We had a nearly new leather sofa we wanted to donate. Rang and arranged a date. Delivery guy rang 15 miniures beforehand to say they were in the way. So, we lifted it outside to make it easier for themselves and make sure they didn’t damage our house on removing. The guys arrived and refused to take because it was outside. It was a summers day and was in perfect condition with fire label and everything needed for resale. Contacted someone else for them to take. You’ve lost out Britsh heart foundation. I won’t be attempting to donate to yourselves and I’ll be donating to others in the future.

I wouldn't waste your day waiting on a collection time with promise of half hours notice phone call as was prearranged last week. 8 hours I wasted today hanging around for this.Had good quality items to be collected. Rang bhf twice today ,firstly to check if we were on list for collection today then as time ticking by to check if still would be collected, assured both times yes. Their loss

I will not be donating to the charity again. The collection guys arrived complained that our antique chest of drawers x2 didn’t have keys and that they can’t accept painted items anymore because of the Grenfell Tower fire🤷‍♀️. Left with Ikea items. They need to get over themselves!

I recently arranged a donation pickup of a TV and desk. While I appreciate the collection service, a 10-minute call ahead is not enough, as I was unavailable during lunch time and not able to sit home all day for a charitable donation service. In the past, I've felt pressured to be at home for pickups with minimal notice. Clearer communication regarding collection windows would be beneficial for both donors and collection teams.

Ridiculously picky and refused a great sofa because it was straight and not corner lol remind me not to donate to charity in the future.

Easy online booking system, followed up by phone call and collection slot. I had 9 items for collection and was advised on the phone by a very helpful operative to dismantle any heavy furniture (solid wood bed and matching double wardrobe). The arrived on time but wouldn't take the wardrobe because "it's been dismantled". Told them BHF had advised me to do that but they stood their ground - they took the bed though. Also, wouldn't take the washing machine (hardly used) or office chair even though it had a fire retardant label. I rang BHF after they'd left and was told the drivers hadn't got room in the van for the remaining items! What a load of baloney! Also, a while ago, I visited the shop and asked if they'd like some speaker stands (Atacama) and was told "no" because the speakers were not included. Volunteers need more training......

Drove for hours to meet collection service, left home at 7am, got a phone call at about 11am saying they had van problems and couldn’t collect. Won’t bother again, their loss, it has all gone to another charity, and now found out they test on animals. Really glad we did not give them our valuable and saleable items, shame on you BHF

Save yourself time by not bothering to read the other reviews, they are all negative. They all agree that the guys that collect are excessively fussy, possibly because they don’t want to carry anything heavy, but refuse to take all but the best items. Don’t get caught out expecting all your donated items to be taken, it is highly likely that you will be left with items that you were expecting to give to charity. Think twice before donating to this so called charity.

Money-grubbin timewasting nesbits in the Woolwich Branch in Hare Street SE18. 3 times they sent someone to collect a wardrobe and other bric-a-brac and 3 times the same clueless individual was caught on camera making no effort to knock or ring the doorbell, even when the door was ajar and they knew someone was in! They over inflate the price of the items and wonder why they find it difficult to sell. The store is dusty and unclean despite the amount of staff/volunteers. Manager is petty & arrogant. He/she spitefully cancelled collection of the items, which was no problem as we contacted another Charity "Emmaus" who promptly collected the items a few days later, with exception of the wardrobe as It was sold privately on Gumtree for £150. We will continue to donate to them in future and advise others to do likewise!

Arranged a collection for some items to be collected, as it was more than seven I was told I’d need to make a second booking! So they pay the drivers twice? What a waste of money!!!!! They didn’t even call before hand as I was told they would, they never arrived. I will be avoiding this so called charity from now on. A different charity will benefit from me from now on, I would not even recommend these to anyone looking for furniture.

Went through online and call back process ...collection advised evg before for 7am. I opened yard gates they arrived on time. I had an antique French dresser a 5 drawer pine chest and an office desk. Within seconds "can't take that to all items. They have to be in showroom condition were a shop!" Me: "Love if they were brand new i'd be selling not donating!" The dresser is antique so it's got a patina...the drawers were fine solid apart from a few age related scuffs....the desk similar. Gave me a receipt took photo Left me 2 mins later!! Will never donate money or items to bhf again would rather give away on fb marketplace. Unbelievable off hand dismissive attitude for a bundle of items that could've made from 50 to 200 pounds and be recycled rather than dumped. Not happy I spend a day emptying and cleaning items, a ridiculously early morning and inconvenience.

Because we are going into your store intending buying an item but they only want to deliver it as flat pack no matter if it is relatively small when I asked why I cannot get it delivered as seen as we are pensioners and would not be able to put it together they then said that they would build it for another £40 so the item that I was interested in costs £139 delivery charges £38 and then they want another £40 absolutely disgusted anyone thinking about donating to this profiteering so called charity should absolutely think again

They refused to take our two armchairs because the covers did not have a fire retardant label, even though there are labels on the actual chairs. They also complained that one chair was faded. They do not deserve our goods and chattels.

AVOID DONATING TO BHF!! An EXTREMELY RUDE Female Member of Staff at Wimbledon Town Branch who was on duty on Friday 14th June, 24. I think she is of Eastern European ethnicity. In her 30s and has 'blonde' hair. I have never experienced such 'in your face' rudeness from a Staff Member as I did with 'this female'. She needs to attend a Customer Service Course or remain upstairs in the Stock Room so that no other Member of the Public experiences her blatent rudeness. I would like to think someone from BHF Head Office will contact me about the experience I had with a Member of their Staff. However, I don't think they will. I went to this Store to donate some items because my elderly Mother was diagnosed with Heart Disease which there was no cure or treatment for. I felt my donated goods would add funds to the BHF Research Department. NEVER AGAIN will I consider donating to BHF because of this Member of Staff!! Infact, I asked for my donated goods to be returned .. they were, and I 'walked'! A Cancer Charity Shop will receive my unwanted items.

Picked through your stuff and only bothered to take the really good stuff. Left me in a tight pickle on moving day. Wont bother donating again. Poor show.

First off I was told that my bed bed would be collected in a weeks time. No message and no pick up. Then they promised to pick it up two weeks later. They then told me they would call me half an hour before to let me know they were on their way. Of course they didn’t. And then because of some very, very slight marks on my mattress l, which was almost new and perfectly acceptable, they refused to take it. The drivers in question were rude and clearly didn’t care. Never again will I donate to the British Heart Foundation. You would’ve thought with all these bad reviews someone in head office will take notice?
