“When playing the videos, the background music is too loud and distracting from the content. When completing the module quizzes, I would much prefer to know which questions I got wrong in order to educate myself with the proper knowledge.”

“The course was informative, although long. It would be nice to be able to review the module quiz results to see the questions that were answered wrong as to not make the same mistakes in the final. Also the videos were very helpful.”

“Overall very comprehensive and well done. A couple of minor improvement suggestions 1) the description of bifurcation markers at slide 7, module 6 is confusing or possibly in error. A bifurcation marker with green on top means preferred channel should be kept on port side, or turn to the right. 2) the section on carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning confuses CO with CO2 which are different substances”

“Other then being long lol was good course. Would be nice to review finished test to see what questions u got wrong so u can go back and read up on what the right answer was.”

Hi Jon - thanks for the feedback. Since there are a finite number of test questions and the test is open book and unsupervised - Transport Canada and NASBLA regulate that the answers not be shown. This is one of the check and balances put into place to maintain the integrity of online testing. Glad you enjoyed the course and thanks for sticking with it!

“Lesson modules are clear and concise. Videos are included with most lessons. I am not allowed to include comments regarding mandatory timed lessons or inability to show incorrect quiz answers but if I were I would say these two points are poor but out of the control of the boatsmart course providers.”

“It took so long and would not let me skip lessons until they were done so it ended up taking around 5.5 hours to complete”

“I’m only 13 and I took it with a friend.. it’s fairly long and it took uss a whol day with out doing to exam.. we are both straight A students.. so if you plan to do it I would suggest doing it on a day you don’t feel like doing anything and are ready to stare at a screen for 6 hours.. and DO IT with a FRIEND!”

“I like the video's, and that each segment is short. Overall a very long course but informative. I can read the content faster than the time given so then had to wait til I could press next.”

“good course, but should give the student some reference to what question you/ they get incorrect, so as to allow a person to review the area they got answered wrong. I received 95 % but not sure which answers were wrong.”
