I live in Canada. Over 20 years ago, I bought my first Nikon 600mm large format lens from B&H. They had a wide variety of products, reasonable prices, and fast shipping. To this day, B&H remains my go-to place for digital photography equipment, as well as traditional film, photographic paper, and pharmaceuticals.

I’m based in Indonesia, and since B&H does not ship directly to my country, I followed guidance from GPT to use a U.S. package forwarder. I first used a California-based forwarder, but during checkout the sales tax was quite high. Based on further GPT guidance, I then tried a second forwarder with a New Hampshire address where sales tax is lower. During this process of changing forwarding addresses and checkout attempts, B&H’s security system temporarily blocked my access. The situation was confusing but understandable given the security protections. Overall, B&H has excellent products and pricing, but international customers using freight forwarders should be prepared for extra steps and possible security checks.

Thank you B&H and Customer Support Team for leaving me with no money, order and solution. I'm not a US citizen, however I have never had a similar experience of not giving a dime about your customers. I use a Freight Forwarder company (for those who don't know: There are warehouses that collect the orders from all around the US to be shipped in Europe) which I have experience with for the past 6 years and they never failed me once. After spending $230 on a motherboard (Tuesday), I received an email the next day (Wednesday) from B&H saying it has been delivered. For Freight Forwarders it takes 1-2 days to scan it and mark it as "Received" in their system, however it didn't happen this time. On Thursday I noticed that it was delivered to NEW CASTLE, DE on FEDEX (their carrier). Which is not the address I placed. I sent them an email with a complaint. I decided to reach my Freight Forwarder on Friday to verify the status. To my news the order was not received. After that I replied to B&H seeking a solution, to which they said: "We don't claim any orders placed to Freight Forwarder addresses". My delivery address was: NEWARK, DE The order arrived: NEW CASTLE, DE I pointed it out to the B&H that delivery by GPS, Coordinates and detailed tracking on FEDEX was to a wrong location and Proof Of Delivery was Empty on FEDEX website. To which they say: "It's not something we can help with". So even if you have any VALID proofs they won't help you. There is absolutely NO MENTION in their shipping policy that they can't claim or assist with stolen packages in case your address is Freight Forwarder. So whoever sees that and knows that can abuse it, which means steal your package with no consequences. Only when your shipment happens to be stolen can you understand that there is no help or coverage to be offered. Conclusion: Using Freight Forwarders WILL harm you, since nobody cares and helps recovering stolen packages. NO WARNINGS informing that no claims or assistance is offered for those who use Freight Forwarders. Most probably you will see a reply from B&H to this review, however until they resolve it I won't reply here which means that nothing changed. BE AWARE.
