Booked a collection for a specific date for two large double wardrobes and three charity bags. The date was accepted by BHF within a few days, and on the morning of the collection I received a text along with tracking details for the van driver Galin. I had had to dismantle the wardrobes slightly (separate top and bottom parts) due to the weight, and kept the screws and allen keys in a ziploc bag. One of the wardrobes was missing a handle, which BHF had stated was fine. The driver and his colleague arrived promptly at 8.40am. We'd forgotten to screw the top of a wardrobe back on, but they weren't concerned when I showed them the ziploc bags, and took the wardrobes without any issues. Pleased with the service, everything went smoothly and as hoped for!

Just had Jack & Matt collect some donated furniture from me for the Walsall store. They were brilliant! Friendly, incredibly professional, super quick & made me feel valued as a 'customer'. Will absolutely use this service again & was really impressed with my experience.

Two very rude staff . I wanted some items but they were clearly damaged and sharp. She was still willing to sell to me at full price. She lost out on a few sales

Arrangement made for a PU leather 2 seater sofa to be collected today. I made sure the sofa was to hand with easy access for the driver to pick up. They called when my husband was at home , having not had the advised 30minute telephone call prior to pick up. They picked it up but within minutes returned and dumped it unceremoniously on the drive and drove away quickly. No explanation why and extremely embarrassing for me . BHF obviously only want the absolute top of the range donations so anyone thinking of donating furniture to them, DON'T !!!!!

Tried to donate several items. Driver said that my furniture don't have fire labels. After that he asked my ethnicity and several times asked if I know rules of this country. I was lucky that he didn't measure the shape of my skull to judge me. Rude and disrespectful.

Tried to donate my few year old no longer needed £2000 mattress, but the guys that turned up went over the surface like it was a forensic investigation in an episode of Bones, found a small patch of dirt and refused to take it. I told them I'd washed the cover before they came and it was likely to get more dirty from handling or them throwing it in the van without any protection but it all fell on deaf ears. So all in all a lose lose situation and I'll put it on Ebay instead.

Tried to charge £25 delivery for an exercise bike! I don't drive, but we live literally 3 minutes away driving. Same postcode. Greedy "charity ".

I would thank Danny & Andy for calling in as I would have liked to donate my 3 piece suite, they were very polite but said it was to worn to sell in the showroom. I hope to donate more things in the future. Thank you once again . Caroline

I used to volunteer at the Deal branch. Was okay to a point, but some staff were cliquey, self-righteous, narcissistic and would gossip about others. For example, when I first arrived at the shop I heard they were doing a charity fashion show, then they automatically gave me a job I did not want which was collecting donations (I'm so glad I refused the task). I felt as though some staff and volunteers were spreading rumours about me (of a rather innapropriate nature). I felt as though I was judged when I've done a lot in my life. There were also lovely volunteers who felt ostracised and as though they were being watched constantly.

Absolutely rip off in there now. Prices are getting out of hand. It’s supposed to be a charity shop. Some items are cheaper No a normal retail shop brand new

Arrived on time, came in looked at furniture, leather 2 seater 3 seater, at a fast pace did not speak English to each other (rude in someone’s house ) said would not take it had creases? Yes it’s leather.Left in a flash ,appeared they could not be bothered a waste of time.Should have read other reviews first.

Having read a BHF leaflet saying they offered free collection of furniture, I phoned them to donate the quality furniture from my late mother in law's property. I was advised they would take an inventory and advise me how much they would charge me to collect the items. I was absolutely disgusted by their attitude. I was offering them FOC furniture which later sold at a price in excess of £4000, yet they expected me to not only donate the goods FOC but also pay for them to collect it. They need to re-word their advertising leaflets. As a charity they have lost touch with reality and now spend thousands on advertising for cash donations, yet make donating furniture difficult. Clearly they were not interested in over £4000 of furniture. Shame on BHF.

For a charity they seem to like wasting a lot of time booking deliveries and then have men turn up to refuse to take stuff. The reason? Worried about scratching the walls when moving the wardrobe.... yet they knew they were collecting a wardrobe of that size and where it needed to be collected from. This was the second time this happened. The first time was because a wooden desk had a scratch on it so couldn't be sold... Must be lovely to be a charity with unlimited resources to waste on delivery men coming out for no reason!

I booked a collection. Waited in all day, nobody arrived. Phoned the office and was told that the item (a disability chair in excellent condition) would be collected the following day. Again nobody arrived. Phoned the office and was told that the driver said he could not park because of double white lines in the middle of the road. A lie. I suspect he couldn’t be bothered because he knew this was a heavy item. As it happens I had arranged extra help. Massive inconvenience all round. No apology just told it was the driver’s discretion to stop.

York collection service, non collection of quality furniture. Had to wait about 3 weeks for a collection slot, then missed it through bad organisation and poor communication. I phoned the York office the night before to see if anyone could give me a clue to the time of the collection, but no one could tell me anything. I'd stated in my booking that the house was unoccupied and that I would need prior notification. The driver phoned me about 8.15am on the collection date, I missed the call, the driver withheld his number and left no message, I could have called them straight back if I had their number. I phoned the York office to discover that I had missed the slot and that the driver refused to return later in the day. I can't afford to wait another 3 weeks, most disappointed with the poor organisation, poor communication and lack of flexibility. Won't use again.

Extremely disappointing experience. Van crew had an off-hand attitude which was almost guaranteed to inflame. I was attempting to donate 2 identical settees and a chair. Because of an obvious clerical error in the manifest which omitted to say there were 2 of them they flatly refused to take the second settee. To make things worse they refused point blank to call anyone to try to resolve the issue. It was like talking to a pair of robots. The second issue was that I tried to donate a (brand new) kitchen cabinet. They refused to take this because it was a wall mounted unit. They then enter into a load of technobabble about the difference between a cupboard and a cabinet. I also blame the person at BHF that dealt with this collection. They sent me no communication confirming what I was donating. The error in the number of settees could have been resolved prior to collection. In 9 issue of what constitutes a cupboard could have been resolved. Due to lack of space as these items were occupying my only parking place, I have had to destroy both of them to take them to the tip as they are too big to go in my car if intact. I will not be doing anything for BHF in future.

Awful. Driver just arrived without making contact 30 minutes prior to arrival, despite having had a text yesterday saying contact would be made. When I asked why he hadn’t made contact, he just said “we don’t bother”. Then proceeded to reject an item that was 100% as described and on the agreed list of items you collect (a glass tv stand). It was in mint condition and an expensive model. My view is he couldn’t be bothered as it was quite heavy. He then said he would “do us a favour” and take our other smaller glass tv stand even though they don’t sell well. Again, this item was on your list. To suggest BHF are doing us a favour taking our donated (FREE) items is frankly outrageous and insulting. Really, really poor.

DO NOT DONATE ITEMS OR MONEY TO THIS FOUNDATION. Why do you allow people to donate items and have a checklist on your website if your drivers will not take them? Everything that was being donated was on your checklist and in saleable condition. Your drivers went around picking and choosing what they wanted to take. You have made a death of a family member even more stressful by leaving the family last minute now to figure out how to handle these boxed items. DISGUSTING
