“BOATsmart is a great program that allowed me to get my boating license for Canada in just a few hours! My suggestion is that if you have a cottage or live near a lake, BOATsmart is where you should get your boating license.”

“Even though i have a lot of experience in boating and took a mini boaters course through the power sqadran when i was 12 , i benefitted greatly by taking the boat smart course.i had much more condidence out on the lake. There were many things i had forgotten oe neededcto brush up on to be safe. I liked how it was broken down into modules. I recommend this course to everyone that will be spending time on a boat.”

“I throughly enjoyed the experience of taking your course. earlier I had purchased a hard copy from Can Tire. Over the months of August and September I had the opportunity to learn in a 19' boat. As a retired educator it came as a surprise that your policy is such that customers are not allowed to know their errors. Much learning and re-learning is derived from knowing your mistakes. “the help i received to download my temporary card was good. some of the questions on the quiz are misleading, for example changing names of the ends of the rope attached to the boat and anchor. the questions should acknowledge the correct terms with accurate recall, not confuse with incorrect similar information. the recall of information by the person being tested should be encouraged not negatively reinforced. the test answers should reflect what is known , not seek to confuse.”

“The course was a little too detailed for the boating that we do, fishing and pleasure boating on the lakes in Manitoba, but I still gained some confidence and more understanding of things I should know. Thanks!”

Hi Jordan - Thanks for taking the time to provide a review. At this time, we are unable to change the length of the course as the 3-hour timer is required in Canada by Transport Canada, and required in the U.S. by NASBLA. We understand this may be frustrating for students, however, please understand that the 3-hour timer ensures that all students are able to fully understand all of the course content. Every course provider must meet this requirement and in order to be able to take the course online, from the comfort of home, students must spend 3 hours in the course. Thanks for hanging in there - your 3 hours of studying will get you a lifetime of safe boating fun!

“Excellent Program! The video courses didn't always come up right away. Sometimes the video played but there was no audio. It was easy enough to re-watch a section, but for the most part, the narrator was reading words already on the screen. We were able to just follow along in most cases. The narrator seemed very slow at times, and we often found ourselves wishing they were speaking a little faster, and in a more normal tone. The information was fantastic, and laid out perfectly. There are a lot of different sections, but we were glad for that. Make is much easier to take breaks.”
