Though I’m sure this is good for safety, I did not have a good or fun time. Thank goodness I only have to do this once it took years off of my life

Print was hard to read. Could not review wrong answers on quizzes

Content was great but having to wait for a predetermined time between slides added hours to the process should be able to learn at your own pace.

No possibility to skip info I already knew

Good informative training. Biggest pain was having to wait an extra 1-2 minutes after each module when you have already read the material.

As an experienced boat operator, I would have liked the option to skip straight to the test.

It was a very long session but I did learn a lot. I do have some suggestions about the graphics. Women pilot boats and PWCs too. Take a look at the number of women that have been depicted in your presentation as boat operators. It is not equitable. Secondly, the section about a Sail Plan. You have a woman in a bikini as the holder of the plan. For much of the session, she is viewed from the side/back. When you do have her face front, she has the most prominent set of breasts. Perhaps rather than wearing a bikini, she could be wearing shorts and a t-shirt the same as all the other people characterized. In this era, this could be viewed as sexist. Thank you for the opportunity to provide feedback.

The timer to go to the next lesson was inconsistent. It was way too long on some pages.

The narrator is extremely annoying talking at you in a booking voice. It feels like you're being assaulted. It's that annoying guy at the restaurant talking over everyone else kind of voice. Equally annoying is the music during the video portions. It's load, obnoxious, and completely unnecessary.

The green and read sidelights were reversed on one of your early diagrams. Also the timers on each page are about twice as long as it takes to read, for those who don't want to listen to the audio recording each time. Good information though!

The time limits on the pages are way too long for the material that is covered. You can read the material way faster then the time it keeps you on the page.

Hey David - thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We definitely understand that the course timers can be frustrating, but they are mandated by NASBLA and Transport Canada because the testing is online and unsupervised. The course timers are a requirement for all course providers. Glad you stuck with it and safe boating!

Good course for preparing although some discrepancies are noted and double typing

Easy to navigate and informative. Some sloppy lessons, repeated pages, poorly worded statements or questions, etc. When I missed a quiz or test question, it didn't tell me which one(s) I missed - could not go back and learn from the mistake.

Should be run by the government, not private companies who over charge.

There is a lot of waiting time in many of the lessons where the lesson is completed but you cannot proceed to the next lesson.

Very interesting, helpful course but it needs some editing as there are errors online and in the study guide.

Very informative but some of the quiz questions were not a part of the course content, answers should be shown after quizzes so students know what they got wrong from the quiz.

Hi Cailyn - thanks for the feedback. Since there are a finite number of test questions and the test is open book and unsupervised - Transport Canada and NASBLA regulate that the answers not be shown. This is one of the check and balances put into place to maintain the integrity of online testing. As boaters too, we understand the feedback and are working with regulators to try and improve the process within the confines of online testing. Thanks for sticking with it and safe boating!

The timer was irritating. As a medical student I can process information in about 1/3 of the time required for each lesson. would have been nice to go through it at my own pace.

Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback William. We understand the test can take a while for some students, but the time requirements and quizzes are required by Transport Canada and NASBLA to ensure students of all reading levels are able to fully understand all content. The timed requirements are the same across all course providers, and we find many students prefer the convenience of completing the course from the comfort of home, rather than in a classroom setting. Thanks for sticking with it and safe boating!

The information was presented in the most interesting way possible for relatively dry material. However, it was annoying sometimes to be forced to stay on a lesson for a given time. Overall it was well put together and easy to understand
