“Awful just awful.. So disappointed. I ordered two pairs and had to return them the next day as they were fitting rather big for me. I actually ended up buying the same but one size smaller in a store in Barcelona. The return has been processed since May 2024, we are now in July, and I still have not received the money. I've called and spoken to their customer care 3 times, exchanged emails, and it seems they have delays with their chosen intermediary for return. I have sent them my proof of return with the intermediary they recommended (Correos) and have explained that my responsibility ends there, and I should be reimbursed as per policy in reasonable time. I am down 215 Euros. I do not recommend them at all!”
“Purchased these sandals at least twice before, never had any issues with them. My girlfriend loved them. These pair cracked on top of sandal within a few weeks of wearing them. Reached out to Birkenstock and was told it was her fault, she is walking around in them incorrectly and that’s why they are cracking. That does make any sense and has never happened with the previous 2 pair. I’m so glad Birkenstock supports their products. Not happy at all!!”

“Worst customer service ever. My Birkenstocks wore out after 3-4 years, so I tried to order the same model and color. I received the wrong color (lighter brown) twice. I returned the first pair and complained, but when I ordered again, they sent me the wrong color once more. I contacted customer service, but they were unhelpful. They kept responding with the wrong colors, and when I sent them the links to the correct and incorrect items, they just replied, "Here is the link, and for technical reasons, we can’t take orders by phone or mail." Despite using the correct link, I received the wrong color both times. Do not rely on Birkenstock customer service—they can't differentiate the colors of their products and won't help resolve issues.”
“I have had several pairs of Birkenstocks and have always had great success with them, usually lasting for 3+ years. This pair that I purchased a year ago is already broken and needs to be thrown out. When I brought this to their attention they offered me $10 off on a new pair. This is ridiculous I spend 100 dollars on a pair of the shoes and they will pay for my shipping as a fix? These used to be one of my favorite brands but now I don’t see it being worth the money. “It's about their website. They give out 15% code for first order upon account registration. But you have to wait 24-48 hrs for the simple coupon code to generate and being sent to your inbox. It's either too clever, or they are just too busy to fix this. Why would anyone wait to make their first order for 24-48 hours? How effective will be the conversion rate with this wait time? Are there even ecommerce product owners there to understand this is bad for the website sales?”
“The item I ordered (sandals) was faulty (poorly glued together). I requested a discount/partial refund and was not given one. They offered me only to return the item and get a full refund. Customer service was rude.”

On August 15, 2022 I purchased Andermatt Shearling boots. They lay in my closet for a long time, about six months ago I started wearing them. I was just walking along the city asphalt. Recently I got caught in the rain and got my feet very wet. When I looked at the sole, it was full of holes! This is already my second pair from this brand that end up with holes. My first boots of the same model wore out quickly in the same way. I replaced the soles, but they were too heavy for them, the shoes were no longer comfortable to wear, and I had to throw them away.
These shoes so short-lived even though I paid 125 euros for them! I will not buy anything from Birkenstock again.
When I bought them, I hoped to wear it for several years, but Birkenstock is simply mocking me by selling substandard goods.”
