 5 days went past before they bothered to call, too late, already got Lloyds to instruct Auto Glass to do the job, had to pay £75 excess to Auto Glass and can not get Auto Windscreen to refund. You do nothing but HOLD HOLD HOLD HOLD for their phones. Looks like they cannot cope, so don't use, ask your insurance company if you can go elsewhere. Checkout Auto Windscreen facebook feedback, full of complaints!!!
