Course content was great and allowed me to pass the final test on my first attempt.

The only thing I think I would change about the whole experience is that I would allow the student to see their mistakes and understand which questions they answered incorrectly. The purpose of this process is to ensure people know the rules of boating however if they do not know where they went wrong they could start boating with incorrect info.

This is an excellent course for all ages. The kids were able to work at your own pace with practice questions after each segment. After completing the course both my kids found the test quite easy. They were able to refer back to the information if unsure of the wording on a test question. Great preparation method for safe boating skills. Customer service is excellent.

A few hours on-line for a lifetime on the water is a small price. Very fast and convenient, thank you

TOO LONG! There are 30-40 lessons per module! The information was often repetitive and not applicable to most boaters, unless you are on the ocean.

The timer for each course/module is far to long. Lose the timer, it is extremely excessive. Other than that its a decent course

Hi Melanie - thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We definitely understand that the course timers can be frustrating, but they are mandated by Transport Canada and NASBLA because the testing is online and unsupervised. The course timers are a requirement for all course providers. Glad you stuck with it and safe boating!

I purchased the Boat smart guild which everyone should buy, it's a good book to have on board for quick reference. I think it should be mandatory to have the book on board. Everyone should take the course that's thinking of boating, my wife did, so we will have two people on board that have done the 7 modules and the test and passed. Any communications with your establishment was top notch! Safety is number one!! Thank you! R. Hamilton

Hi Jill - thanks for the feedback. Since there are a finite number of test questions and the test is open book and unsupervised - Transport Canada and NASBLA regulate that the answers not be shown. This is one of the check and balances put into place to maintain the integrity of online testing. As boaters too, we understand the feedback and are working with regulators to try and improve the process within the confines of online testing. Thanks for sticking with it and safe boating!

Great course overall perhaps it could be decided into two separate courses as some of the content was not relevant to my particular needs for a pond boat for trout fishing. But very informative and a challenge which it should be given it’s purpose

Really easy to understand! Sometimes there are unnecessary videos and information. But really informative and good.

Good course content, but terrible design. If I knew it was going to take that long to review things I already know, I would not buy the coupons and go with other sites.

Hi Hing - Thanks for taking time to leave feedback. We understand the test can take a while for some students, but the time requirements and quizzes are required by Transport Canada and NASBLA to ensure students of all reading levels are able to fully understand all content. The timed requirements are the same across all course providers, and we find many students prefer the convenience of completing the course from the comfort of home, rather than in a classroom setting. Thanks for sticking with it and safe boating!
