“Rated a 4, but the selection can be hit or miss. They have some really good selection at times, but it is not consistent. Also, they seem to have a lot of IPAs that are well past their prime and it's always disappointing to receive those after paying some fairly high shipping costs. IPAs older than 5-6 months should be discounted.”

“Selection of beers excellent. My only gripe is slowish delivery in view of high delivery charge. Delivery charge is £6.95. This is on the high side by comparison with other online companies, so it is reasonable to expect quick delivery. My order actually took four days to arrive - not overlong, but for £6.95 would expect quicker than this.”

“Good for Belgian beers, and quick delivery etc., but website is annoying because it shows you a picture of every bottle, and as we have pretty poor broad band this takes ages. A written list would do for me, and be much quicker. Also its great that you can recall your previous order to re-order, but not very good when the site just says 'out of stock' without telling you which beer is out of stock - in fact so frustrating that I have given up trying to re-order, which is a shame.”

“Great website, easy to use and liked the recommendations / comparisons so I could buy new stuff knowing it would be enjoyed. Quick delivery, packed well. Apparently all tasted great so can't fault. If I was being picky I'd ask, especially near Christmas, for the option to remove the 'beer merchants' writing all over the box - kind of gives away what the gift is, before it's been opened.”

“It was a shame our order was wrong - two beers incorrect and then when you sent the 'correct' beers, one of those was wrong! Otherwise happy with speed of initial delivery.”

“Hi there! I'd like to thank Beer Merchants for their speedy delivery service. You did however, forget to pack one bottle on the order. That wasn't a problem, as you managed to deliver the missing beer the NEXT day! The only downside was receiving the x1 bottle in a huge x12 bottle cardboard box...seemed a bit wasteful?! Thanks again though - will be ordering more in the future! X”

“I was looking for some beers. I planned to take them to a New Year's weekend away at a mates in the country. I ordered more of the beers that my Bloke likes and a few of the beers that I like because I don't drink as much as him - at all. They all arrived in the same box like I wanted them to. It meant that we didn't have to sort packaging for the long journey for our beers in the back of the car. The giveaway was that it said Beer Merchants on the side of the box so the neighbours thought I was a lush, and it was not a surprise for my Bloke as he took delivery but hey. It's not the fault of Beer Merchants that our mates' flat down the road caught on fire on Christmas day which meant that we had unexpected overnight guests in shock and we all know that Blokes like beer for shock once they've had the mandatory sweet tea, because we're British and that's what we do in a crisis. So the crate with Beer Merchants on the side was opened before our New Year's weekend away trip with a ready packed supply of a variety of favourite beers from our local London micro-breweries that I had ordered on a whim and whilst I am very pleased with my purchase and the service, I am much less pleased with my Bloke as he promised to re-order and replenish the stores!”

“Pleased with the product, arrived in good time, the 2 glasses arrived in 1 piece which was quite an achievement considering that they were not packaged very securely and were able to move around in the very large box with only a "fragile" sticker protecting them from being broken in transit! The poor packaging is my only negative comment, should consider making it more secure and using boxes that are appropriate for the goods,”

“The pack I wanted was just what I was looking for in terms of beer selection but wasn't in stock when I first looked. I noticed it had come back into stock a few days later and tried to order but I got a message saying there was still one bottle that was missing in stock. The third time I tried it actually went through and bought 2 packs as gifts for 2 people for Christmas. When they arrived they were all in one big box which will make it tricky to package for the two people. It would've been nice to have an option for separate boxes to be included, even if it was an extra £1 or something. Otherwise, good points were price and having the selection of beers I wanted.”
