Arrived at the shop to donate at the advertised opening time. They were closed by a grill across the door. The woman in the shop said we are closed comeback in 30 mins. When I said I don't want to come in and i asked if she could just take the parcel I was carrying she just refused and told me to come back in 30 mins. The result is as a registered donor of 25 years I will not make any further donations of money or goods. So rude.

A perfect double size mattress is going to waste, because their driver did not want to carry it (with my help) to a 2 minute distance. I bet the even had a trolley too. They don't give a damn about charity. Wasting our time to wait for them for almost a week.

Just wanted to comment on a past issue - good quality leather sofa to donate, when guy came he said it wasn't good enough but as I was having new one delivered an hour later he offered to 'help' by taking it away for £20 - was obviously going to sell it on but I hadn't time to do anything else so paid him.

I wanted to donate a beautiful cabinet, a small dressing table and some new books to them and they later got back to me saying that they can’t pick it up cause it wouldn’t cover the cost of their third party van. Will never donate to them again. When did charities get so picky?

After donating a lovely Italian leather 3 piece suite I had a very nice brown suede bed head to donate, I was asked by the manageress of Scunthorpe branch why I could not put it in my car and bring it myself. I explained it was too large to fit in my car and that it was a floor standing item which cost a lot of money when purchased. I was told that it was not financially viable to collect it despite me living only a couple of streets away from the shop. I was disgusted at the attitude of the manageress and will not be donating any future items to the Heart Foundation.

I offered to donate 2x leather sofas but when delivery men arrived were very rude about furniture. Said leather was poor quality and worn in places and 1 had a leather patch. These sofas are in good condition and they are second hand . They're a charity for gods sake, I'm not selling them I'm donating. Never ever will I donate to BHF ever again.

I arranged to have a nice glass round table with 4 chairs donated as part of my move. All in very good used condition. I specified it was a small table and not only was the driver extremely rude (telling me I had to be home "or else"), he refused to take the table on the basis it needed to be dissembled. 1. If I am donating to charity, it is up to the driver to dissemble to fit in his van, not me. 2. I had briefed on my call to the BHF that it was a small table, the driver should have planned accordingly. 3. Under no circumstance will I tolerate rudeness when I am taking time out of my busy day to donate, especially in the middle of a move! Unbelievable. Get your sh*t together, BHF. Will not attempt to donate again.

Firstly your ‘men’ I use the word generously, informed me they could not take my virtually new double electric bed unless I gave the mattress with it so I said fine. They then told me they couldn’t take it. When I asked why they said ‘it’s too heavy’. I’d just lost my husband and was having a new bed delivered the next day. I was so upset. My neighbour enlisted another neighbour and together they put the bed in the carport and the mattress. It took about 5 minutes. I don’t know if your drivers do paid work but I wouldn’t employ them to do menial tasks! I’ve donated such a lot of good furniture to the BHF but in my hour of need they weren’t there for me. I will never donate again. Apparently my neighbours had the same experience. They gave me a number to ring and the bed was fetched within the hour by extremely caring people. Get on with it BHF. I won’t be helping. !

I gave a double bed and 3 mirrored wardrobes before Xmas and actually helped the guy down 3 flights of stairs because his colleague felt unwell no probs ,I made a request for a pick up last week 2 large large mirrors worth a lot of money , I got a phone call and when I told him I couldn’t deliver them to Patrick shop I was told we don’t want them , he was very abrupt and hung up before I could say anything , I felt insulted and won’t donate one more to them , He was a disgrace to be honest

Failed to ring 30 minutes before arriving as promised and then refused a perfectly good bed because we had not dismantled the frame. If they had told us beforehand that we should do this we would have done so. Will.donate elsewhere in future.

Excellent service today from BHS Bolton. Kept me up to date on collection times. When they arrived they removed quite a large amount of furniture carefully and quickly without any damage. I will definitely use them again.

Good quality furniture with fire safety certs. Brand new electrical items including TV's with manuals. Disrespectful approach to assessing content of house. Want £600 from us to do the clearance. Was one of our preferred charities but won't be donating anymore.

Hi, sorry to say this but I tried donating 8 bags of nice quality clothes and electrical items for home collection. Total waste of time as I was told its not worth their while to collect. Very misleading as I wasn't told this when I made my online booking. Very rude!

First day they did not come, did not bother to call or ring the bell. Second day they came, were very rude and aggressive , saying they will not do the job. Refused to take a good mattress because it could not be sold. Fair enough. Would possible been better to know this before. Maybe a video call since we called to arrange this anyway ? Forgot part of the other thing I was donating in the elevator.... I'd say very bed experience, it stressed me out. One of the guys who came to collect was terribly rude.
